I was at my friend's house, watching a DVD, when his girlfriend calls. She's crying on the phone, saying she had cheated on him, had feelings for another guy, etc etc.

My friend goes "Sorry to hear that", then hangs up on her, calls up a girl from work, and sets up a date for the same night!

That's one hell of a way to react to a breakup

5 bucks says he did it partially to hide getting hurt and because you were there... I'm not a pansie but no matter how tough you are it's gonna hurt if it's a relationship. LOL sorry to be pessimistic.

COOL!!!! Great way to react and if he can keep this up, I reckon she'll be begging for him back in no time. IF he can keep it up! (although a DJ wouldn't take her back of course!)

I agree with Syncmaster that he is hiding his true feelings and it's natural to be upset, but it's still the ideal reaction.

hey may be hiding his feelings, but why point it out? because its something you would do? give the man credit, he accepted the fact that it happened without question and carried on with himself.

Bravo reply!!!

Courage is not the absence of fear but the ability to proceed despite it!

They had been dating for a few months (cant remember, maybe 4 or 5).

Yes he was upset, and he did look realy hurt on the phone, but he's the kind of guy who accepts what life throws at him and moves on.

In my opinion acceptance is the healthiest emotion (within limits of course!). Definitely better than most guys, who would mope around the house for weeks, wondering what they did wrong.
