Wow dude. NEVER let that happen again, which chances being that you let it happen the first time someone will test you again. In situations like that where you think there's about to be a fight, hit them first. Everyone will tell you to try to talk people down.... but if they get in your face, running their mouth the fights already started whether you want it to or not. Next time it happens, beat the sh*t out of the guy. Whether you lose or not you didn't lose face and it sends a message that you won't let people walk on you.

While it may not be "caveman times" anymore, having a little caveman in you doesn't hurt. That caveman attitude helped humanity survive up until now so it's gotta be a bit useful right?

Nothing against you, but hearing about people backing down in these situations sickens me. Never tolerate that kind of disrespect, you're not a floormat!

You can always strip and charge the guy too... no one wants to fight a naked, crazy guy

silver sonnet, you are still very young! If you start training now in any combat sport you could become a world champion in 10 years! even sooner. Oscar de la hoya was 19 when he won an olympic medal...

I agree with the many posters who say that fighting is the last option. Walking away is better in 99% of the cases. But what happens when you see a guy run up to a girl and punch her in the face? what happens when you friend gets jumped? do you just walk away? I don't and never did. so even though I'm not looking for fights, i want to be ready when the time comes. That's why I've been training thai boxing and jiu jitsu for over 2 years.

my advice to you is to start training too in a full contact combat sport, it will help you develop the skills you need to defend yourself and it will give you a HUGE confidence boost.

have you ever seen a cat and a dog fight ? the dog will bark all he wants but when a cat has had enough he will put his nails all over the dog. take in mind that a DOG is allways the pro active animal here, the cat on his turn is more passive yet far more bussy with his own agenda.

Being ****y is the way of the Dog it's showing teeth with arrogance, if you don't controll the aspect of funny in this combination you will be slapped around and eventually lose all value in the eyes of all around you except for pitty. if someone hits you than you have given the weak impression to people giving them the oppertunity to smack you.

if some hits you, you either hit them back and if required kick the **** out of them or you warn them with a persuading attitude that you are giving them a chance to correct the biggest mistake of their lives.

anyway being ****y is not the answer to anything except for a small personall laugh. being ****y and funny is a way to mess around without hurting feelings. I advice to work on this and Seriously take up martial arts,

I'm a bartender at a club and I've had a few lessons with the bouncers on how to take out trouble makers at the club and they are very very usefull in these kind of situations.

The element of suprise in a fight in huge. Now I'm not one to abicate violence, and I know its hard to get away from a fight in HS. So if you can't avoid it, I would say hit him first and hit him when unexpected if possible. Once you hit him, don't stop, just keep wailing away.

The other thing is, a fight is 50% mental. You can use NLP to help you in a fight as well, I've done it. You just need to create a trigger to help you lose it & snap.
