Ok, let me clarify something that's of fashion.
Be congruent with your image.
Look at people and how they dress. And look at yourself and see if you were to be in their dressing, what does it project? Is it congruent? Get 'previews' from your FASHIONABLE friends (Preferably females), not computer nerds or geeks. If you are the Hip hop kind and got the hip hop look, go for it.
Likewise, if you look smart with a collar long sleeved top, go for it.
But there'r rarecases when some guys look good in all sorts of images. The guy may not be necessary handsome, but he can make it cool and good.
Example for myself. I usually wear a long sleeve shirt usually unbutton 2 top buttons. I put on a huge diamond Stud on my left ear <One side only>. A dark titanium ring on my left index finger and a DKNY watch. Good brown leather shoes. All these fit my skin colour and build with my hairstyle. I have girls and even strangers whom compliment me about how i looked and how much of an Asian idol image i project. That's just simply.... I look smart and damn confident.
