This is Selena's concert back in 2015. The music video she made with the music seemed like some sort of soft core porn.

You would have expected it to have been more guys that would have been into a song like that with an actual live concert, but was surprized that it's mainly hot young women attending there and cheering her on like that. How can these many women be excited over a song like that?

There has been very little or no incidence of boys or men going to a female concert. It is usually mostly women and the men they pull along for a date. Meanwhile, boys and men tend to go to male concerts typically. Think about it, why would men want to go watch a female sing unless he was pulled along by his female acquaintances or gay? Even then, gay men would rather go see a man at a concert.

I see what you are saying. Probably more guys will be viewing the "softcore porn" music video she made rather than be interested in attending her concerts. At least we know it's not gay to look at that because at least is like softcore porn within a singing lady instead of a fapping one. Much like the ASMR videos. What is nice on a music video may not be the same way in a concert. Very often when I look at a music video I love, and then see the same thing in taped concert, it's comes across as very blah compared to the video.

Is it gay to use a gay man as your avatar?

Oh, I didn't know that. That avatar was changed prior to 2020 when there were racially heated arguements on this section. I got fed up with some of the arguments and made sure I put a Black actor as an avatar. Now that the rules are better enforced by admin, and I'm not seeing the same heated racial arguments on here like before. Therefore, I'll just follow the trend that others are doing and just leave as one letter.

Only girls in middle school could mistake that insipid crud for "music". THAT'S why we don't find many males of any age at concerts like that

That song was recorded in '15. Today, the line "Let me show me how proud I am to be yours" would trigger many folks into a meltdown, the rationale being: "Selena Gomez is promoting Patriarchal Oppression, by openly reveling in the fact that she belongs to a man like property"

She's YOURs when it's YOUR turn. Lets not kid ourselves.

Back to my point...

When Good For You was released in '15, Gomez and her co-writers conceptualized the song as follows: "Its come-hither lyrics have intensity, psychodrama, self-confidence, and female empowerment as main themes, dealing with pleasing her lover and being the perfect complement for him" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_for_You_(Selena_Gomez_song) None of which prevented the song from gaining popularity or topping the charts

Today, by contrast, a substantial portion of America is guaranteed to have an instantaneous meltdown, at the mere suggestion that a woman pleasing her lover/being the perfect complement for him = "Female empowerment". We wouldn't see an up-and-coming pop singer crooning out a tune like that, amid a sea of enthusiastic tweens, on live TV in the middle of Time Square

Our cultural climate between then and today has changed drastically, so much so that the early-mid 10s and '16-today might as well be different two different planets

Just another submissive woman wanting to look good for her man. I fail to see how her fans are lesbians... This is just an insipid teenybopper song. Viewing that clip as 'softcore porno' shows the mental level of the viewer.

Yep; That song was also released the year 50 Shades The Movie broke the bank at the box office
A movie tie-in. Figures. I don't know much about her (my taste in music runs the other way), but isn't she one of those Disney clones like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera? I doubt if she writes or even chooses her own material.

To be fair, even back in '15, there were folks decrying the song as "problematic" and "insufficiently feminist" https://compassionthemovement.wordp...irst issue is that, crutch for your self worth

Difference between then and today: Almost EVERY mainstream publication reads like those two articles

Is it bad that IDGAF? I rarely read mainstream publications and I don't care about these manufactured celebrities.

Any environment where the press is intimidated into carrying a party line isn't healthy. Here in The US, we went through a more mild version of this in The 2000s... From late '01-'09, it was impossible to say anything critical about The War On Terror, without being labelled a Fifth Column Jihadi. Thus, The MSM pretty much served as unofficial spokespeople for The Pentagon

Yes, I know about that, I have American friends and we talked pretty much daily about 9/11 and the aftermath.
