In SF. The ‘singles’ grocery store was the Marina Safeway. Until a homeless guy took a dump on the floor.
San Francisco is filled with homeless people. This seems typical for San Francisco.

I can only imagine what kind of low quality woman would fall for a cheesy PUA line in a grocery store.
,it's NOT flattering. It's not insulting either, it's not anything.

The guys doing it are practicing their 'Day Game' per Roosh, with a big fat G.
I have done many grocery store approaches. I've never used a cheesy PUA line or gotten rejected harshly. Most interactions have involved a short lasting conversation that goes nowhere. It does not result in an offer to get together being made. It isn't much of anything other than two human beings having a meaningless interaction. I do these approaches in a socially calibrated manner.

Some women mistakenly believe he's singled her out, that she must be "special" - more beautiful, more extraordinary than other women - such women are delusional imo.

He's simply out Gaming for the day, most savvy women know this.
I have been complimented by women for approaching them in non-bar venues. They've expressed positive feelings about meeting someone in such an unexpected way. It is because I made the interaction look completely natural.

Now if she had given him a 'window,' some sort of IOI as I've done before he approached or asked for her number, that would be entirely different.
I agree that this would be different. This rarely happens for most men. The majority of my non-bar approaches have been without a strong IOI like this. It is an ideal scenario when a strong IOI is shown. I'm most excited to make the approaches involving a strong IOI first.

the guys who boldly approach random women, out shopping or doing their thing minding their own business?

Nothing flattering about that in the least and I just keep walking....
This is more typical of non-bar approaches in any non-bar venue. I try to make my approaches look as non-interruptive and as natural as possible. I've rarely ever encountered anyone who just kept walking. Looks > personality. Reasonably good looking men will not experience harsh rejections in typical non-bar approaches, even without a great opening line. The approaches might not amount to much as I described earlier in this response. Top-tier or 'Chad' tier men are more likely to get more positive responses in non-bar approaching.

The H-E-B closest to me is in Meyerland, and it is fairly high scale. I live a few miles south of there.
As a place for meeting women, do you find H-E-B locations to be better options than either Kroger or Randalls locations?

H-E-B has not typically had a presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, other than the 6 Central Market locations I mentioned. Most of those Central Markets have been open many years. There was a new Central Market opened in Dallas in 2018 in what was a former Albertsons location (see note below).

The main H-E-B brand has now entered Dallas-Fort Worth and it was a significant event. The first H-E-B in DFW opened in September 2022 in Frisco. 18 months later (this writing in March 2024), there are now 4 H-E-Bs in northern Dallas suburbs. 1 in Frisco, 1 in Plano, 1 in McKinney, and 1 in Allen. H-E-B seems to be targeting the more affluent northern suburbs with a lot of transplant families from other areas. Frisco, Allen, and McKinney have grown immensely since 2000 and even 2010. Plano's most explosive growth phase occurred between 1980-2000, but it has still experienced some growth in the last 15-20 years. The northern parts of Plano near the Frisco border is where most of Plano's recent growth has been. The Plano H-E-B location is in that area.

The 4 H-E-B locations in northern Dallas suburbs are not likely to be good grocery stores for approaching women. Frisco, Plano, McKinney, and Allen are all family oriented suburbs. There is one small pocket in Plano where there's a singles scene (Shops of Legacy/Legacy West) and divorced, single moms are sprinkled in throughout Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and Allen. There are a few bars around Shops of Legacy/Legacy West where divorced moms are known to be on the prowl.

H-E-B is not likely to come to the more Central Dallas type neighborhoods, which will continue to be served by Central Market.

I stopped into an H-E-B once in the Weatherford area (about 25 miles west of Downtown Fort Worth) when I was with a Fort Worth friend. I didn't think it was that much different than a Kroger. I wasn't impressed but I wasn't unimpressed. That H-E-B location wouldn't have been good for approaching women.

As a side note to the discussion above, the Albertsons brand name has never done well in Dallas - Fort Worth. Tom Thumb (an Albertsons owned brand) has done well. Tom Thumb in DFW is the equivalent of Houston's Randalls.

Yes I do go to central market. It’s in River Oaks. I have family that lives fairly close to there.
How do you think Central Market compares to Whole Foods, both as a grocery shopping experience and as a place to approach women and arrange dates?

Houston Tx.
The location of the Central Market is a very affluent area. Most of the Whole Foods are also. So I would say about the same. A lot of interesting women.
some Krogers are okay depending on location. I have not been to a Randels in years.
There is a Kroger and Randels a mile from my house but I drive 3 miles to the HEB.
HEB has a better selection of everything than either one of the others. And more interesting women.

Now if she had given him a 'window,' some sort of IOI as I've done before he approached or asked for her number, that would be entirely different.
This is bullshiit, and such a failure's mentality.

Suppose the woman is shy and therefore isn't going around batting her eyes or twirling her hair and gazing in the direction of the guy she finds attractive?

Then what?

No IOI's will be given, therefore none will be detected by the man..causing both the man and the woman to lose out on an opportunity.

As a man and true alpha, you don't wait around like a sissy pansy little BYTCH for a woman to give you choosing signals or IOI's.

You walk boldly and confidently to her and say WHAT'S UP?!?

IOI's or not.

But the guys who boldly approach random women, out shopping or doing their thing minding their own business?

Nothing flattering about that in the least and I just keep walking....

$.02.
Most of the women I bagged (pun intended; grocery store reference), were from grocery store day game...and they were all random women out shopping doing their thing minding their own business.

A couple weeks ago, I was at a grocery store in the self checkout line.

I saw a big titty mature Black woman enter the store.

So what did I do?

I left the line and went after her.

I caught up with her in an aisle.

She was in an aisle and was turning her cart around, and when she turned around, there I was standing there...boldly and confidently.

I began to spit that alpha shiit to her, and she was intrigued.

There was a lady vendor in the same aisle stocking the shelves not to far us, and the vendor began looking at me (us) and put on a smile, the smile was "look at this guy, doing his thang".

And I gave her my #, and she contacted me.

Just like that.

I ain't waiting on no damn IOI's.

That's for suckas!!

I am a man, I make shiit happen.

The ideal situation is to have IOIs. Most approaches will be without IOIs shown first for most men. I disagree with the idea with only doing approaches with an initial IOI first. That said, approaches without IOIs are less likely to lead to desired outcomes.

Somewhere in the 2011-2013 time frame, I remember making the observation that Millennial White women were poor at body language signaling. When I made this observation, it was an observation made based on experiences in both non-bar venues (including grocery stores) and nightlife venues. I think the smartphone/social media era has reduced in-person IOIs for many people. I think the observation that I made in the early 2010s still has merit today. I noticed a reduction in IOIs shown to me in the 2011-2013 era as compared to 2004-2006 (immediately before smartphones and when social media was in its infancy).

In 2024, Millennials are now older. The observation that I was making in the 2011-2013 was an observation on 1980s born Millennials in the 20s and even the oldest about to turn 30. In 2024, the oldest Millennials will turn 43 and the youngest will turn 28. Being as though I am an early Millennial, more of my interactions with the older part of the generation.

I have approached a few Gen Z's as well. Gen Z's have a reputation for having even weaker social skills than Millennials. I can't imagine most Gen Z's are good at signaling either.

@We_ArE_VeNOM is also an earlier Millennial too. He and I tend to go after different women. The majority of my approaches are White women but I do approach some Hispanic women. @We_ArE_VeNOM is more into Black women.

Central Market and Whole Foods have a similar shopper profile. They are about equal in terms of approaches. In Dallas, some Central Markets and Whole Foods are near each other.

From a shopping perspective, I like Central Market better so I spend more time there.

When I was more actively doing grocery store approaching in the 2010s as compared to now, I did mix up my grocery store visits when I was in prospect acquisition mode and was at Whole Foods more often.

Neither Central Market nor Whole Foods has been the store where I have arranged the most dates.

some Krogers are okay depending on location.
This is true for both a shopping experience and for an approaching experience.

There are some Krogers around Dallas that I would not recommend for approaching. It's because those Krogers are in areas where there isn't a high concentration of unmarried people near that store location. If a Kroger location is near a high concentration of singles in the area, it will be a good Kroger for approaching.

What I just said is true of any grocery store. Grocery store approaching is very dependent upon venue selection. When choosing a grocery store for approaching, it is a good idea to strongly two characteristics.....

1. A high concentration of unmarried people near that store location. This often goes with having a lot of apartments near the store location.

2. Your preferred target market (demographics and behaviors) tends to shop in that store.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

That's great @We_ArE_VeNOM you do you and glad your style works for you.

Oh and welcome back, was wondering where you went, hope all is well! :)

@SW15 I hear ya re social calibration and I've had some pleasant and interesting conversations with men who approach in a natural way, and not making it appear like a "pick up" which was what I was referring to in my previous in response to @pipeman84 post.

In fact, I dated a man for several months whom I met at the grocery store, in the check out line. He was standing behind me and made a comment about an item in my cart - a bottle of scotch if memory serves, it was very natural.

That one comment led to us having a fun interaction and before I left, he asked for my number. Actually I think we exchanged numbers.

We dated for several months.

As far as IOIs, for me it's very subtle. I mentioned in a different thread, but a quick glance, a soft smile; nothing overt like batting eyelashes or hair twirling... or dropping my hanky and waiting for him to pick it up, LOL like back in my grandmother's day!

Again, subtle. For me, it's natural to do this when I'm attracted. Often times I am not even aware of it, that's how subtle it is!

And if a man is interested, he will approach. It's all very natural.

In the book "Day Bang", Roosh promoted a grocery store tactic in which a man starts the interaction by asking a woman about something in her grocery basket. That was the primary way Roosh encourage men to approach women in grocery stores. By doing that, it looks way more natural.

Within the grocery store, an approach is an aisle is generally more effective than an approach in a check out line. In recent times, a lot of grocery stores are going to individual kiosks of self-checkout. That makes checkout line game even less effective. I have always focused my approaches within the various product aisles. Some product aisles are generally going to be more productive for approaches than others. More fit women tend to be found in produce aisles with fruits and vegetables.

Agree and in the situation I described, we couldn't do self-checkout because we were both purchasing alcohol. And you can't do self-checkout when purchasing alcohol. We talked about that!

Now that I'm recalling this (it was a few years ago) HE was purchasing the scotch, same brand as my dad, and he first commented on the bottle of wine in my cart.

This is interesting. In Texas, only beer and wine can be purchased in typical grocery stores.

If you want spirits like scotch, bourbon, rum, etc., they can only be purchased in liquor stores. There are numerous big liquor store chains in Texas and some smaller name liquor stores.

Liquor store game is applicable in Texas but something that would be a bit off topic for this thread.

I think approaching in an aisle or say while buying fruits and veggies can work. Another member posted about a super funny exchange he had while doing this, he was c0cky and funny and made it look natural (sort of).

So yeah in certain situations when done naturally and not making it appear like a 'pick up' (even though I and most women know it is!), cold approach can work!

Not every woman will respond the same, for example in Venom's world, HIS extremely bold Mode One style of approach obviously works very well for him and the women he approach respond positively to it!

Interesting! I'm in California. There are a few large grocery chains here with a large selection of wine and spirits.

Also, it's possible grocery game is dwindling since now many folks are choosing to purchase their groceries through Instacart, Amazon Fresh and others like.

They don't even need to leave their house anymore! Literally everything one needs can be purchased on line!

Even Walmart has delivery! @We_ArE_VeNOM lol, just teasing, luv ya man! :D

The ideal situation is to have IOIs.
Sure, in a perfect world where you can just walk outside, and every woman you past is going to turn their heads and twirl their hair at you.

I will definitely consider that ideal.

But since the chances of that happening is very slim, we should take it as it comes.

But until then; cold approach it is.

That said, approaches without IOIs are less likely to lead to desired outcomes.
Sure, just like you are less likely to even get IOIs to begin with.

And don't get me wrong, I am certainly not against IOI's.

I've been fortunate to have gotten enough of them over the past couple years...and it is definitely a huge ego booster and can shoot confidence up the roof.

It also has negative effects as well, which I won't get into.

My only point is; IOIs are fine. If you get them, awesome...go after her.

However do not rely SOLEY on them. Most guys aren't getting them enough to rely solely on them.

If you and I go out on a day game hunt, I will approach 10 women and manage to bag 3 of them, while you are walking around and waiting on one choosing signal  .

Facts.

@We_ArE_VeNOM is also an earlier Millennial too. He and I tend to go after different women. The majority of my approaches are White women but I do approach some Hispanic women. @We_ArE_VeNOM is more into Black women.

We agree completely on this.

I'm in California. There are a few large grocery chains here with a large selection of wine and spirits.
When I moved to Texas, I found it odd that spirits were not available in typical grocery store. I then started to go to liquor stores.

The two biggest liquor stores in Texas are Spec's and Total Wine & More. Spec's is based in Houston and has 180 Texas locations. It is only found in Texas. Total Wine is based out of Maryland and operates 265 stores in 28 states. In some states where Total Wine has locations, liquor can be purchased in grocery stores. Arizona is an example of this for Total Wine.

Both Spec's and Total Wine sell beer, wine, and spirits. Although beer and wine are allowed in grocery store, the wine selection in these stores is far more than any grocery store wine section. Two other major players are Twin Liquors/Sigels (Sigels was acquired by Twin Liquors in 2018 - see below) and Goody Goody. Goody Goody has 24 store locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and rural East Texas.

It's difficult for smaller liquor stores in Texas to compete with Spec's, Total Wine, Twin Liquors/Sigel's, and Goody Goody.

This is a valid point about grocery stores and one worth exploring in more depth. Amazon and other online retails have changed mall game (see below for my post in a mall game thread and view the thread in general). Instacart, Amazon Fresh, and others have likely changed grocery store game, but I don't think they've affected grocery shopping as much as online retailers have affected mall shopping. I've not reviewed this in detail.

One of the downsides about ordering grocery delivery is that it is more expensive in general. You'll be paying more for the convenience of Instacart and other delivery services. Replacing a mall visit with Amazon or another online retailer is less likely to be more expensive for its convenience.
