Well I'm about to Graduate from school early with a B.B.A. in Accounting and I'm not really sure about what I want to do. I don't think I want to be CPA....

Anyone here have some ideas of what I can do with it that's real profitable?

I'm starting on my MBA next January. Plan to finish it by the end of next year as well.

Can u be a financial advisor with ameriprise?

If u can do it good and if u could sell ur self as one, that's a good path. After certain period u open ur own business and take ur clients with u. First few years u'll be making 40 then more, up to 250k. But the real price here is ur own practise. To live it up in this life u need 500kish per year, ur own business will bring u that.

Another good thing is selling cheap Chinese crap on the internet. Have good Chinese contacts, buy off Chinese eBay and sell in US via eBay and ur own site. 100k monthly sale is a possibility. If u want this, here is where all the big boys hang out http://www.aspkin.com/forums/

I can remember when every little boy on here wanted to be a pickup guru. Once you figured out that you couldn't make money in that you got into the real estate game. That didn't work so you went to penny stocks. Now it is Chinese good on Ebay! Keep it up. I need this site for a good laugh.

A MBA is worthless unless it is from an Ivy League caliber school.

Update: Finished my second to last exam today. One more tommorow and I graduate on Saturday.

I've been accepted into my college's MBA program.

I have been applying to jobs everyday but it seems like the only people that call are people wanting to be insurance sales people. But I ain't doing sh*t unless there is a Base Salary.

Right now I work in a retail store part time making 9.2$ an hour. I'm still applying to different jobs everyday however.

More tips will be helpful.

I graduated with an accounting degree in May, I've been in this same exact boat since then, except I work in a warehouse. I've had 2 interviews so far, neither called me back :(

You know this how?
Because EVERY school in the late 90's started offering a MBA program. They started offering weekend classes. It was pure B.S. My favorite program was the one for "Entrepreneurship". Yeah, like Michael Dell or Bill Gates even finished college!

Most "higher education" is a scam. EVERY dolt who gives you a freakin' mocha latte at Starbucks is working on their masters. The business world is all about connections. Who you know. That is why the Jews, Armenians, Lebanese, and Persians do so well in America. They have tight communities who help each other out.

get your 48k of college loans, use it to build 1/4 mill of credit, and get to some country where the interest on 200k lets you retire. Screw beating your head against the wall for 45 years, man.

Either choice you're gonna make you're in for a tough time. Given the economical context these days it's gonna be very hard to find jobs no matter what direction you decide to take.
I don't mean to sound negative ...I 'm just trying to be realistic.

get experience at one of the big 4. get your CPA license. 2 years at a big four law firm and you can probably move into banking.

With your MBA degree at the big four and a CPA license you should be making 60+ easily. After two years doing auditing or w/e u can try to make the switch into banking. Salary's for people with Master's degree's in banking are generally 100K+ with around 100K+ bonus.

If you're going to a top tier MBA program you can also try to go into investment banking directly. Might be able to break in. Depends on your GPA, school, and people skills/knowledge or the finance world.

Thanks for the idea AAA. I been using Careerbuilder and Monster to apply for jobs. I pretty much applied to over 100 jobs yet the only time I am hearing anything back is from those annoying people that want me to sell insurance for commission. I refuse to work off commission. I rather keep my current job at Home Depot.

Well just graduated. So how am I celebrating? Gotta go to work. This is a big milestone for me as I graduated college in 3 years. Wish I was more happier then sad though. Been applying like sh!t for jobs yet not even one interview. Pretty tragic.

No offense but screw the job market. With a background in accounting their are multiple doors open or you. If you want advice I'd say looking at what you enjoy doing or fun and turning that hobby that you do well into your own business my two cents

going to career fairs and networking is a lot easier from what i've heard. is your gap decent? if so u should network at those fairs and talk to recruiters and email them.

Walk up to deloitte, kpmg, E&Y, etc. and ask them about the company, culture, hours, clients, act interested and show it. Take their card and tell them it was a pleasure meeting you xxx, thank you for the introduction and i look forward to talking to you again.

Also work on your resume and cover letter.

You guys are right. When I am applying for jobs from now on I will write the number down and give them a follow up call. This will make me distinct.

I also work on my resume everday. Making it precise and to the point.

So I got a phone follow up from Delta regarding a business analyst. The business analyst position would be in Atlanta however. I live an hour west of Atlanta because I am going to grad school there.

So many times I just think that I need to find a job in Atlanta and just commute back in forth. But then again is that good for my Masters program? I have been wondering that. I am about to get a promotion at my current job but I still feel like it won't give me the amount of money that I want. So I think I'm deciding that I will work locally in my current city and finish up grad school in one year (Focus on graduate school). After a year I should have way better experience and better cridentials to apply for the big jobs that I want.

I will change my mind in a heartbeat depending on what company offers me a position.

Edit: I am the same with woman. I got many girls that I have in Atlanta but I am not going to drive my car 45 minutes to see a girl. It's just not happening unless they pay me gas money. I like to spend minimal money on gas. I have many cute girls that I am talking to in Atlanta too. If they want to see me that bad they will have to make the drive.
