How can I practice game to get better at it? I mean besides running up to women on the sidewalk, which any normal person with an ounce of self awareness and idea of social norms knows isn't normal? I was a line cook for many years and never figured it out.Game them? The chefs who were older at my old country club job got with the waitresses. Everyone is funking everyone in service jobs like those. Propinquity is your friend, build rapport, be friendly and be the fun dude at work.
When I was bartending at this same club every girl would make an effort to hide back in my liquor room or chat with me. If the wait staff is escaping the floor looking for downtime be the guy they want to chat with. Every job in food service women have come on to me hard, the only thing consistent was I was fun to be around. I never bothered with any of em since I needed the job though. I can recall one line cook who everyone liked. He wasn't attractive and he looked like a greasy punk rocker and wore a fake Rolex Submariner. He was known to get with girls at work (not they were all that attractive either) because he was fun to be around. Dude was always saying hello to everyone and was just a charming guy in general. I had a shift once on the day my dog died, my man saw I was down and made me fresh donuts, that was awesome. If the kitchen had extra food he'd put it aside for the wait staff to eat. Little things like that just made him a cool dude, pair that with his ability to flirt with the chicks at work and he was in.
So be fun and likeable above all else is what I'm thinking. ****ting where you eat though...
When you were in the kitchen did you make attempts at conversing with the staff? In my jobs in service I would always make an effort to chat to people even if I didn't like them. This made work feel less like work and more like a social thing as well and everyone's mood seemed to get better. Little things went a long way as well. Always thanking the staff for menial things and saying their name makes them feel appreciated. Knowing there is some camaraderie amongst us also made situations where **** hit the fan go over smoothly. Kinda like a " I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" situation. How can I practice game to get better at it? This is basically the answer. Very simple. Although an important caveat is that the result is out of your control.all you have to do is talk , and then make moves.. simple as that. you all have immense common ground to relate to
