Have any of you had unexplainable bad gut feelings about people you meet?

I was reflecting upon some intuitive feelings and experiences I've had in my life and this is something that I've wondered if others have these as well.

I've had a handful of these experiences where I just cannot explain these feelings, but it's like a sick to your stomach feeling that is a warning about someone or something, even when there is no real reason for them to exist.

Some examples

2017 I was stretching at the gym in the aerobics room and noticed there was this guy doing some exercises and I asked him about what he was training for. We had a conversation for around 10 minutes or so and we were just talking about different stretches, exercises, etc. I later go about my day and ended up seeing that same guy a few days later at the gym in the warmup area. I was going to go talk to him but I had this horrible sick feeling that I shouldn't go and talk to him but I ignored it. I forget exactly what I said but then he says "I don't appreciate you talking to me, I don't know you" and then I told him I talked to him the other day and he just has this bizarre vacant stare. I got really angry and wanted to smash the creep's face into the wall but I decided to walk away. Literally the next day I see this same guy and he is in the warmup area sitting on one of the benches literally staring at himself in the mirror from less than 3 feet away. I don't know how to describe it through writing but it was a comical to see but also a bit unsettling and very strange. I briefly look right at him as I'm walking by and just laugh at him. A couple days later I see this same guy leaving the basketball court and as I'm walking by I quickly turn my head to make direct eye contact and he literally jumps and recoils away, then walks away super fast from me lol. I just laughed at him, either he's a tard or has some serious mental issues. Side note, I'll still see this creep at different gyms in my area on a rare occasion and he still remembers me to this day and will actively run away/avoid me lol.

A while ago there was this girl I met at the gym that I ended up exchanging numbers with. We made plans to meetup for a date later that evening after we were done with the gym. I was actually really excited about pulling a number from the gym and actually getting a date, I told a couple friends of mine at the time, etc. Anyway, a couple hours later I get some text about how something came up and she said something about not be able to make it out, I forget the exact words, and I just told her when I was free and asked if she'd be available then. I right then and there had this really sick to my stomach feeling about what was going on. One of my friends was there and he just said not to worry about it, etc. Anyway, I ended up getting ghosted from this woman and we never went out on a date.

I have many other examples but they are kind of difficult to explain and I don't want to make an entire essay on this.

All the time. I can spot bad actors in minutes, comes from years of hiring and life lessons.

Develop a gut, then trust it.

Every time I’ve not trusted my intuition I’ve lived to regret it.
Do you have any examples you could share?

I like how you had the ambition to approach her and get her number. It was a solid move to set a same night date with her.

She flaked quickly. If you got her number at the gym around 12 PM and set a date for that night at 7:30 PM, she must have flaked out on the date idea by around 4 PM.

Did you ever see her at the gym again? I recently ran into a woman at a grocery store who rejected me at a gym years earlier but she remembered me.

It is a shame that she flaked on you. There's likely little more you could have done to prevent the flake. You demonstrated higher value at the gym being 6'4" with bigger muscles.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Yes, I remember being a kid and I was walking home from school. I lived close to the school and this was 3rd grade. I just left the school grounds when this guy standing next to a car, parked by the sidewalk, called over to me and said my mother was in the hospital and he was waiting for me to take me there. I honestly didn't know what to make of it and kind of stood there listening. I can't tell you why I didn't go because it seemed convincing, but I got this really weird feeling in my stomach. It's difficult to explain. I just walked away from the guy, looking back a couple of times as I did. I did not tell my parents until much later which I regret when I think about it from time to time because this guy was obviously preying on children. This is the strongest personal experience I have of "trusting your gut".

What life lessons would you want to share? You could share first the impression they want you to see, then the reality of who they really are, and how you found it out. It will spark interesting discussion.

I did see that woman again at the gym, she ended up just being a massive attention ***** that lead me on for no reason. I actually made a thread about this specific woman a while ago. I later found out that she behaved this way with a ridiculous number of other men and would bounce from one failed relationship to the next. I've had a lot of bad experiences in the dating market, this one was definitely in my top 3.

Have you ever had other experiences where you had the same feelings? I think feelings like this are not that common for us to experience, which is why we remember them quite well.

Yes. I remember being in the kitchen making myself a sandwich and I over heard my mom on the phone talking to a life long friend of hers, asking to borrow money. I starting feeling very bad, but I couldnt explain myself why. Turns out it wasnt her lifelong friend, it was someone pretending to be her and my mom was scammed out of some valuable amount of money.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

I can identify with this. I've had some bad approaches at the gym too.

I linked to comments about one bad gym approach earlier in the thread.

I also got IHAB'ed in another approach here....

The IHAB incident wasn't too bad but no one ever really knows if they are lying about the boyfriend. Most people are in some sort of relationship at a given moment so a lot of daygame, cold approachers end up wasting time approaching women in relationships. This sort of thing wouldn't happen if the app environment or the bar environment wasn't a complete shiit show. I have expressed an idea that women who go to bars are more likely to be single and open to new penis, but other people's experience indicate that my idea wasn't as sound initially as I thought.

That sounds pretty funny man. I think he's probably got mental issues/PTSD. I'm into psychology so I know theres a ton of different type of mental and personality disorders people have. He could be for instance dealing with Multiple personality disorder, depersonalization, schizophrenia, schizotypal, etc

and yeah I definitely get a weird feeling around people I meet. But I think rather than a feeling its just the cues they give off.. adn the things they say/do.

Girls often give numbers so the guy goes away at the tIme. Then when out of sight, they can reject him with a simple text without feeling bad.

Dont be telling friends anything until the girl is 8.5 months pregnant. They will use your losses against you.

No I'm afraid not. Something like this only happened once. A lot of the other times was I think more a product of experience (as in I knew I was being bull****ted by people and could sniff it out). The situation as a kid was totally different. It was pure instinct, a terrible feeling overcame me and I just followed it. I still can remember the guy saying where are you going we have go to the hospital right now. Pisses me off.

I've only had this happen twice where I almost sensed an evil presence and kept having the urge to just leave the area.

The first time, I swear a few weeks later this same dude was on the news for stalking and killing his girlfriend that had dumped him a few months earlier... can't be a hundred percent sure but it looked like his twin if it wasn't.

Not sure why with the other time but I didn't wait to find out.

Lol. Come on bro, unique case?

I work from home, two months ago, the hottest Yoga Teacher, who knew where I lived, called me on my phone "Bad Boy, I'm downstairs, I want to come up." I let her in, she looked for 5 min, chit-chatted about nothing, and then left. I was shocked. Then after a few minutes, I realized that she didn't come up to make love to me and I didn't make a move, she came up to if I had a girlfriend; to see how a guy like me, who has a place like me, a car like me, business like me, is single. She saw I was single and she left. That's it.

It's the same thing with your gym girl. I doubt she was in love with you and wanted to date. She was just wondering if and how a 6'4 bodybuilder is single. You exchanged numbers; made plans -> Bingo. She knows you not making love to anybody. Her work is done.

It's all the same thing with these girls.
