Repeatedly asking for advice while rejecting all input can frustrate others and detract from the forum’s purpose, I agree. However, there’s a difference between disruptive intent, like deliberate provocation and not caring about the forum (as was confessed), and someone struggling with the same issue and being resistant to change. While the first one can be frustrating, it doesn’t necessarily involve deliberate provocation or a disregard for the forum
When one recognizes that SS has(and I say this as a compliment)more or less come to function as online equivalent of
, then yeah...
Someone who pretends to want assistance, yet persistently and obdurately refuses to adopt more functional beliefs and behaviors is disregarding the forum

My advice is not to miss the forest for the trees. There are many more insightful threads, posts, and users here than the ones you've mentioned.

Be well.

And I likewise encourage us to handle posts and posters we find objectionable in a fashion like so https://www.sosuave.net/forum/threa...-fear-of-rejection.283452/page-2#post-3144844 , rather than routinely banning speech we find objectionable. Ignore them, and they'll more than likely vanish on their own. This is a malady in our culture at large currently, not just SS

As others on this thread have already mentioned, hyper-sensitivity to words and sentences written on a screen gets even more pronounced on forums like Reddit

The ignore button doesn't fully solve the issue because it's part of human nature to want to help others, especially when we see someone struggling or making questionable posts. When we choose to ignore someone, the option to view their posts is still there with a simple click, and often, curiosity gets the best of us. I think some people—both those who provoke and those who complain without seeking improvement—take advantage of this, playing on our instinct to engage and respond.

Anyways, it looks like your buddy Mr. Amsterdam deleted his account…how do you feel about that?
