Almost got in another fight

On Saturday night in a busy bar area, I was waiting on my motorcycle waiting to make a left turn at a light and suddenly I felt a strong whack on the back of my head. Three hooligans faggots on e-bikes had just passed me and one of them must have stuck out their arm to smack me. I'm guessing they were going 10-15 mph. They might have been playing the "knockout game" for all I know.

I immediately get filled with rage and rev past them and yell fvck you. They pull over to a curb and I do a 180 and come right up to them and say "which one of you fvcking faggots just hit my head?" They looked taken aback, as if expecting me to do nothing, and one of the girls with them looked very concerned, I had so much tunnel vision I didn't even notice how many there were, but it was at least 5 or 6 people in total.

The hoodlums tried to say it was an accident, and feigned concern that I was going to get arrested or hit by traffic. Three of them surrounded me on the bike and I quickly realized I would've had to fight all three of them. Honestly, I was so mad if I knew which one had actually hit me I would've just socked him right there, but since I didn't know, I would've felt really dumb to just randomly punch one and risk starting a 3 on 1 fight. I ended up staring them down for a moment then decided to leave. Part of me still wishes I had just fought all three of them or pressed them more into telling me which one of them hit me. They weren't big, looked like skinny 20 year olds. I was wearing full protective gear, kevlar leather jacket, full face helmet, riding gloves/boots, they would've had a hard time hurting me.

On another note, even though I was wearing a great helmet with high safety ratings, my head and neck have had some very mild, transient pain the past couple of days, should I get myself checked out? I have not had any other symptoms.

In city traffic I always keep an eye on my six for movement. In some cases you could just as easily get rear-ended by a taxi.

I pretty much always obsessively check my mirrors, when I'm stopping or stopped, figures one of the few times I don't, this happens.

I know you were pissed off, but it rarely pays off to confront a group by yourself. As you realised and left the scene. I don't know if you're into fighting, but in martial arts the concept of fudoshin should help to keep you out of trouble.

That is true, and yeah I have avoided fights my whole life, only been in one. But something like this crosses the line.

In Massachusetts, New York, and Washington D.C., batons are illegal to carry but legal to own for home use. There are no federal laws against carrying expandable batons.

The same goes for actions. Right or wrong, can you handle the consequences of your actions the next day?

Be more situationally aware and non-reactive. As you stated, you found yourself surrounded by 5-6 people in total and still didn't know which one did it. You never know what someone is carrying or capable of these days. Look at all the violence being posted and glorified on FB and Tik Tok now. Backed into a corner, then fight to maim and win but don't overestimate how much damage your gear will protect you from.

True, but once you pull a weapon, you escalate the situation and the consequences can be dire.

And you might pull your baton against the wrong person and end up with a baton up your own ass. Or a new ventilation hole in your head.

Why not fixed blade knifes? Collapsible batons are a bit clunky and you need to keep them oiled.

Fighting on the other hand should be reserved for life or death situations, not perceived slights or superficial damage.

I do agree, but that could have easily been a concussion or much worse so I wouldn't consider that superficial, people can actually die from direct blows to the back of the head.

I wholeheartedly disagree, as a CCW the chances are if you fire a weapon you will lose your right to carry one.

Therefore as someone carrying a lethal weapon, YOU ARE TRAINED OR SHOULD BE TRAINED TO ONLY USE IT IF THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION AVAILABLE TO YOU.

If you are not trained both mentally and physically to carry a weapon that can destroy life you should not be carrying it.

sometimes today people are bringing a knife to a gunfight. In the U.S. at least.

This is what they do now to prove themselves, they escalate right to the point of conflict but then avoid the conflict at all costs, I've had many interactions with younger men, I had a guy road rage and approach my window so I got out and pushed him, he screamed at me like a woman "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!" when I did.

I had another guy put himself right in the crosswalk while I was walking by so I yanked and slapped his rear wiper as I walked by, I looked back and he was just closing his door after saying something I didn't hear, I smiled at him, he drives around, meets me at the gas station im walking to, parks, gets out, this guy is like 7 ft tall, asks if I want my teeth knocked out, I said sure, he proceeds to push me away which made me laugh then he throws sissy slow punches at me for about 20 seconds, I weave every single one then decide to let him hit me twice in the face which didn't hurt at all, I told him "Buddy, you should go home if you can't fight" and he just turned around and left, he didnt even knock my glasses off. I've seen him a bunch of times since then, he doesn't do or say anything.

Another guy honks at me as I'm crossing a parking lot, I walk to his window and he complains im not watching where I'm going, I respond I have the right of way, he says so, I say so I don't have to watch, you have to watch, then I slam my fist into his newer Audi twice and he tells "Oh I'd wish you'd do that again!" following me slowly while yelling at me, "Somebody is gonna kick your ass someday!" he's yelling back, I'm just calling him a poosy the whole time, he gestures like he's gonna come out of his car, I just laugh and called his bluff, then he honked his horn at me and left, I laughed as I entered the gas station for lottery.

This has all been since like July, I think the inflation just makes the money struggles go to their heads lol

I live within eyesight and earshot of a very active intersection. I have started hearing A LOT more short tempers, open very vocal arguments etc. lately. People's nerves as a whole are definitely fraying due to economic woes, inflation and related stress I think. You're going to see far more people with hair triggers in the coming months sadly.
