A few random thoughts:

-Dating apps suck just as bad for women, but for different reasons.

-Match Group owns Tinder, Match, POF, Hinge, and several other sites. Bumble is the only mainstream outlier. These sites are set up to make a profit, and its gotten more and more that way over the years. They are not set up to be productive for the typical user. Seems as these apps start to age, they aren't effective anymore and I think thats by design to increase profits.

-Guys start No Fap support threads, maybe they should start a no OLD support thread and encourage others not to use it.

-OLD isn't as productive for me as it was 5+ years ago. I used to do pretty good on there. I've only been back on there for a few weeks so time will tell. What I have noticed is that its far easier for me to get numbers in bars than ever before.
Match llc ruined old. Okc, pof, tinder were user friendly and less costly to use and got results. Match buys them and they all go to sh*ts. So many paywalls it drives normal people away except the fat, desperate women who need old.

Pof only allows ONE free message per day noe

Upward was a decent dating app with hotties. Match bought them late last year and its almost unusable now unless you pay.

Makes a number of very good points.
He also makes some very bad points. This is one of them:
No, but you never know until you swing. Even if it fails 99% of the time, you just need that 1% to feel like you’ve accomplished something. Young men crave adventure and difficult tasks to complete….or at least, they used to.
His strategy for meeting women is hitting on chick at bars, experiencing a 99% failure rate and then settling for the one Karen that says yes. This is hardly a recipe for a happy life. Sounds more like is a recipe for oneitis, desperation and lowering your standards.
Instead of having to walk up to a good looking woman and offer to buy her a drink, young men now have the freedom to sexually proposition complete strangers without any risks.

Even if a woman says yes and they meet up for a quick one-night stand, is that a positive? That’s nothing more than a sexual transaction that treats both people as a cog in a machine that will quickly be discarded and replaced.
I'd say it's more of a positive than going to a bar, buying drinks for a bunch of chicks and then going home alone to whack off to porn (which I guarantee is what the author of the article did back in his college days).

Have dating sites gotten worse over the years and if they have then it what ways?
Pay walls, pay to get swipes, features taken away, and also a ton less quality women unlike 3 years ago. It's been explained countless times in many threads.

Arrange your first dates from bars then. Are you going to bars later in the night (8 PM or later) or doing weeknight Happy Hours?
Friday/Saturday nites.

Why have quality women gone away?
Covid is over and everyone going out more, not paranoid, paywall, pain to use for everyone. The ugly women are still on there because they have no choice.

Match LLC money hungry now. I wonder if it's from the Justice dept. finally going after them. Their stock went down when that happened.

I logged into OLD today; only for an hour and received 3 likes (from most likely bots) and no matches.

The OLD quality of woman consists of an average woman who deems themselves above their looks...but honestly...you shouldn't care..anyone really...Why? Most women are on OLD to f***. If she doesn't f*** you. Next. In the bright side, she's probably f***ing multiple men and you didn't f***....but that's good. You missed your chance on s*x with a low-quality woman. You honestly didn't miss out on much.

Just keep improving. For myself, I started using social media to connect to more people. I've been able to get twice as much dates as of lately..though I have not been closing.

My solution to the lack of closes is to be consistent in my judgment and action. If I deem a woman-only sex-worthy, I won't be passive and if I deem a woman high quality, I will make a further effort in being a gentleman. What do you men say about my approach?

There was a time 9 years ago when I was actively using tinder and getting laid off of it like tile with relatively attractive chicks. Like 2-3 a week. Yes it used to happen.

What I learned quickly though was that the time invested was very high. I was reading profiles and looking at pics and 9/10 times the ROI was not there. It was a lot of work.

I came up with a workaround there was an app i found that was a few bucks that would take your credentials and log in every so often and right swipe EVERYTHING, in the background. I then would sort on the front end, lots of trash, lots of it. It worked for time management and unused it for about a year till it stopped working.

Keep in mind this was before shadow bans, and before the algorithms were tightened down hard. It was a good time.

Anyway and anecdote for you from the early days…

10years ago, I used to spend 1.5hrs per day on the road commuting/sitting in traffic for work. I'd right swipe without even looking at the app.

Pook wrote it in his book "if you're getting a lot of rejection, either lower your standards or increase your value" Looks, Money & Game
Most men on the swipe apps are lowering standards to rock bottom. There are even men on apps with rock bottom standards not getting matches. Even without dropping standards to rock bottom, there comes a point either online or offline where the only feasible matches are so bad it might not even be worth it.

Women are sending more and more men to the rejection pile these days. There are stories of 6'4" men who are fit with reasonably big muscles being sent to the rejection pile.

Ehh, it’s like a passive income stream. Low effort, low return. Sift through the trash and sometimes you find some value.

To each their own.

What I don’t understand why so many people are spending their time arguing about online dating do whatever the frak works for you.

Guys, the girl of your dreams is just a subscription to Tinder Gold away, look she just liked you 10 seconds ago, but we can't show you her until you subscribe.

Do these people not understand basic economics? If they find you a match, they can't continue to bombard you with Ads and Subscription Strategies, so yes these entities have a vested interest in keeping you single and using the app by any means necessary.

The golden age of dating apps is over, it's ****ing been over for a minute now, we can sit here and reminiscence on a time that once was, I remember sending **** pics on PoF, hundreds of times never banned once, now they'll ban your ass for having your shirt off, this observation is the encapsulation of what online dating has become.

If men followed one simple guideline, the OLD controversy would be irrelevant: If you are attractive (particularly facially): use OLD. Otherwise: Try something else.

True to a point,
I can’t vouch for it currently. But when I was on Tinder. Just before Covid. It was amazing. 10/10 experience. ‘t:ts on tap’.
What would you rate your looks and height?

Dating apps have their purpose

guys who talk the most sh1t about them are the guys who do not get any action

I think that dating apps are a good summary of what dating in general Is

the only relevant critique that someone should have about these apps is that the quality you can get there is way lower than what you could get in real life

the biggest downside of dating apps is that you do not have there women from the very top echelon, as they have more attention than They can handle already

in case guys did not realized so far, the vast majority of women are using it for validation + they Try to get a guy above their smv ( sometimes by many points higher than hers ) . Anything else they are not interested in

women are quite pragmatic, especially since it is very simple to use it like that

Why? Because People should focus on improving themself without any need to rely on a Platform with bunch of low value woman. If you focus on the things you lack, but improve you can have the success you are seeking in REALLIFE rather then Dating Apps. I always found that People who use Dating Apps are People with a weak mindset, Im also pretty sure that there is some truth behind it
If you’re here to impart your wisdom upon other men and have a way to back up your claims, then that’s great.

But if you’re here just because you need a platform to endlessly express your same rigid opinion over and over again then it’s a waste of time.

You can also express your point without insulting those who do not agree with you over and over and over again. Some light ribbing or sarcasm is always fun, but having 6 threads going in which you’re arguing ad-nauseum outright insulting others is not aligned with you wanting to share, it’s aligned with a deep seated need to be correct.
