A Way to EASILY Liquidate the EYECONTACT-Breaking Reflex

Hey all,

It's a short tip for the shy newbies that would like to get used to maintaining eye contact in a relatively simple way.

Once, I was completely unable to hold eye contact with strangers for more than a short moment. After I have found SoSuave.Com, my confidence has seriously improved (there's still a lot of work :D, but that's not the point here...) and I managed to hold it longer and longer... up to now - when I have (almost) no problem with it at all.

Not long ago I understood when did the most significant change happen. It was during some period when I was going a lot with a pair of very dark and very reflecting sunglasses. At first, despite the fact that no one could see my eyes even if he would stare at me for a minute, I would break the eye contact automatically. Then, I got used to holding it, and finally I had no problem whatsoever with holding eye contact - still with the glasses.

The "miracle" was when I stopped wearing these sunglasses, as my reflexes for breaking eye contact have simply disappeared!

I didn't have that shocking feeling during eye contact anymore, nor did I look down or away, even though that I had no glasses on me anymore!

I am sure that I'm not the first to think of it, but since I don't remember reading about this point, I thinkit may really help our new members on their first steps - a place where I have been myself not long ago... :)

Good luck and keep up the good practice, fellow DJs! ;)

Peace,
~Foreigner.

Very good tip for newbies!

If only I had this tip when I was starting out.
It's true, to get better at anything you gotta "practice, practice and Pratice" it till you are naturally doing it.

The glasses are a very good way of practising this.

Good Job,
SuSHI.

Sunglasses rule, I've said this before...they give you a psychological advantage, as it makes it harder for the other person to guess what you are feeling, you become hidden behind a barrier.

If you can hold eye contact without them, then you will feel a lot more comfortable with people you don't know....in England it is especially difficult as people look away so fast when they make eye contact that I am suprised they don't shatter their upper Verterbre. :D

That's a little too "cheating" for my liking. I reckon that's half the fun of becomeing a DJ... all the scary yet strangely exhilerating stuff you have to practise to get here.

Good idea... well its not cheating, its just somethng that'll create a DJ mindset quicker...

I gotta try this sometime :)

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Good tip, man. I used shades when I first met my prom date. It definitely gives you an "aura of cool." It makes you more mysterious and gives you a sort of upper hand. Some have said that eyes are the windows to the soul. By wearing shades, you've effectively destroyed someone's ability to "see your soul."

This tip is extremely good, and I can verify that it works.

All it takes is a $20 investment for a cheap pair of shades, and you take a mammoth step towards a permanent boost in confidence.

And, yes, he's telling the truth. You will have conditioned yourself to hold eye contact even without the glasses.

There's no such thing as a magic bullet, but there sure are some nice tricks out there. This happens to be one of them.

And let's not kid ourselves... Newbies aren't the only ones who can benefit from this. Plenty of folks can take their game to the next level by optimising their eye contact. That group includes a lot of people who are anything but newbies.
