Alright guys, I need your advice. I've been cursed with premature balding and I'm not sure what the best way to handle it is. Right now it is noticeably thin, I still have SOME hair on my head but it doesn't look like a normal head of hair. The thing is, it makes me look older and it definitely knocks my confidence in the dirt around women.

So should I keep it and go with it, or should I shave it and kiss hair goodbye forever? I know that 99.9% of chicks don't necessarily like thinning hair, but how much does it really matter to women? Is it better to have SOME hair or none at all? I know it will depend on the girl... but I want to do whatever will give me the best chance with the most amount of women. I'm not overweight or anything, this is my biggest physical flaw and also my biggest obstacle with women.

I've already tried Rogaine and Propecia (and a bunch of herbal remedies) with no success. So basically I'm stuck with what I've got.

What's the best way to work with it and how much will this affect my success with women? Should I automatically assume the 9's and 10's are out of my league? Anyone else here have this problem?

Thanks.

Just shave it off and keep it like that. I know a few people that do that and it looks alot better than thinning hair. Plus every girl I know says they like shaved heads.

It doesn't matter. Most girls don't give a **** about thinning hair that iv met. Im talking 9s and 10s too. Some do, I have to agree. But Its all about power, humor and confidence that attracts woman mostly. I think that woman dislike the guys that try to hide it. Like the guys that do the flip over. I have thinning hair, and Iv dated some 9s and 10s. Iv also got dumped by those very same 9s and 10s for a guy balder then me. Those other guys just had more DJ attitude then I did at the time. Im not trying to hide my hair line. I just don't care. Woman can sense that, so they don't care either. I would concentrate on the things you can control: clothes, shoes, nice teeth. Most important a DJ attitude, and the fact that your hair docent matter.
Good Luck

AGREED!

I too started thinning in my early twenties and now I'm really thin. I've never EVER had a woman comment on it and I too have dated some hotties.

By the way, I've discovered what stops falling hair:

"It doesn't matter. "

So you're saying that losing your hair at a young age doesn't matter to women at ALL? So... why do we workout, dress sharp, groom ourselves, etc. if appearances don't matter to women? Why bother with our physical self at all if the most important things to women are humor and confidence?

No disrespect intended, its just hard to believe. Maybe it doesn't matter as much as I think. How old are you guys now?

Im 36, but Iv been losing my hair since I was 23. But you know what? Grooming your self is just as important as confidence, and humor. However thinning hair shouldn't get in the way of nice clothes, smelling good, big smile, nice shoes, good skin, being in shape. Who cares about hair when you have that stuff going on. There are going to be some woman that love the guy with hair, and f#%k em. But there are more woman that love a guy without much hair. Im telling you.

Hey man, I have a friend who is bald and he shaves it. He is 6'2", with a respectable looking face and he does pretty good. If you are tall and have atleast a cute face...I do not think it makes much of a difference. If it bothers you that much, go get a hair transplant surgery.

I'm 5'9" but I have a pretty good facial structure. There is no way in HELL i'm going to spend $10,000 or more for hair transplant surgery - even the best case scenarios look worse than a shaved head IMO. I'm thinking that the best thing to do is get buff and shave it...

If you want to just live with short hair like most of the people mentioned above then go right on ahead. But for me I want my hair until my mid 50's so I probably would go see a doc. about it.

Uh, I've already been to a doctor. Its hereditary, there's nothing they can do.

They say you get your hair line from your grandfather on your mothers side.

I've heard that you can get it from either your mother OR father's side. In which case I'm double-screwed because my dad is as bald as an eagle (so is my older brother, he was completely bald by the time he was 25)

In conclusion: genetics suck.

Having thin hair and/or losing it, is something that most guys go through, so it's not something that’s way out of the ordinary. You can blame it on it being hereditary or stress or whatever, but it’s certainly not as bad as some other physical misfortune you could have been born with. Anyway, the best and probably the only thing that can be done is to accept it. Yes, accept it and yes my hair is thinning too. I have had a couple of girlfriends make fun of it, but I don’t care. If I were still that stupid, wimpy AFC I once was, it would have destroyed me, but my greatness is so much higher and I’m so much stronger that nothing can bring me down. Not even Britney Spears rejecting me!

Look at it this way, have any of you seen the Sopranos? You know the main character, the boss: Tony, he’s losing his hair. Does anyone say anything about it? Would everyone respect him more if he had a head full of hair? He gets respected regardless. As a matter-of-fact, I would rather see him like he is, balding, and watch him throw that confidence around like it’s his bis-nitch. He is a great character with so much power and masculinity it make me jealous! So, I know you want to hear what I reply to women who comment on my reseeding hair-line: So what? Who the f**k cares? I’m the s**t with or without it and you’ll love me regardless. Say it with conviction, believing every word you say. Just like Pook says: Be a Man! Besides, all she is really doing is testing you, and yes, they do that a lot. How strong is your foundation? Be that tall, strong, immovable fortress and demonstrate your strength. She’ll test you and love it when you show it.

You might want to try propecia again... It has been clinically proven to stop you from losing any MORE hair, it's not very good at growing hair back. But it will keep the amount of hair that you still have. Also, if you ask a women if she would prefer an man who is out of shape and has a full head of hair, or in shape and bald. Almost all of them would prefer someone that is in shape. beeing bald isn't that bad, it's more a confidence issue. If you think no woman would want you because your bald, no women will. Also, I wouldn't suggest the hair transplant either, most men end up looking like a chia-pet.

You bring up a good point. If I were in my 30's or 40's I can honestly say I wouldn't care AT ALL about losing my hair. The thing that makes my situation more unusual is the fact that I'm balding in my early twenties. That is the reason I am so insecure about it. It seems like every girl I approach thinks that I'm much older. I've had many women ask me how old I am when I ask them for their number, which tells me they think that I'm much older then they are (when in fact I'm not).

Anyway, you are right of course. I have to accept it. I can do that. But can I be confident with women? That is the part I have problems with. It seems like the girls I go for (18-25) are turned off by my hairloss, I've had many girls make specific comments about it.

Which is why I think I need to shave it. At least then it will look like a fashion statement instead of bad genes.

Yep, I know. But I'll tell you what, I've been using it for about 6 months now and I'm still losing it. So why should I keep spending the money? I don't think I'll continue with it, Propecia just seems like it isn't working for me.

If you shave it all off then you'll have nothing to hide. Doesn't matter how old you are, being insecure about it thinning is much more likely to turn off a woman than being clean shaven on the nogin.

Think Vin Diesel.
