This is periodically brought up, so I thought I’ll share my extensive experience from communities in latin dance, primarily from Norway and Sweden. I’d say that this is specific to Scandinavia, other cities can differ significantly, maybe even Stockholm.

Taking dance classes is a good way to build social competence, due to that these communities are socially intense. A lot of basics, becoming more comfortable with oneself, style, etc. Beginner classes have many young girls and is hence one possible venue.

However, what characterises these environments is that most people are in processes. The girls are there for the ultimate validation: being a dance princess. Hence it’s a hard environment to game, they’re there for their dreams, validation and later on they run the carousel of social status, reputation, gossip, etc.

Most men are rather harmless. Some are feminine (don’t survive at all, if you get my drift), since dancing is the “true gentleman’s activity” in archaic western values you find white knights, and nerds. But also good guys.

I have friends in these environments, but it’s a hard place for the average rake. One possibility is to be really good looking and a great dancer, meaning you pass for what the dance princessess are looking for, hence possible to have a girlfriend in this social circle. It’s hard to become that dance prince, I am definitely not, and also lack height.

There’s a lot of mothers or girls with boyfriends, that the “men” gladly supply with their evening entertainment or are friends with. I dance with some of these too though to a limited extent, after all dancing is a social nice thing.

In conclusion, despite that these dances reek sensuality and romance, my experience is that both sexes are too stuck up to engage, or use it as a place for leisure.

These are my observations about the use of dance classes in the United States.

In general, dancing classes are a loss leader. They are useful to take to get good enough in a style of dance and then go to a club that plays that style of music and has a dance floor. The classes themselves directly won't result in many actual dates. A man will need to go to a nightlife venue itself with a dance floor and meet women there.

The problem is that classes themselves usually are not a good way to meet women. A lot of the female attendees of dance classes are not dateable women for a variety of reasons. If a dance class effort leads to finding sex or girlfriends, it often isn't directly due to the dance classes. A man took dance classes long enough to get good at a particular style of dance, went to a nightlife venue for this style of dance, and then met a woman/women at these nightlife venues. This would be most common in salsa/Latin class or Country Western dancing.

If dancing is a central part of a seduction effort, the main barrier to entry is the time that it takes to learn the style of dance well. If a man is trying to learn a dance style as an adult, it's a competition with a lot of other priorities in life. That's a time commitment that competes with work, social time with friends, gym time, and other possible activities that could be done in order to get laid/get a girlfriend. It may take something like 1 - 3 years to get good enough at that style of dance to do well in the nightlife venues using dance as a form of seduction. Most men want a quicker return on effort when they need to get laid or get an extended girlfriend.

As a Latin man as well, the whole point of dance classes is to use those skills in the field.

I am assuming that since you are Nordic there is not many Spanish clubs over there. The whole premise is that, when you are at a party, you ask the girl if she wants to dance with you. Most girls just sit around waiting for someone to ask them to dance. Then you dance with her. After the dance, if she likes your vibe, then you can talk to her and get to know each other on a friendly or romantic level. This is for salsa, bachata, merengue, and other dances. There are also grinding parties, or "perreo" where people that do not know how to dance can also dance as well.

That is how systematically these things work.

I'm latino and I dance, I imagine you're not. What a load of bs you posted in here man, honestly. You got into dance classes for the wrong reasons, that's why you're whining in this post just like @SW15
Hi All_Kindz_Of_Gainz,

Just to be clear, I wrote about "dance classes and dance communities". By communities I mean the dancers in the city who meet at bars, clubs, the beach, etc, to dance. Hence I discuss both classes and "going out" in a dance context, in the sense that dance people do that in Scandinavia.

Total bs, she is the princess if you want her to be, if you know spins and figures, if a man doesn't know how to dance she will not be a princess, men lead latin dance always.

What does that have to do with you? Are you homosexual? Why are you looking what other men are?
I find context relevant. If the competition is better, will I get AMOG'd, will some white knight come whining if I kino, etc. I like your point of caring less about others, surely makes one a better seducer.

Really good looking? Wtf man, just ve your best self. Also, you become s great dancer practicing, with everyone, alone in your house, watching videos. Again, you joined for the wrong reasons, you failed from the start.

Boohoooo the same reason every men say when they fail with women. "I'm not that tall, I'm gonna cry"
Yeah, boohoo. Having height is an advantage. Water is wet.

Again, you joined for the wrong reasons. I really like dancing, and when you dance for example bachata, you can get her close to you, you can touch her, you can smile at her, you do waves, you can dance very close in a romantic way. Dancing is very romantic, you didn't get that experience causes it was a covert contract. "If I join the dance community, I will swimming in puzz" you joined for the girlzas not because you have a passion for it. Hence.... Failure
That was a lot of assumptions. I danced tango a lot (was in Buenos Aires and Europe), currently primarily bachata. I enjoy dancing as well, and I guess we're spoiled in the sense that, as you say, we can get fairly intimate with a girl easily. However, I want more than that, and this forum is not about dancing, it's about game.

Yeah, Scandinavia hasn't progressed that far. The communities "go out", clubs, bars, the beach, etc, but it doesn't go beyond the dance nerd thing. I think they all strive and secretly want the whole experience, but they don't dare. In Buenos Aires tango is huge and ingrained in their way of living, it's a way to socialise. The Scandinavians are not like that, they are like "rule followers", it's to a much larger thing a fitness/school exercise thing.

Here's a little inspiration for the guys that would rather make schitt happen than make excuses......

After I got divorced I started hanging out in country dance bars. I didn't even know how to dance and was a little intimidated by the idea. The allure for me was most of these venues were usually stacked with hot girls, plus I liked the music. Eventually I got enough courage to ask a few girls to dance. I set a goal to dance with 2 girls per night. I kept at it and had a lot of fun.

I finally started going to dance lessons. The girls in the class weren't desirable but I got a little better at dancing and had even more fun.

As I got better I danced with hotter girls and enjoyed myself even more. I've lost track of the amount of girls I've met on the dance floor, and many of them I took home home that night. Its been the absolute easiest way to pick up girls that I've ever tried. If the connection was there I'd always ask for her number. Dancing is the fastest way to turn a woman on. You can break down so many barriers if there is a connection. Dancing is the ultimate form of cold approach which can produch solid results.

I've had girls seek me out to dance. I've had them ask for my number. The girls that really like you come ask to dance multiple times a night.

The best night of my life was when I was at a big country dance bar. The auto show was in town that weekend and a limousine dropped off 12 fine looking models from out of town that were working the auto show. I danced with every single one of them. One right after another.

I've seen over weight guys, skinny guys, short guys all have success with attractive women because they were good dancers.

The majority of the guys at a country bar never had dance lessons, aren't really that great(neither am I). The women certainly don't know how to dance. Most of them can be lead, some can't. All a person needs is a little rhythm and to loosen up enough to move your hips and flow. You don't need to spend hours in lessons.

Get yourself out of your comfort zone, you might be surprised by what happens. And you certainly don't have to be from the country or dress like a cowboy to dance country.

Next, we'll be learning that child rearing classes in rural Uganda more often than not end with the hut floors drenched in gallons of blood, and covered in viscera by the sh-tton  ;)

Sorry to read that you've found salsa dancing unsatisfying in your neck of the woods, hoss. My experience with them has always been terrific. Clearly, life varies by region

I've also taken dance classes. I've also experienced that in 'normal' classes you can't really pick up chicks, since most have BFs, some are not attractive and others are incredibly bad at it. I also got spectacularly amoged by a dude, which apparantly was a really good dancer. Which is also frustrating for me, since I'm also a good dancer. At least the female instructor told me that, when we danced a bit.
I also think that being handsome, tall, a good dancer are way more important than being muscular and having game. Which means you have to invest in it to see results.

About nightlife venues, I don't know any in my area. I'm also not sure if they're a thing here in europe. Therefore working on dance-skills (at least in those partner-dances) might not yield you a ROI in terms of fcking. Prob. it makes more sense doing Hip-Hop/Breakdance for actual clubs. Also there's the issue with a reputation that you get when you hit on too many girls.

Obviously there are a lot of benefits of dancing, like the exposure to interactions with women. And it's a good skill, but also kinda niche.

As the wise man said, 'Dancing is like vertical intercourse with your clothes still on.'

The Dutch are not known for being natural dancers. My wife and I were looking for something new to do together as a couple and she wanted to take dance lessons, but I had to choose the dance. Since we had a D/s marriage, I wanted a traditional strong sensual dance that celebrated that masculine / feminine dynamic and chose Argentine Tango. I enjoyed the courses, which not just brought me closer to my wife, but also showed her that I was desired when the instructor asked me, when we started at the second course, if I would be available to dance with single ladies on other nights...

The Dutch tango community organises regular tango salons. Dancing tango with a woman tells you a lot about how willing she is to be feminine and follow your lead. And many younger women enjoy dancing with older experienced dancers who let them shine on the dance floor.

This is an aphrodisiac to women, man. I've had several instances where people were recording is how we danced and men asking me how I learned and things like that, its a huge boost in social status
Yes, they can shine and strut their stuff on the dance floor, so I can assess how they will behave between the sheets.

Hi Anonymous,
There is a massive difference between Latin Dancing and Formal Ballroom dancing....The Latins are great at extemporising, the Teutonic races like order...A Man may win Medals and be considered an Ace on the Ballroom Floor yet struggle picking up even the fundamentals of Argentine Tango, which is a very tough Dance to master, particularly for Male Leaders.

Hi Amsterdam,
Your ability to pick up the Tango so quickly,is a reflection of your uninhibited approach to life....When I commenced Lessons 20 or so years ago,I went to classes with about 15 other guys,I repeated the lessons twice,so probably about 35 different Guys were involved, two years later, though there were still several of the Female followers still on the scene,I was the only Guy standing, the attrition level was horrific.

whining in this post just like @SW15
I don't believe that I was whining in my post. I believe that my post was reasonable. Dancing is more of a longer term effort to get laid. I've felt that it has value as a longer term.

@Mike32ct has mentioned he took dance classes and didn't get much in the way of dates or sex from them. I don't recall how much he went out to dance-centered nightlife venues in addition to the dance classes. The real outcomes happen at the dance-centered nightlife venues.

After I got divorced I started hanging out in country dance bars. I didn't even know how to dance and was a little intimidated by the idea. This is a good story and an inspirational story.

The story illustrates what I said above that dancing is a commitment and a longer term effort.

It is good that you found a type of music that you like, made a commitment to it, and stuck with it long enough to see results.

Playing sports is one thing I've been passionate about for a long enough term. Sadly, the so-called "female friendly sports" I'm involved in are actually more of a sausage fests among serious participants in the sport. Dancing is likely to have the advantage of having better ratios than most sports. Dancing communities are likely a better option than most co-ed sports leagues.

Especially with transgender 'athletes' infiltrating women's sports. They won't have that type of 'success' at a tango salon.

I have a basic problem with dancing. An embarrassing one: I immediately get hard down there.
There's nothing I can do about it, it's physiological.
I wonder how'd others do..

I do too, if I'm dancing bachata I do this "head roll move" so she can feel it, and they get horny as fvck. Try it

If she is into you she'll love knowing you are turned on by her. It happens to me with hot girls when I know there is a connection. In fact the girl I am dating now I met dancing and she gave me a hard-on the first time. I wasn't worried about hiding it.
