This is about to change everything and bring about possibilities that scientists could only dream about a few years ago...

Exciting and at the same time could potentially launch us into the next great era of human achievement or end up destroying us if we aren't careful.

The possibilities this unlocks are virtually endless.

I heard about it, but I'm dumb, I can fix notebook, iPhone, iPad on chip level, but this stuff I just don't get. Are we going to have hoover craft?

You can google LK-99. It sure sounds like a scam.

There has been little overall scientific progress since the 1960's. Pretty much everything we have today existed 50-60 years ago. Yes, some things are better and more efficient (i.e. computers, electronics, software) but not really "new" has been invented in the past half-a-century.

I mean yes and no...computers in the 1960s took up a huge room and were about 1000x slower than an average cell phone today in terms of computation power. If you don't think that's progress and advancement I am not sure what to tell you.

Fiber optics were invented in 1952 but it wasn't until well into the 1990s and even 2000s that they took full advantage of it to transmit data for calls and Internet service for consumers and it continues to be improved in terms of speed and coverage area.

Making things much faster, smaller, better and more efficient IS advancement of technology and is actual taking something that was "invented" but has no real use case and turning it into something that you almost cannot live without.

I mean look at how the Internet has advanced. Went from being a military invention that went to the public but was so slow that it was pretty much unusable for anything other than sending emails or reading text to now when you literally stream movies, music and anything else over it and don't need cable, CDs, or DVDs and run your phones off of it which are almost an extension of your person in a way they never could have even imagined back in the 1950s since they had no concept of any of this.

It's taken many many many years of continual advancements and inventions of new technologies to utilize these inventions to make proper use of them.

It doesn't do much if you invent something but have no way to use it because the technology and/or infrastructure to integrate it into people's lives doesn't exist. And then many decades after that to be able to continually improve and advance the technology and infrastructure to get it to where it is today. I mean look at all the things that had to happen for the Internet to go from dial up to fiber/cable/5G and WIFI that exists today. That wasn't even a thought back in the 1980s because they had no way to even do what we are doing today and nothing created to take advantage of it even if it waa available.

Extraterrestrial disclosure will be the big game-changer imo. At that point they'd have to reveal more stuff.

Isn't that what I said? Existing inventions being improved vs. completely new inventions.

My point is that inventing something that is totally new and has never existed before (think airplane, submarine, rocket ship, computer, electrical network) is exponentially more difficult than taking an existing invention and gradually refining it over a period of many years or even decades. Perhaps I should have said "scientific breakthroughs" instead of "scientific progress" but the point still stands. Today's scientists do not hold a candle to the likes of Newton, Tesla, Einstein, Edison and Galilei. I've always wondered why that was the case. Either scientists have become dumber or today's society does not create conditions for genius-level inventors to succeed. Perhaps it's a combination of both factors.

If you believe the inventors themselves...Wernher Von Braun and the German Scientists during WWII, Nikolai Tesla, etc it's because they received "help" meant to push humans to the "next age" of their development with technology that will change how they live and what their capabilities are...they then are given time to understand, improve and advance that technology before they are given more advancements.

This is coming from the people who did the advancements, not me. Tesla and Von Braun and others openly have stated they received assistance from outside this earth in creating these and basically acted as a reservoir for the information to flow through.

Not sure if I'd go that far. However, I do believe that the modern education system is intentionally designed to dumb young people down. You don't need to "disappear" anyone if you can turn him into a dumbass who believes that he has a female pen!s and that his mission in life is to figure out which pronouns to use.

Agree on todays society point. It probably has to do with the nature of scientific knowledge too. Knowledge is like an inverted pyramid. As the decades go by, each researcher has to dominate more and more knowledge in order to understand what is out there and what is not. This alone makes everything slower.

At this point the ingenuity required is beyond the youngest generation.

The world isn't black and white, not all of a group is good nor bad. But speaking on the subject of atrocities, are you aware of the ones the Japanese committed in WW2 at least? Shooting red cross nurses in the back, death marches, etc.

Hi Billie,
In 2007 I was in Nanjing for the Seventieth anniversary of the Rape Of Nanjing by the Imperial Japanese Army...300.000+died during this horrifying business...I heard the air raid sirens calling at the designated time and saw the opening of perhaps the most gruesome War memorial you could ever imagine,it is built over a killing field, the soil has been scraped away to reveal skeletons of the poor unfortunates and glass floors built over the top, there they are, piled one on top of the other, you can actually see broken bayonets in some of these bodies, small children too....I never got in the first Day but saw the privileged guests being led out,all were survivors, all were weeping...we must never let these sort of things happen again!

The US today will never reap the same benefits as before. With proper use of AI and benefiting from climate change, China and Russia can climb up to the top.
