Latley I have been noticing the marketing genius of A&F and Hollister (two clothing stores who look almost identical to one another).

Every time you walk in the door you will have at least 3 attractive girls greeting you and being super friendly to you. I have yet to see those places hire unattractive females, my guess they send them all to the Gap.

Attractive girls being friendly to men will increase the sales in the store because it is very unusual these days (but not uncommon) to have hot girls being friendly to you out of the blue. Its almost like a PG version of a stripclub where hot strippers are nice to you because you pay them money or hooters girl being nice to you and you shell out more money for expensive chicken wings and tips.

Just an observation, any comments or feedbacks would be great.

Uh, they always hire hotties for retail sales. Duh. You're a fool if you fall for it and buy their overpriced shyt, tho.
Yes But when they hire ONLY hotties, its a different story. Most other retail's you have some pretty ones and then you have average one's and then some where you don't want to stare directly at them or your retna might be permantly damaged.

Hollister and A&F clothline tend to be very cheap overwashed fabric but yet its doing booming business because it knows how to sale its merchandise and who to target. For the average AFC having a hot chick helping you to pick your cloths will make the guy almost forget that he is paying for something that is worth 3 times more then what it should be. It also doesn't come down to if the guy really likes the style but whether has to do with an approval of a hot chick.

People say A&F is for fags, but it's kind of ironic that the marketing campaign is actually designed for gay people. The clothes are inspired by what gay men wear. One of the greatest marketing hoodwinkings of the last twenty years.

That said, A&F has grown in profit for something like 56 consecutive quarters. Incredible.

I didn't realize that those damn gays have a WHOLE different style than us straights. I mean Jesus H. Christ, I thought just their orientation was different. Little did I know that a whole style of marketing was designed for them different folk.

But seriously, I used to shop at Hollister. Way overpriced for me now. Now I go to the outlets (factory stores) and pick up $20 jeans, half price track jackets and the like.

Armani and Dolce & Gabbana...Mix it in with some nice Ferre. Straight Up. A player has got to have good clothes. Not some frat boy gear. Yes, it is designed for gay men. Why? Because gay men shop there. Just look around. They even put those gay guy pictures up at the entrance. Who falls for that? Gay boys. That is who.

Go look at the ladies clothing department in a good store. The women's area doesn't have pictures of gay men. Just pictures of models in the clothes that they are selling.

Leave those stores for your gay buddies.

Peace....
LoL!

You know that this Dolce dude and this Gabbana dude are a famous gay fashion designer couple right? You know that 99% of the famous male fashion designers are gay right?

So please, unless you buy all your clothes at Walmart, stop using this gay this gay that sh*t.

Remember guys, you are not buying those clothes because they are designed by gay designers, or supposedly targeted at gay people, but because you think they look good on you.
So there's nothing to worry about, this gay witch hunt just goes too far.

Of course, I would suggest not buying anything that is intended to be worn only by gay people, like drag queen outfits and stuff...:D

Re:

*I don't buy jeans @ 70 bucks when you can guarantee EVERYONE will have them right off the rack, too. I used to.

*I can see the gay vibe thing. It is quite metro for the younger crowd, and the clothing DEFINATELY isn't manly. Pre-cut jeans. Pink shirts. Super tight t-shirts. You might LOOK good in them, but they can't be deemed manly. And the models at the front of the store? True. They wouldn't appeal to the perceived target market of A&F, which is frat boys and sorority girls. Nonetheless, it's meant to portray youth, fun, sexiness, energy --they've stayed ahead of or with the trend of youth/college clothing. Though MORE fashionable people don't shop there. The better dressed people I know find clothes at various stores, a Macy's for instance and combine them together with other locations, or just buy such overpriced shyt, it's bound to be unique.

*Stores have to create an image so they can create a niche to attract people. It's a positive and a negative. Men are more pigeon holed into styles than women. For a guy to "deviate", one usually has to be creative and shop at discount retailers, like a Macy's which might have tons of brands. If you go to HOT TOPIC they won't deny you, but few people want to work in goth/punk departments, so they have it easy. People normally want the discount, low pay, and young attractive girls found @ AF or Hollister, so they apply. If they request a certain work attire, they have to pay for it; that was another major lawsuit AF was forced into. Many of my friends paid for their clothes for years back in the 90's without thinking "this is a DRESS CODE, they have to pay for it." Also, most of the people I know/knew had no money from AF, since they were constantly buying their clothes just to work there. Nice cycle! They have a desired image, and they will enact any legal rules it takes to create that image.

Most deffinitly there is a gay subculture... no differnet than black subculture. Many, even most, that meet the requsite trait subscribe wholeheartedly... but not all. That being said, A&F and Hollister is pretty much the uniform there, I don't know why so many young, straight guy wear the stuff.

Yo, D & G is for playas who like good threads. I don't buy clothes because I think some trick a$$ h** will like them. I buy clothes because I like how pretty I look in the mirror.
Uhh, dolce and gabanna are designed by two homosexual men. They are worn by mostly gay men as well, or rich mommy's boys. Oh......and since when do they sell "white t's" at dolce and gabanna, just go to kmart, meijers, the zoo, or whatever your local hangout is.

A&F is for 35 year old men who like smooth ripped chests. Partna, like you have never seen a 35 year old gay men with a tight a$$ A&F t-shirt walking next to his boy meat. Where you been?
I don't know where you live, but I have never seen any guys in there 30's wearing A&F, let alone shopping there.

I might be a bad 6'8" angry yellow n****, but I sure don't need to look like a gay white boy in order to get white girls. Know what I am saying?
no of course you dont, theres always the white trailer trash girls who only go for black guys. And incase you haven't noticed the majority of the teenage "white" population dress in hollister or a&f.....wow there must be a lot of those gay crackazz out there.

Oh and learn to speak english properly, using ebonics just makes your people look bad. Before you start calling the majority of the white population gay, then you should rethink your "threads" dawgggggg...D&G just aint cutting it.

Everyone that has a good sense of fashion knows that A&F and Hollister are crap.. They're just the kinda clothes that kids like me can afford since we don't have the funds to buy better things. Go Armani Exchange!!

Looks like someone deleted his posts (hmmm :)). A black man really has no place talking sh*t about the way white people dress. Maybe when your people stop dressing in clothes six sizes too big for them, making them look like they suddenly shrunk three feet and 150 pounds right in their clothes, then you can talk about how "gay" white people dress.
