... in my early 30s, desperate to produce a sibling for my daughter, and even more desperate to stop paying rent on my own.
I matched with a BBC reporter who sounded needlessly confident. A cluster of smooth and seemingly highly paid investment bankers followed. A match was bagged, and then suddenly it was raining heart surgeons. Pearly-toothed, altruistic, perfectly formed heart surgeons who read Virginia Woolf, tolerated smokers, were looking to commit, wanted children, and did not have a dog.
my opinion: It's so OVER it hasn't even started.

There is a reason why guys like @LucianoM suggest deleting the apps and going out into the real world.

The real pandemic is male thirst. The fact that a single mom in her early 30s has such options is a sign that the dating app environment is broken. Wheat Waffles has produced some good content around this idea.

It's rough out there for a lot of reasons. Both the paths of tech-based dating methods and real life approaching are difficult paths.

@MatureDJ You've been on here since '06... Your posts signify that you are not currently successful in the dating market. Was there a time that you were, and if so, what is your opinion on the difference of then vs. now?
He has signified that he is below average in height. That's been a problem in Western nations since last century. He has also mentioned a short term work stint he had in Phoenix in the early 2000s that did not seem to amount to much success either.

The biggest change I’m seeing is “relationships” don’t last more than a couple months, then it’s on to the next one. It’s RARE you meet a girl and date for a year or more these days, used to be very common. Now you bounce from 2 month relationship to 2 month relationship. I know this because I see women complaining about it all the time on Facebook and the irony is they’re the cause of it.

You are in your early 40s, so you can compare the present day well to the 2003-2006 era.

I have a stat in YouTube video to help support your claim. I have the YouTube video set to the moment that stat appears.

As compared to the 2003-2006 time frame, there are many changes, including the one you've noticed.

Who cares. Stop overanalyzing these things. That’s a problem with guys. They use **** like this as a crutch for why they’re unsuccessful with women. Not ALL women are like this. And if you meet one, move on from her. It’s her problem. Not yours.

If she is hot there are going to be plenty of guys who ignore the single mother part.

Also, just because guys are good at making money doesn't mean they are good with women. Often times it's the exact opposite, they are some of the biggest simps you'll ever see.

She’s getting sex but none of those guys are crazy enough to wife her up.

That’s the same as an ugly guy making an article about how many rejections he gets going to a nightclub.

quotes from article says it all. None will have a kid with her and none are giving her enough money to pay her rent or thinking about moving with her. ANY woman, it don’t matter how ugly, can get sex.

I'm still kicking the tires as a GeoMaxxer , although the current situation in Eastern Europe (at the farthest East) has radically changed recently. :( As for the American dating market, my last success was really 1994.:eek: The market really seemed to drop out after that as the only non-obese chicks that seemed to be out & about were single mommies  - this was due to the Baby Bust (Gen-X), well before OLD and hypergamy took hold). As the internet became a thing shortly thereafter, I discovered Eastern European GeoMaxxing, and it was like:

I knew that the Baby Echo (Millennials) would come and that I might be able to get back into the game, but by then women had gotten even worse with single-mommying & fat-acceptance, and there was still the problem that a lot of American women have about older men: "yeww". And of course, this all preceded the hypergamic OLD dystopia that is our current horror.

When I took contract jobs back then, I didn't try at all; in any case, by that time all my macking was abroad.

This has pretty much been my experience my entire life  - with the exception of a few whacky girlfriends that I had to eject from.

I sniped @SW15 posting of the latter video on my new thread (sometimes I can't remember if I'm the one that discovered an article/video).

what makes you believe the men have high smv? Do you think girls just meet a news reporter or heart surgeon and think ‘omg I wanna sleep with him’ - based on his career? What if he’s awkward or has bad breath? Or creepy, badly dressed and inexperienced with women?
If she was killing it in the dating world would she need to write an article about it? Or is this to make her feel better about herself?
Plus if she matched a really attractive highly paid man, why would he settle for her when he likely has 300 other matches pending and could bang them all? a heart surgeon not married at his age is either a choice (ie wants to only have non commital sex) or a defect in his personality/appearance (ie low smv). Both are bad news for the girl

Exactly what I said regarding the guys. There is a huge disconnect on this forum that if you have money or status that you MUST also be fantastic with women and that simply isn't the case. Many times these guys are the biggest simps there are and get used for their resources by these women.

Dudes who grew up as dorks and had no girlfriends now suddenly have money and/or status and have hot women seeking them out as targets, what do you think is going to happen? It would be like giving the keys to a Maserati to a 16 year old that has never driven a car before. How well do you think that's going to go?

Guys don't understand that a hot woman has the ability to make your life miserable if you have no skills in that domain and let them dictate things in the relationship. Even for guys who DO have skills in that domain, those type of women can make your life miserable...

It is interesting to see how a person would experience the mating market. I've never moved to a more traditional country in Eastern Europe in attempts to get my penis wet. I've been an early Millennial in the USA's mating market for 20+ years.

As for the American dating market, my last success was really 1994.:eek: The market really seemed to drop out after that as the only non-obese chicks that seemed to be out & about were single mommies  - this was due to the Baby Bust (Gen-X), well before OLD and hypergamy took hold).
I was alive in 1994-1996. I was still pre-high school then, so I wasn't participating in the market. I am old enough to remember life then. Being a late 20s Gen X'er in 1994-1996 would have been easier in certain ways than being a late 20s Millennial in the early 2010s.

Hypergamy has always been a thing but the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s-1970s and the greater acceptance of online dating in the 2000s made it worse in the USA.

I do think it is weird that you only were dealing with non-obese single mommies in 1994-1996 as a late 20s guy. If I had been in my late 20s in the mid-1990s, I think I would have been meeting normal weight women who were childless close to my age. My main advantage over you is normal height. I've not had to deal with overweight women as a normal weight guy. Throughout my 30s, I've only been dealing with childless women. The fact that you were mainly encountering single moms in 1994-1996 leads me to believe that you weren't in a populous area in 1994-1996. This experience sounds like a smaller city (under ~250,000 - 300,000 people).

A big problem for you in trying to attract-seduce Millennials in the USA would have been your age. You are an older Gen X. Flash back to 2006. In 2006 in the USA, you would have been a 40 year old Gen X'er trying to get with 21-24 year old Millennials. In order to pull that off, you would have needed to be quite wealthy. Even an average height guy would need wealth to pull that off. A 6'0"+ guy would need some wealth, but less than a 5'9-5'11" guy.

You're right that by 2006, online dating was starting. It was less of a thing in 2006 than 2010-present. There were women on Match, OkCupid, and Plenty of Fish in 2006 getting hundreds of messages in their inboxes, upping the hypergamy factor.

You're also correct that the typical Millennial woman is fatter than the typical Gen X woman of the same age 15 years earlier.

Childlessness is more common in USA Millennial women than Gen X women at the same age. This is why I've been able to spend my 30s dating childless Millennial women in their 30s. This has also happened because I reside in the one of the biggest metro areas in the USA.

The woman in the article posted in the first post is a 30 something Millennial in the UK having experiences similar to 30 something Millennial single moms in the USA.

This is like a man going to Amsterdam, reports" hitting all these hb8's and higher from different ethnicities " but he doesn't say they were all standing behind a window and asked him 50 euro.

Whenever I see commercials for romantic novels for women there's ALWAYS a extremely high value man involved. A king/prince, millionaire, extremely successful businessman ect. Modern day Cinderella stories. This "ideal storyline " is hardwired into society's consciousness and both men and women believe it. Yes, most men don't mind dating a women whom they picked up from behind a dumpster, aslong as she's feminine and faithful. Both qualities that can be easily faked.

Also makes you wonder why she didn't stay with one of these hvm. Seems like she just made a sport out of dating hvm's. Must be frustrating to have all that status, yet it doesn't even improve your dating life because women view you as a notch and nothing more.
