Is there a way to stop women from wanting to live with me?

I keep running into this and in the past, women always get around to wanting to live together. Hell, I had a woman years ago who I was dating and she got evicted from her apartment and wanted to move her, her mother and her kid in with me. Needless to say I said hell no to that and ofcourse she broke it off with me after that. That was a long time ago though. But even now, I’ll be dating a woman and she eventually gets around to “what if you moved in with me”. I don’t want to, I have a house. “What if I sold my house or apartment and moved in with you?” I don’t want to do that. These women also claim they are never ready for marriage but want to live together. Sorry but in my state, if you live with someone for 6 months guess what…..you’re married common law style. She gets mail delivered to your house? You’re screwed. She can legally kick you out of your own place. Why do women think I want to sign up to play house?

Hi Robert,
Great to see a veteran poster again....Here in Queensland a few years ago we saw a progression on our Draconian Family Laws, when a Married Guy who had been regularly visiting a Lady of questionable virtue for some years, was successfully sued by her when he chose to end his relationship, she claimed she was dependent on the money!

Absolutely!!! Stop bathing, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, forego deodarant, use nothing but toilet paper to clean your a-s, become morbidly obese, and a die-hard gamer, who mistakes everything he hears from TheQuartering, Tim Pool, and some other manbaby who still calls himself Sargon for The Gospel Truth

Chicks will flee from you, faster than a pregnant Uyghur sprints away, the moment she spots a Red Army patrol trucking down the road

I'm continually aghast by the number of guys here in '24 who admit outright to rarely, if ever, washing their rear ends. Kevin Samuels(Peace Be Upon him) and Antonio Centeno of Real Men, Real Style were both compelled to put forth videos emphasizing the importance of the subject, it's become that much of a problem

She can't kick you out of a house that is in your name only, community-property or non-community-property state. That said, she could definitely get child support, and even a bit of alimony, although a short-term common-law marriage wouldn't apply (she'd have to basically spend all of her youth with you).

Tell them that if you move them in, you have to move in your other girlfriends as well.

Easy. Move to a state where the laws aren't like that. Duh.

This may cut down the girls you date, but pre-frame them as soon as you meet them.

Tell them you broke up with your last girlfriend, with whom you had a FANTASTIC relationship, because she wanted to move in together.

This is the natural step for any woman to take who wants your STR/LTR to progress. She will insist on the move in. It is similar to the discussion about becoming "exclusive." You can essentially stave it off for a period of time -- how long will depend on the woman. But if you continually refuse, rest assured that eventually she will pull the plug on your LTR when it becomes obvious you aren't willing to progress it.

I think you are doing the right thing by refusing. Just understand that these relationships are finite and you will shorten their life spans by not being willing to let them move in with you.

There is a way. Do not be a boyfriend or employee of a woman or play house with one. Don’t be in a “relationship,” nearly all of which are worthless. Naturally a woman is going to eventually want to live with the man she is with. So to avoid that you keep interactions at going no further than casual sex. That’s it. Or see legal escorts.

No way to stop it. It's in their programming. Just drag out every stage of the relationship as long as possible. When it ends, go find another. Wash, rinse, repeat.

It's really not such a bad deal. It's a good way to upgrade to a younger model.

I know a guy who did this and eventually got into a LTR that led to cohabitation and marriage. His situation might be an outlier situation.

In general, I would think not cleaning your bathroom would prevent longer term relationships from forming. I think what @Robert28 would like is to have a longer term girlfriend but not live with her. In doing that, he's able to get regular sex. Not cleaning the bathroom wouldn't help with his goals.

Stop dating women. That's honestly the only way.

Realistically after a while they want to progress the relationship and moving in is one way to do it.

It's up to you to set boundaries and allow them to progress it in "other" ways to satisfy them.

Always a give and take...you can't just say no and then not allow it to progress any other way either, at that point it reaches a wall and there is no way past it so after a while they simply give up.

It's called diplomacy and tact...you always want to get more than you give but you have to give something.
