It's a pretty disturbing thing to see in action. In fact, what you said is the equvalent of 'I promised myself I wouldn't leave her alone until I made her mine'.
I'd argue that you should drop her in order to straighten your head, but it sounds like you're too far gone to listen to that advice. Instead, perhaps you should go out with someone else. Hear me out on this one. If you go out with someone else, and it gets back to the other person that you're dating around, AND you avoid contact with your oneitis, then you might have a chance. Maybe. And who knows? You might just find someone you like more than your current infatuation.
