I live away from home for school and have a single bed, sure it works fine and is comfy for one person, but taking girls back to a single bed isnt the best thing and I think most would be disappointed. Am I wrong to make this assumption?

Get a 3/4 or queen size bed. More comfy for you when sleeping alone, and it looks cool as well - far more imposing on a room.
This. I'm at uni living in their accomodation and it's all single beds. Same at pretty much every other uni in this country. It doesn't make a difference. People still bang and sleep together fine.Teflon_Mcgee said:

Believe me when I say it matters when you get out of school. A grown ass man needs to at least have a Queen. There was a time when I couldn't afford anything but a click-clack, brought a girl back, and it was so uncomfortable that we left my house and went to her house to fvck. At a certain point it does matter.
