Seeing more and more of my relatives getting old and sick. It looks miserable.. having trouble moving, constant aches and pains.. just detoriating away day by day..
These were people that were once so full of life.. it's sad and time passes quick.
I've really tried to let something go but I can't and am haunted by it to a degree. I think plotting out vengeance may be the only way past it.
I did try to resist it for a very long time..
I do understand this and often agree with the sentiment of "living well is the best revenge"
However I think context may matter... There can be varying degrees of being wronged.
So obviously a personal circumstance prompted to write this thread.. A close friend did me dirty many years ago.. we hadn't talked for a decade.. I ran into him a few years ago and decided to let it go.. Things were ok for a while but then he crossed the line again...

I agree.. but sometimes it's hard not to when you feel betrayed, disrespected etc...
You naturally at least must have these initial reactions.. what thoughts do you take on afterwards though?

Yes personal circumstances/environment play a key role.. however we as humans always do have some sort of choice. While statistically your narrative holds weight, the examples of those rising above do exist and thus debunk it.
How do you all feel about forgiving people versus holding grudges or just staying angry?
Obviously the easy answer is to say forgive.. however if someone insulted or did something bad to a loved one it's easier said than done.. Also if someone you were close with/trusted does something bad...
