This guy repeatedly refers to the shooter as having “a weapon”

A knife? A gun? A bow and arrow?

why does this guy say “weapon” and not “gun”?

it could be a sharpened stick.

Seriously Americans, why do you speak like this? It makes no sense. Like “vehicle” instead of “car” or “van”.

Why this vague language? It makes no sense.

“what’s for dinner mum?”

“a meal”

“what meal? Pizza? Steak? Beef pie?”

“A meal. You don’t need to know more”

I think he’d have been a lousy wingman.

The media will only tell us it was "an AR style rifle." The AR is a platform, and every part of it can be swapped out. He *probably* had the basic model sold at Wal mart for $1,200. Curiously, the police snipers who shot him also had AR platform rifles, but they looked nothing like the basic model, as the barrel, scope, bolt, and other parts had been upgraded to make it into a sniper rifle. That's why he missed and they didn't.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

PJW is neither American nor as clever as he believes himself to be. He's Carl Benjamin's J. Crew-ish counterpart

The point I was jokingly making is I am forever confused as to why US law enforcement refers to what’s clearly a gun, or a rifle, as a weapon.

it’s really common for them to do so. It’s not just Law enforcement I saw a video of some dude walking around with a gun and members of the public were shouting “HE’S GOT A WEAPON”

it could be a Swiss Army knife FFS.

similarly, vee-hick-ell gets used for car, van or bus. It could be a Unicycle.

Anyway, I’d had a few to drink. I thought it was funny. Probably not as funny but hopefully one day you will see the error of your ways and rejoin the British empire
