Essentially, it all started by this phrase and idea that was nothing but meaningless jargon.. "Jing Mang Lou".

Sometime's we'd randomly say it to refer to sht without being blatant/obvious.. It was coupled with other silly words like "ching chang"

So we'd be with a set of girls and be something like "yo grab those ching changs, and lets jing mang lou" It would be something like grab our cigars and lets take these hoe.s back to the pad.. We'd finesse and make up sht to the girls that it was some Chinese stuff we learned while abroad.

Before these words we had other like inconspicuous words that were just more English than chinese sounding.

Before you know it sometimes we'd be saying Jing Mang Lou, Jing Jang Joo, Jing Lang Moon.

As these words became more common part of our vernacular.. We'd say it out of excitement or something like.. "Jing Mang Lou, ayy lets get it.. " like "you know those 2 blondes we ran into the other day. yeah they're bou to be here in 20 mins" "aye lets get the jing jang goin" or "ayy praise to Jing Mang Lou"

BUt as these wrods stuck in my head ... I started realizing that I can utilize them for different meanings

Our other was Shing shing Shing.. Which we later adopted to mean "life goes on, everything is constantly moving.. " to never be stuck on one thing or one moment"

So We have the concept now:
3 Brothers and Sages . Jing Mang Lou, Jing Jang Jou and Jing Lang Moon.

Jign Mang Lou is the righteous path, and he reminds us to always Shing Shing, move forward, and that everything is Shing..
Jing Jang Jou, tells us to slow down, take our time, dont act on anything.. to settle down and relax and not occupy ourselves with too much steadfastness.
Jing Lang Moon now.. is the deceiver. Jing Lang Moon will always tell you the most left field thought, idea or cause you to do an action you may later reject.

Jing Lang Moon however, ultimately is the lesson teacher. Through Jing Lang Moon you learn things you didn't know before, and you go steadfast in the face of anxiety/fear. Of course, most likely the outcome will not be favorable... But, whatever you learn, you keep going aka shin sing shing.

Ultimately we still use the words to mean many diff things like Jing.. "Lets Jing" which is a verb "Jing Jangs" which can mean many diff type of things, or jus shoutout Jing Mang Lou Jing Mang Lou as a form of excitement.

Now also, if you are feeling down, confused, angry or frustrated.. instead of going towards God or Satan which are old outdated concepts that you may hold different connotations or dogma towards, Jing Mang Lou feels comforting to go to. In my image he's a wise old Chinese sage, mystical though not really like a human.. If I call out to Jing Mang Lou, I feel like I get some good subconcious feedback from my inner mind.

However, Jing Mang Lou can also be a form of Satan that invaded my mental space.. In history, this idae of Satan had come to people in many many many many diff forms..

While its still some pretty random sht we just spurt out because all of us are living the peak of our lives, successful, living pretty blissfully and it just comes out.. Some of my friends have created more indepth characteristics to the 3 brothers.

I guess I'll be the one to say how lazy and juvenile this all is. Seems my role is to be the bad guy.

You abandoned thousands of years of theology in favor of a hollow belief system you made up yourself, formed on a foundation of drinking buddies saying funny words at each other. Ever heard of Noble Savage? Just because it's exotic to you doesn't mean it's wise, grand, and more civilized.

"Jign Mang Lou is the righteous path, and he reminds us to always Shing Shing, move forward, and that everything is Shing.."
Come on. Do better.

Perhaps your view on "old outdated concepts like God and Satan" should be thought over. How many hours of studying did it take for you to arrive at such a hard declaration? Do you believe our ancestors only casually followed along, and that when they governed themselves to God and Satan they weren't genuine? If so, why? Do you believe they were just primitive and stupid before the science came? Why do you believe concepts of God and Satan just go away? Because time has passed? Because many people lost discipline? These are measurements of a recursive absolute, are they not? They should be time independent, but you think otherwise for some reason.

It sounds like you were raised on baby boomer Christianity comprised of Moralistic Therapeutic Deism, where all the real substance was removed in favor of a simple "just be a good person and be nice to others" messaging used for raising church attendance and televangelism (and because Americans were too multicultural to assert and enforce their own beliefs onto others). It's no wonder you're so far out there that you're picturing wise old Chinese mythical sages repeating your funny words and find it deep enough to contain divine instructions for life. Most of us are like this by default nowadays.

If you want to develop your own belief system:
1. You can't, because you're only a human (and not even the top human)
2. If you tried, it would just be an a la carte of previous belief systems that are convenient today because of 1.

You should strive for something more sophisticated than a plaything between you and your friends. No one will willingly get burned alive defending "life goes on, everything is constantly moving," and I mean burned alive as in real fire melting your eyes. Saint Barbara chose to get tortured to death and locked in a tower by her own father for sticking to her beliefs, which puts me in a spot 600 years later to realize there may be something more than 90's Sublime lyrics to what she was preaching.

If you want to adhere to a proper "belief system" (stop being shy and just say "religion" instead) that will guide you and your family for 10 generations to come, then you need to actually study theology and put the work into it. You'll be a minority within a minority because most of the real substance of Christianity as we know it has been forgotten about since at least 1922 (year that The Wasteland was published). There's no way around doing the work required, and you have to first accept that you really do not have any capability to just "feel it" as if it's something obvious you already understood but couldn't put into words before. You don't do this with abstract algebra, so why do you do it for divine concepts? (The answer is: a lack of respect)

A proper religion is above you and you conform to it's expectations. Never the other way around. Pick one at random each day and finish the article. Treat it like you're memorizing new vocabulary words. You'll eventually jump onto something deeper when you get bored of the list.

Alternatively, just ignore me and say "I'm spiritual but not religious." Read the first chapter and a half of a 1970's Buddhism book and never discipline yourself beyond that. That's the popular response, so you won't ever be lonely.
Your passionate post comes from pure assumption. This is just a loose concept I created out of a fun inside joke kinda thing with friends.

Assumptions make asses out of people. Idk where in my entire post you got that I abandoned thousands of years of theology.. that sht is hilarious.

Youre a great example of when emotion overrides logic.

I think the idea is more that absurdity can be refreshing.

Listen to this song, you'll get the idea:

Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true
Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil
Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet
All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world
So there was only one thing that I could do
Was ding a ding dang my dang a long ling long

(edit - nevermind the Mandela Effect with this song for now lol)

You lost me, I'm a pretty hard guy to lose, this is why if I bring ideas here I tend to break them down into the simplest form of them, easier to consume for everyone and easier to critique.

Biscuit made some decent points although he was a bit coarse in doing so, but I tend to agree that there isn't any sort of foundation you can place under this currently that is going to give it some sort of merit, I think you need to develop whatever your trying to say behind this more so it is consumable for the regular guy. Not to knock your spirit behind this, progress is great but you need to develop it more.

Like brother, if I really wanted to, I can writ ea whole religion and write maybe 12, 120 pg volumes to list all the tenants, myths and details.. But why the fucc would I do that with my spare time when i have over 7-8 journals of notebooks already written that contain all type of useful notes that helped me navigate through many years of my life?

I'm not here to start a cult or a religion or anything. This is just a loose idea.
Sometimes the most simple things have the most impact in life..

One of them being the 2 wolf concept..

My life is already set, fucc I need to create a religion for?

To me the 3 brothers is just an easy thing.. if i have a bad day, Shing shing --everything is constantly moving/progressing. That moment means nothing.. Shing Shing also means, that life happens in waves, that ts impossible to have all "good" days without any bad. These simple but profound ideas are enoguh for me. I already learned a plethora of lessons from living an arduous life and coming from poverty/adversity and making it out and becoming successful/living out my dreams.

Idk how i can MORE SIMPLIFY such basic concepts.. ? I mean how would you break such a simple concept down even further? Its not hard to grasp. Im pretty sure children can understand this sht..

Three Mystical Brothers,

Jing Mang Lou, Positive,
Tells us everything is constantly progressing even when u think its not, Reminds of everything is always moving forward and that life happens in waves, that it is impossible to have all good days without bad, etc. Jing Mang Lou is all about moving fast and going for the goals and not letting things hinder you thats why its SHING SHING, everything is shing shing.

Jing Lang Moon,
who tells us to slow down, take our time, reflect, Dont be so steadfast.. Dont make decisions right away.. Its not hard.

Jing Jang Jou,
the devious one, entices to go against our gut feeling/against our intuition, into the dark/depths/the alleyways of life, and in hopes of learning lessons from our mistakes--but taking risks is what jing jang jou is all about.

When you think about the 3 brothers. You have 3 diff ways to think about anything going on in life, instead of just go in confusion or haste, or just let your emotions override or bad advice from others. You can sit down and think about the 3 angles to look at things from, analyze each one and then move forward with better understanding and a choice of how to handle things.

tl;dr:

  • Goody: The good way, the one who helps them move forward and adapt to change, the one they praise and ask for help.
  • Calmy: The slow way, the one who helps them relax and not rush into things, the one they listen to when they want to enjoy life or avoid stress.
  • Baddy: The bad way, the one who makes them do things they may regret later, the one who teaches them things through mistakes or bad luck.

yeah kinda like that buit goes more in depth because it also has to do with Mindset.. When you are thinking the most craziest thought about a situation you are operating like Jing Jang Jou. When You are thinking the most positive aspect, you are thinking like Jing Mang Lou. When you are confused and just in a state of panic, you need to thnk of Jing Lang Moon and slow down.. not attack this idea/thought/situation head on.. maybe get some fresh air, or go do smoething to get your mind off things and come back to it later.

regardless yeah, its some simple sht. people overcomplicate it. but to us, it means alot because we've become so accustomed to diff emotions behind these words, especially positive ones.. we kinda empowered the words with positive emotions.

at the end of the day, i find myself utilizing this in my life.. and it helps quite a bit lol
