A few quick questions about bulking

#1. I am 16 years old and I'm 5 foot 7 and 1/2, I weigh about 105 lbs or so (yeah, I know, I'm pretty skinny, but everyone thinks I weigh 120 or so. My muscles are really defined when I flex; I'm a rassler). I have armpit hair and my voice has changed already, but I've heard things about waiting to start lifting weights and whatnot. My voice changed about a year (year and 1/2 maybe) ago, do you think it's pretty safe to start lifting? I don't want to permanently damage myself because I didn't wait until I was fully developed. Maybe this is a common misconception, but I haven't seen anyone here clearing this up.

#2. I go to high school Monday - Friday, and thus it is hard to get the meals that I need while I'm there. I need some ideas for some quick snacks that are good sources of protein and whatnot. A few I can think of are tuna sandwiches and egg sandwiches. What do you guys do about this? Tuna isn't hard to prepare, but eggs take awhile to do.

I'm looking forward to starting a bulking thread pretty soon with before and after pictures.

1) you're fine, go lift!


2) cans of tuna + can openers brought to school are real easy, nuts, eggs (hardboiled) and beef jerky can help ya out in the protein department too.

Err, to be honest I'm not sure if can openers are too great of an idea nowadays. A girl at my school got expelled for taking advil. We aren't allowed to have white-out (they think we might sniff it during class). My school would probably see a can-opener as a dangerous weapon of some sorts... so just be careful.

Smoke a blunt n eat as much puzzy as humanly possible...

then open the can at home, and throw it in tupperware and take it to school.

Lifting weights does not stunt growth, if anything itll make your bones and joints stronger.

start now.



food isnt hard to prepare

take tuna can, open can, put put in plastic box, take to school.
eggs ->boil -> put in box-> bring to school

you dont make tuna or egg sandwiches because tuna is a source of nearly pure protein and thats why its so great, and eggs are mostly protein n fat with the highest grade protein.

You can also eat peanut butter out of the jar, BUT you must ensuer it is natural peanut butter, not like kraft with added sugar, so thats hard to find.

or you can just chew on almonds.

always use whole wheat bread for your sandwiches.

beff jerky is too expensive compared to other sources of nutrition.

I never said it wasn't expensive... it's a change of pace tho, a different way to get protein in, a good snack.

Whey protein shakes with olive oil and homemade weight gainers or store bought weight gainers will help you a lot here.


You can get a big breakfast in the morning, a big shake during class,a solid meal lunch, then another big shake in class. Then you'll probably be out of school and ready to eat a big 16oz steak dinner

At 105 at 5'7", I don't think you really need to worry TOO much about eating clean. Just eat like a beast. :)

A tuna sandwich is good but how about a roast beef instead? Pastrami on rye?

When you're lifting, and bulking, you'll consume the brunt of your calories AROUND the weight lifting session.

So if you lift at night, you'd eat moderately before it and heavily after it, say 1 or 2 meals if you lift @ 5 or 6. Then when you wake, get a good breakfast in.

Take a snack as well, say a bar, or your usual lunch.

As I see it...

1 Breakfast, Eat well here, since you go awhile without consuming food until lunch, and you'd want to follow up your nights sleep with a good breakfast of growth. 20%

2. Midafternoon meal/lunch. Here, just eat a decent lunch, whatever your calories should be, say about 15% of your total daily calories.

3. Your afternoon meal/protein bar or food, say fruit and eggs, or a bagel and cream cheese. Something. about 15%, too.

4. Preworkout, about an 1 hour 1/2 away from lifting. 25% of your daily calories.

5. Post workout about 25% of your daily calories.


You can rework the numbers by 5% in any direction. Concentrate your calories around your workout, because that's the most critical time. Plus with school, it will be a little easier like this, since you won't be stressing taking 3 meals or more to school and trying to find a way to prepare and eat them.

And also, you want to eat above a maintenance. As it sounds, 2000 calories, or even 1800 might be good based on your size. That's not exact, but close. Up it if you haven't seen so some size gains in 2-3 weeks or you're feeling week during the workouts.

A-Unit, say you're consuming x calories a day, and one day you walk everywhere instead of drive, wash your car or help your mom do some landscape gardening.. will you still eat x calories even though you obviously need more?

Stay away from calorie counting, count your protein grams and eat carbs 'til you're full, add fat sources to your protein shakes and you're most of the way there. If you're not gaining (and not hungry) then simply add more calorie dense foods (oils, peanut butter, etc).

Basically, if you're destroying your previous lifts week-in, week-out then you're growing (and therefore eating enough).
 

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
