I ran across this article about the most and least attractive male hobbies, and I know this topic has been discussed here before, so I thought I'd post it for those who are interested. The main list is from a survey of women, who chose what the most attractive hobbies were. I'm guessing "Archery" and "Blacksmithing" are on here because they imply a certain level of strength and musculature. The one that most surprises me is Astronomy.

The best hobby is the one you enjoy without caring about other people's opinions.

Although it seems my private passions and hobbies are considered attractive in the eyes of women (writing, reading, classic martial arts, cooking, shibari), that was not a consideration when I took up these activities.

Am I reading this correctly? Women consider drinking and getting high unattractive? Haha! Times must be changing considering back in the 90s the young men with the most women in my area were beer guzzlers and pot heads.

I’m sure women are so turned off by the heavy drinking of cops and firemen. Lol.

Nothing reported by women should be taken seriously. Nothing! If a woman wants to screw you, and will not give a flying f-ck about your hobbies or your political or other beliefs. And actually the more deviant the one’s hobbies are, the more she like the guy!

What’s next? Women reporting they like a kind and intelligent guy? Haha.

I'm a kind, intelligent guy, women like me. You just can't act like a simp or a syncophant.

Great thread for discussion.
I would want to see an age demographic, I would imagine others seeing different perspectives from their 20’s through their 30’s.

To add:
Astronomy is what women delve on because they need a sense of direction, regardless if it is proven or not. I’ve had great success with spiritual and astronomical talks

I thought motorcycle riding would have been a hobby women would have listed near the top as most attractive.

Yes, this basically confirms what we already know: you need to build her a world, given that you let her enter yours and give her a position, or in other ways.
If you show them something, allow them to enter your world, and give them a role, she will feel satisfied—whether you’re talking about selling toilet paper or being a drug dealer.

I’m the same, and those who know me would affirm that. I have a woman, have been liked by some women, but I don’t consider myself as desirable by many women generally. And I am convinced that’s partly because I am a square.

I'm surprised clubbing, marijuana, and drinking are on the list of unattractive hobbies. From what I've seen, men who partake in those hobbies have an easy time getting a woman.

I'm also surprised that comic books only barely made the list of unattractive hobbies. I'd guess comic books are perhaps the least attractive hobby.

After all, who's going to struggle more with the ladies? A real life Sheldon Cooper (comic book fanatic)? Or a man who goes clubbing and smokes weed?

Makes me question the validity of the list.

A real life Sheldon type.

What women say they want and what they actually want are 2 different things.

The least attractive male hobbies for attracting women are things like Dungeons & Dragons, comics, nerdy/techy stuff (think STEM workers).

Motorcycles and automotive stuff weren't among the most attractive. Swimming is a good hobby and attractive but I don't think men who recreationally swim laps are the guys who get laid most easily.

It's interesting that comic books are so frowned upon. The Marvel movies were extremely popular for a good space there, and that included some female fans as well. Not as many as males though, Disney/Marvel Studios trying to emphasize the female superheroes over the males was a huge mistake and misreading of their audience. At this point, aside from the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, I couldn't care less about the MCU.

But it makes me wonder where chess would fall on the list. Probably pretty low, but there are some females who play chess, and the Queen's Gambit series probably brought some in.

That gives me a funny thought. I wonder how many of the women surveyed confused Astronomy with Astrology? PUA gurus used to always advise using hokum like Astrology to fascinate women.

Don't get me wrong, I've never claimed to be a PUA, a Chad, a swordsman, or a superstud or whatever you want to call it. But I can get women. And I would never compromise my principles by pretending to be a jerk in order to attract women. If that was what was necessary to attract women, I would do without. Fortunately, that is not my experience. I will playfully act jerkish on occasion, but I use that particular seasoning very lightly.

I have a bookcase full off European comics/graphic novels (like Milo Manara, Moebius, Hugo Pratt, Franquin, Walthèry) and a few American comics (Calvin & Hobbes, Pogo, Krazy Kat), that I've been collecting since I was 10-12 years old.

While most women are not really attracted to my collection, a few enjoyed perusing them, and my collection never negatively influenced my attractiveness. However, I'm not a Comic Con nerd, so maybe the data (which seems to be based on American women, not European) wouldn't see my collection as 'comix collector'.

Astrology or Astronomy? I've found a lot of women like astrology.
