I kind of left the game before all the Roosh stuff kicked in. I was married by then etc.
I wonder where he took the game from where Ross/DavidD/Mystery and Neil Strauss took it?

The Roosh forum helped me through a big breakup. I was confused as to why women can be cruel and why being nice did not help make people real friends, man and women. I've come a long way since then. I have a much better network of people and am overall happier cause I found my manhood. That forum really helped me. Roosh didn't make that forum what it was. The users did.

That forum greatly improved my life. I was an afc always putting women on a pedestal and going through mini depressions every time I got rejected until I stumbled upon rvf. It was an incredible community of men helping each other deal with women.

I also lurked a lot Everything Else on Roosh V forum. This forum has been the only replacement I have found.
I think many ex-Roosh V Forum lurkers/participants made their way to SoSuave after Roosh's Christianity conversion/banning seduction talk in 2019.

Roosh's forum was the biggest differentiator compared to other game forums in that it talked about different cities and the women in them. It also told you what cities were good for meeting women and which ones sucked. You could talk about different cultures of women and it accepted the fact that your results could vary a lot based on what city or country you were in. No other PUAs were admitting this. Roosh and his forum taught me the importance of different cultures and locations when it came to game.

His hit piece on Toronto was truly one of the best ever in the history of game. I had interacted with so many Canadians at the time, especially the women, and had no idea WTF was going on and why they were so odd. It was because of Roosh and the community that I quickly learned what was up. It was always good to talk to dudes about what is up with a certain city and why women are how they are there.

That piece might have had staying power because Toronto has had a bad reputation in the Manosphere for a long time. It is possible that Toronto had a bad reputation prior to Roosh's hit piece.

Roosh was a traveler and had both blog posts and books on locales for sex. He had books like "Bang Iceland" and "Bang Ukraine". He traveled to both Eastern Europe and South America.

You and I have started city profile threads on SoSuave about Dallas, Phoenix, Miami, Atlanta, and New York City.

I absolutely loved how the members on there made detailed datasheets for countries/cities with other members tuning in and adding to it with their experiences as well, sometimes even meeting up while out there traveling. Even though I ain't much of a traveler myself, I enjoyed looking up each country on the forum and reading about it just for the fun of it.

Still haven't found anything like it to this day. I miss the old Roosh and his website/forum so much. Hope everything is going well for him now.

Yeah myself included. I was never a member but would often find myself lurking on there often when in mood for learning about foreign women or game or even male self-improvement sometimes. Then recently I wanted to find a place similar to that forum and SoSuave was the closest I could find and also the biggest/most active one as well.

Elements of the old Roosh forum can be found on SoSuave. Enjoy your journey as a participant on this forum!

Roosh's forum was ahead of it's time he had quality content, it's crazy to me how we went from Roosh to Andrew Tate. Andrew Tate only gets ratest by these young guys who are impressionable. Roosh's forum actually did the ground work for regular guys to improve and not some millionaire fantasy for little kids to be "Top Gs" by a guy who only cares to fleece these young kids wallets.

Back in the day there was a brotherhood to get better, now forums are gone and RP/Game content on youtube is all about arguing with OF chicks or men talking about looks

Very well put. Since Roosh became Christian and disowned his original work and old self pre-2019 I honestly felt the community lost its leader and hasn't been the same ever since. I respect his religious beliefs and their value to him, but I felt the "secular guy with spiritual curiosity" fit him and his style much better, as he wasn't only about PUA but also personal development and social/societal criticism. I loved reading the blog posts on his website and watching his YouTube videos on different subjects.

I joined RooshVs forum in 2017 and it was by far the most cutting edge place for high level discussions about women and game, not just the surface level 2000s era PUA autismo macho-posturing drivel that is mostly seen here. Sadly, in less than 2 years after joining he went down that "God pill" path and then straight up closed the website. There is no replacement to it, and it's a big loss. The death of so many internet message boards/forums in general (like imdb message board) is a huge loss to discourse, nothing else comes close nowadays.

Since the thread has been revived I will go further back. My days as a PUA were before the Roosh forum, although I did read and like articles of his. I was in the final stages of developing my system from 2004-2006 (soon before I got married).

I was very active on the old Mass Seduction forum (MASF) that was a fantastic forum with a great group of guys. There was a point (most left by the time Strauss' The Game came out) where a lot of the old greats were on that forum.

We had a ranking system starting from AFC to PUG (Pick Up Guru...one above PUA) that was determined by other member votes.

By the time I committed fully to my now wife she printed out 36 pages of field reports of all the women I had back then including her. It didn't matter by then because she was in love with me, but I did have to get off the forum.

Too bad it is gone, it was a great forum.

EDIT: Holy Snit, it seems some of it has been archived...good stuff! guide. archives

I liked the data sheets for travel. There was a lot of great information there.

Roosh's early blog posts were entertaining. He is a talented and curious writer who isn't afraid to question things. Nevertheless I always got the feeling there was a hole in his life. He went from obsessing over pickup to the manosphere to God. It always sounded extreme to me but what do I know. Still, a lot of great writing when he was at his peak, before he started buying into himself as a crusader. Then it just became about publicity stunts.

Roosh going from the most hardcore pickupper (books 'Bank ukraine', 'Bank columbia'...) to suddenly going to hardcore extreme christian ('living at home with your parents is good cause it keeps you from masturbating and bringing home girls') is just so cracy insane )
Extremism i guess is the common denominator.

I had a cracy long thread there about my first philippines travel, was sorry to see it deleted because of nostalgia reasons
