I think I just spoke to a tranny that was a customer service agent

Xe was helping me out on something a colleague of xers needed from me, and as this colleague and I had an E-mail conversation going on, I wanted to tell that colleague that the tranny would be sending the colleague some files - and in the text, I wanted to use a pronoun to refer to the tranny ... but I didn't know which one to use (or whether the ambiguous "xe" would even be understood). so I just structured the sentence to not use any pronouns, LOL.

Now, I say tranny, but xe sounded like an effeminate man that was trying to speak in an upper register the way that trannies do. Who knows, maybe xe was a cis-female? And I have been noticing more & more customer reps that sounds like this guy gal.

Dont say "cis-female" or "xe". That's entering their frame. Its what they want

I had expected something like "I just spoke to a customer service agent. I didn't care about their gender, I wasn't chatting them up.", not this weak 'what pronoun should I use so I don't offend a deluded person'-shyte...

It's a strange world we live in. I've been noticing more and werewolves patronizing Trader Vics, each time I stop by. And their hair is inevitably perfect

Call them whatever they sound like to your gut feeling.

NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT...I was eating a big dish of beef chow mein and listening to a story about a little old lady that got mutilated late last night, so weird.

Sadly, unless Charles plans to get a sex change anytime soon, we won't see Lon Chaney or Jr walking with The Queen :mad:

It's not like they're rare these days.

A vanishingly small portion of our species is genuinely trans. The sort of gender bending that was hip in the sensitive 70s

Has just made something of a return*. Only difference today: It's easier than ever to carry the fad to it's logical(Albeit irrational)extent, by surgically altering one's body

*Quote: "In 1970s disco fashion, hippie looks got jazzed up, and the square got funky. John Travolta's white three-piece suit from Saturday Night Fever was a disco spin on very traditional men's attire. Both genders seemed to take style tips from each other. Men could primp and tend to their hair without seeming unmasculine, while women sought a stylish comfortability and freedom better for dancing), epitomized by the Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress. And if you didn't want to stick to one gender, that was ok too -- gender-bending and androgyny were always in style at the Mecca of disco, New York City's Studio 54"

Not sure what you mean by "genuinely", but you can see people cross dressing in some form or other about every time you go out these days. And by go out I mean go run errands, do some grocery shopping, etc.

But it's hard not to notice when someone is right in your face.
You don't look through them? For me they're transparent.

I would have said he. Always use your intuition. If a man happens to really sound like a woman, I'll call them she cause I wouldnt be none the wiser, thus respect they managed to fool me. But most of them cannot voice pass. If anything, women tend to sound like a man sometimes rather than the other way around.
