Its simple really

The folks that run this place are cowards and cant handle an intellectual debate on anything remotely controversial. They try to blame it on immature people who flame, but I've seen worse flame wars happen in seduction threads honestly.

They should rename this forum:

Anything Else (except stuff that makes people upset)

pvssies

Not hating on you mpimpin, you just doin your job, but that is a lame excuse.

It would be like shutting down a thread on cars because "this is not a car forum"

I can understand why mods would shut down a political thread with major flamage and death threats, but most of the time there is good, civil conversation and then the thread is pulled.

I hereby argue that SoSuave is indeed a political forum, we deal with issues like feminism and men's rights, so why do we draw the line at real issues like war and government policies? Real men talk about stuff like this all the time. It makes for good, stimulating conversation and keeps our wits sharp.

they really should lift this needless ban on political/religious/whatever-else-gets-their-panties-in-a-wad topics

Yeah, Zeitgeist is still there after how many pages? Also more flames and insults there than on the 9/11 rabbit hole thread. Whatever happened to freedom of speach everyone so values?

The mods are slowly taking away your freedoms and liberties. Very soon we will be issuing all SoSuave members with implanted RFID chips that will monitor your every movement. If an unauthorized thread is started, your chip will blow up.

Also, all posts made now cost $1, with an attached debt of $0.05. All payments must be made by April 15 of each year. If a payment is missed, the mods will come to your house and freeze all of your assets until Accounts Received is satisfied.

But yeah, if you want the thread back, start a thread asking for it back. Questioning how this forum is run isn't the best compromise for either party.

Haha, you want to take away other people's rights to free speech and their freedoms - now how does it feel when it is taken away from you?

Quicksilver summed it up nicely!

Political discussions are off limits per the Admin.

If anyone here NEEDS to discuss politics you can do so at a forum that encourages it. Just Google "political discussion forums".

We have found here that political discussions disrupt the harmony of the site.

I actually like threads that deal with political and religious topics. There comes a time in a man's life when he starts asking questions about these things in search of higher knowledge and wisdom. As long as we keep it civil, it will benefit many knowing that people come to this forum to improve themselves first compared to just flame-warring like in other forums specific to those topics. I know that I myself have recently been looking into religious topics in search of higher morality and human nature. Same can be said with political issues. I feel kind of bad because I hesitate a lot and usually wont post what I find due to knowing that it would probably get deleted. Some of the wisest men I've read about were politicians or dealt heavily with politics (Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, etc...). It is men's nature to talk about things like politics, human nature, and the world around us, we naturally have that curiosity. Why suppress it in a forum where one of the main goals is self-improvement? I have respect for the mods who are moderating but I just wanted to state my own views on this subject.

Everywhere you want to be.... I'm like a Visa card
By becoming a member of this site and agreeing to the Terms of Service, you basically hand over all of your rights. The Bill of Rights isn't your governing document while you post here, the ToS is. This forum is essentially a country run by the Admin and the Mods, and whatever they say the rules are, is what we're supposed to follow. You can challenge that, in a civilized manner of course, but don't make threads about it; PM someone.

Also, you must remember, this is the internet. Its international territory. The rights and freedoms of the United States don't necessarily govern the internet. The right to free speech on this site is given to us by the people who operate it. They can close any thread or ban any member they see fit, without need to give a reason. This is what you agreed to by joining the site.

This is the most mind blowing post I've ever read. I can't believe how brainwashed I was.

I think the rabbit hole thread was deleted because the Zeitgeist was discussing the same EXACT topic. Why did you[ricorico] make that thread in the first place. I remember you posting in it, you knew the same exact discussion was happening in that thread.

I made the Rabbit hole thread because I wanted to seperate it from the Zeigleist thread. So threads aren't made on the same subject? If there was a problem, why not combine it with Zeitgeist thread.

Also, they say no political threads, but Zeitgeist thread is allowed to stay and is 11 pages long even with name calling. WHY???? Because the mods agree with the original posts?

I don't think there is a lot of name calling in the Zeitgeist thread. Other than LMS calling people a fascist because they want to silence his opinion. And then there is the occasional poster who surfaces that are so set in their ways that they call anyone who questions who was behind 911 un-American and sick.

But other than that, I think the discussion has been fairly civil and mature. We may not agree but I think we can keep it respectful

I agree 100%. This has been the tradition among intelligent men going all the way back to ancient Greece.

I'd like to see a poll to see how many members would rather be able to swear and argue about politics like the real men we're supposed to be. So far most opinion seems to be that we can handle discussions without childish flaming. But ultimately I accept that the site's owner can enforce whatever rules he chooses and I can accept it or piss off.

Well, the Zeitgeist thread was still active at the time you made your thread. The orginal topic of the Zeitgeist thread was the events surrounding 9/11 and the federal reserve. More like an interpretation of history. It was made polital by name calling. Your thread right off the bat went into name calling.

But, only the mod who deleated it can say why it was deleated.
