Youre somewhere between a fox and wolf!

Lots of good bits in there. What he said about those who live in big cities vs small communities is something I have witnessed. And lots of folks simulating others, pretending to be something they aren't seeking out validation. Social media really puts it in the spot light.

The thing do, is to look at something from more than one perspective, so here's a guy who thinks Chase Hughes is a fraud:

Yea, he is a good strategist, but then he becomes a rabbit when CornBread asks him for receipts lol

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

He's a shill though, so stay skeptic. That's why I posted the 'anti-Chase' video in post #8. And I tend to believe that video more than the way Chase profiles himself along with the guy in the first video, who is clearly a fan.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

I appreciate showing a more balanced perspective like this. To me, he comes across as someone selling pop psychology. The video delving into his credentials keeps coming up empty. In his 20 years in the Navy, he talked to prisoners - but wasn't the interrogator. He talks about Harvard classes, but never attended Harvard for a degree. Someone paid for him to appear on a "top 20" website - I'm guessing he did.

Compare that background to something simpler, like: "For 25 years, Joe Navarro worked as an FBI special agent in the area of counterintelligence and behavioral assessment." He wrote the following book:

"What Every Body Is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent's Guide to Speed-Reading People"

Or for those who prefer YouTube:
"Tips to build rapport with ex-FBI Agent Joe Navarro (part 1)"

Critical thinking is important.
I had never heard of Chase Hughes, but when I was watching the interview in the first post, I could see how uncomfortable he's sitting there talking to another nobody. The raised right shoulder, the elbow against the body, plunging his hands between his knees when he's talking. And then he talks about reading body language as a military interrogator.
Even an amateur body linguist can see this guy is not an interrogator.
I'm a skeptic, especially towards 'guru' types, so I look further into Chase Hughes and I found that other video. And that guy is way more believable - no fancy set-up studio, stupid headset, not looking to impress anyone, and clearly worried that people take CH seriously when he's just a shill. That bit about CH trying to be a PUA and writing a 'PUA Bible' filled with errors; trying to sell fake supplements to gullible people; selling snake oil 'medicine' that will cure 'all ills'.
And of course the interviewer from the first vid is exposed as a similar cringe snake oil salesman who was basically 'interviewing' Chase so it wouldn't look like a long monologue on how fantastic Chase is and what wonderful things he brings to society.

How to convey authenticity: have a "stupid headset" where the microphone sticks out too far.

When experts discuss their area of expertise, they will often go on tangents and need to explain things from multiple points of view. The part of the first video that I watched showed Chase Hughes not talking very much. His answers sounded like sound bites.

On the bodylanguage subreddit, people seem to like him. The picture I get is that people think his material is valuable, while others criticize his achievements and credentials.

But over in BehaviorAnalysis subreddit, they don't seem impressed. Also, being reddit, you have one guy calling Chase Hughes a "Harvard grad", which is false.

All that said, his book "Six Minute X-ray" has a respectable 4.8/5.0 rating on Amazon (roughly 1300 reviews). It's possible this guy conveys valuable information while lacking the credentials.

Yes, you can check him out on Goodreads too: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/52516308.Chase_Hughes?from_search=true&from_srp=true

The main trouble I have with Hughes is his association with Dr. Phil. My opinion of Phil wasn't that high to begin with, but it really plummeted when he put Shelly Duvall on display.

I guess people are impressed quite quickly when someone dumbs down 'complex' matters. Chase is pretty smooth, but most snake oil salesmen are. Some of his material is insightful (but borrowed) and some of it is selling crap to the gullible.

I read a sample of "Six Minute X-ray" for free. In the first chapter, in a section "the 2/3 rule", he seems to contradict himself a few times.

The most obvious is what he talks about a study "that suggests 93% of interpersonal communication is non-verbal". He then lumps himself in with other experts who disagree and call it a "body language myth". Three paragraphs later, he says "If nonverbal communication is 93% of communication". He shouldn't be relying on a "body language myth" to make a point.

He proposes "Let's conservatively estimate that about 2/3rds of of communication is what is being said." Within two paragraphs, he's saying "So somewhere around 66% of communication with people is nonverbal". So we've got 2/3rds "what is being said" and 2/3rds "nonverbal".

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Sounds like self-published self-edited crapola.

Just for kicks I showed my fourteen-year-old daughter the beginning of the first clip, when Chase starts talking about Erin Caffey. His non-verbals told my (untrained, but just sharp) teenage daughter that he was uncomfortable and insecure.

I can't see this guy as a savvy military interrogator, if he cannot even relax in a friendly chat with his fanboy.

Scepsis and critical thinking should be taught in schools. Never take anything anyone says at face value.
