Hello everyone, I am new here (obviously). I came across the Rational Male book and saw that this forum was referenced many times by the author. Naturally, this piqued my curiosity. I started reading this book as a result of being utterly confused about the nature of women. So far, this book has actually made a lot of sense, and really has made me think about my past relations with women, and the relationships I have seen my friends get into. In this post I will try to create an image of what female relations are like for my age demographic. This is both to give the older gentlemen here an insight on what us "youngins" are up to, and perhaps give my fellow "zoomers" something to relate to. In regards to my looks, I am blessed to cosmetically resemble an older Daniel Ratcliffe (Harry Potter fan girls love this.) Others have said I look like Zack Efron's potrayal of Ted Bundy (I will take this as a compliment.) I am not tallest guy around (5'8) but I am certainly no dwarf, so I don't complain about that. My manlet friends seem to slay quality poon on the regular, so I wouldn't say all females discriminate.

College: My local campus is relatively small by University standards (less than 10k undergrad) . The majority of the student body appears to be female. At quick glance, this seems like shooting fish in a barrel but there is indeed skill needed to have success in game. My best success with women has been to say intelligent things during a lecture when the professor asks the class a question, talk to them after class, and get phone #/snapchat. However, even this has a high failure rate but it is still more effective than cold approaching. I never got more than two dates out of college girls though. One actually disappeared from campus entirely after the first date.o_O Sorority girls, are not quite the slutty stereo-types we see in movies (The majority, anyway), and most date guys that are not in a fraternity.

Dating Apps: I am mainly referring to tinder and bumble, here. These are pretty much diminishing returns. Attractive women, collectively do not swipe right on an account unless it is a guy of super-athlete/model quality. I believe the reason for this is that attractive women can simply select any guy in real-life settings that they want to bang with ease. Dating apps are useless to them, aside from inflating their ego by looking at the number of likes they receive.

General Real Life Settings: Dance clubs are pretty much dead in my area, and gen z women are a rare sight at the traditional bar scene (The youngest I have exchanged numbers with was 26.) The older millennial/ gen x women certainly take a liking to me though.

All in all, I'd say most things my dad said about picking up women may be obsolete now.

If you look like Daniel Ratcliffe then you shouldn’t have any issues pulling pvssy on a college campus. What is your dress style like? Hobbies?

This is true, and this is why is not wise to seek specific advice from people outside your generation.

However, the money looks status + a pinch of social skills quartet requirement does not change. Always aim to be above average.

Bro you should start a field report journal, Tracking your interactions and thoughts will help your progress faster as you will be able to analyze failures and success etc

As far as your post, I have couple of Zoomers I mentee and basically the nightlife scene is now bottle service and they meet girls either via social circle or Instagram DM's. I'm not a fan of dming random chicks on IG but I understand the thought process any way I can't add much but encouragement never give up and remember the focus should always be on you primarily never women they are just here to enhance your life

God bless

It seems like instagram game is more important than anyone thought in your age demographic. It is like a hybrid of social circle game, OLD, and cold approaching.

I typically dress "professionally." Most outfits are jeans, short sleeve button up, western boots. Sometimes I am lazy and just wear shorts, sneakers and a short sleeve shirt of some flavor (either button-up, tee, or polo." Winter dress is similar, but with hoodies on "lazy days" and work jackets with a tan corduroy collared chore coat.

As for hobbies, I am fairly active within certain student orgs. My at-home hobbies revolve around livestock (I raise cattle.) and some other various outdoor activities.

This is an interesting one. I have heard many repeat this, and seen elements of the concept first hand. From my observations, it looks like a DM attack is viable, on the condition that that your own profile is of high value. The baseball team starter with killer physique pics on his profile and several fun party pictures has a better shot than the skinny guy with a picture of him holding a fish and numerous family Christmas photos in is profile.

Profile quality matters substantially in e-game, even if you are a master at texting. I have seen girls hunt down guys at entirely different schools over seeing a guys "cute picture" on his twitter profile pic. I think he was wearing a baseball uniform in it. Being a baseball player on any college campus seems to be pretty much a cooch-getting guarantee.

I make that same joke a lot too. For context, I think it was a school withdrawal in her case. Her name was removed from the class roster, so she left "officially." I am not sure what that reason was, but she is not the first or last student to do it. My guess is probably money related.

This is why. Your dressing style doesn't match your appearance. Try wearing flanels with your jeans. Try to go for the urban cowboy look like in the Ranch.

Weather is a little warm for flannel at the moment, next week may get chilly enough to bring out the flannel.

The urban cowboy look has always felt strange to me. Whenever I wear my felt cowboy hat, I get told I look like a Yellowstone character. I did grinded on by an attractive married woman in one of the few active dance clubs in my area while wearing that hat though.

When you want to attract women, it doesn't matter what you feel, it only matters how women feel lol. It is either that or dress like a NYC hipster living off daddy's money lol.

Welcome! "The Rational Male" is a fantastic book. I'm glad you read it. I regularly mention the Iron Rules of Tomassi. The book became an instant classic when it was released in 2013 and it still holds up well in 2023.

This forum has a great college sex thread.....

While the focus of the college sex was originally the mating environment at large public universities in the USA, the thread has expanded to cover sex lives at colleges of all sizes.

I agree that approaching someone after a college class is easier than a random mall, grocery store, or outdoor (non-college campus) approach. In the post-college world, one of the closest examples to resembling a college class is a fitness class.

Dating Apps: I am mainly referring to tinder and bumble, here. These are pretty much diminishing returns. I agree with all of this.

Why do you think going to bars to meet the opposite sex is not a thing in Gen Z?

I am an older Millennial.

All in all, I'd say most things my dad said about picking up women may be obsolete now.
You're 23. Your dad is likely 50-55 and a Gen X'er. I would have thought Gen X'ers would have been better instructing their Gen Z sons than the Baby Boomer fathers were at instructing their Millennial sons (my generation).

Rollo Tomassi is a Gen X'er. Mystery, Neil Strauss, Roosh, etc. were all Gen X'ers.

Interesting looking college thread, I may dive in later. As for the bar issue, my local area just seems pretty empty in that regard. The rare gen z female groups that appear, are typically pretty cold when a lone man approaches. If you have a posse of guys with you, it gets a little easier but finding the gen z female group to interact with in the first is difficult part. Granted, the bar scene at bigger party school areas are a gold mine if utilized correctly. Most drinking and socializing occurs in the form of house parties at my little baby university. As for my dad's advice, a lot of it is still relevant today, though I feel the age of social media and digital communication has muddied the water a lot and adds another layer of complexity to this mess.

It's a great thread. It would take a while to dive through.

Your smaller, local area might not be indicative of a broader Gen Z trend in the United States or globally.

Most drinking and socializing occurs in the form of house parties at my little baby university.
That's normal at colleges/universities of all sizes until people turn 21.

As for my dad's advice, a lot of it is still relevant today, though I feel the age of social media and digital communication has muddied the water a lot and adds another layer of complexity to this mess.
A 50-55 year old Gen X'er was a young adult in the 1990s when the current era of mating started.

With my generation (Millennials), our Baby Boomer parents were often from an era that didn't have a lot of relevance once we came of age around 2000. I'm an older Millennial and the statement I made is likely more accurate for the 1980s born Millennials than the 1990-1996 born late Millennials.

Right now, there are 65-75 year old Baby Boomer guys out there that have had a decent lifetime of dating even as fairly average men. Had these 65-75 year old Boomer men of today been born in the 1980s, they likely would have been incels or borderline incels. That's how much tougher the mating environment has been for Millennials and now for your generational cohort in Gen Z.
