Any advice on resetting Tinder and Bumble from software pros on here?

I have had new pics done but as we all know, for active Tinder and Bumble accounts, that does not mean jack. Your ELO is what it is and you really need to restart the apps in order to get that newbie boost. Unfortunately, Tinder has become draconian and requires a phone number along with Bumble for verification. Outside of buying a new cellphone, any advice on how to properly reset the two major apps?

I've never tried what I am about to suggest. Burner phone number for apps?

I think there's a good chance my ELO score is trashed at this point.

On Hinge yet? Haven’t been in OLD lately, but I’ve gotten more responses with it than any of the others.

Every time I take a 3+ month break from any of them I notice a boost when I return. Low match rate, it works occasionally though.

I’m tempted to pay for a premium account because it doesn’t make sense to me to get pics done just to post them to a free account.

Might be easier just to drop a couple $$$ on a subscription. I haven’t done it yet but probably will.

If you dont' wait at least 30 days then use a different number or else you're shadow banned. Also, when you sign up for Tinder and it lets you verify your account wait at least a couple days before you decide to delete it. For some reason the first 24 to 48 hours it seems your profile doesn't show to very many people and then you start getting likes. I guess that is cut down on bots.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

Burn the old phone in a vat of acid, Jesse. It's the only way.

Most cell providers allow you to change numbers for a small fee. You could try that - or get a voip phone number and use it.

You can literally get burner phone and sim card for £10 total, all men should have one, get one now.

I used mine to sign up to twitter/insta/fb/OLD - for any clandestine calls I need to make including when I used escorts (not any more). Save important numbers in it and you can just have it somewhere safe for years. Those old phones can't be tracked and the sim card is not linked to anyone.

Isn't the whole point behind ELO scores that you get exactly what you "are worth "? So you basically can't fake it?

If we go by the principles of ELO scoring, any improvement in your SMV would also improve your score . In an extreme case, if you became famous overnight, the ELO will correct itself immediately. So better pictures= better ELO score.

If you do start a new account, you'll probably get the same ELO as when you had your original account WITH better pictures.

I had to laugh when i read this hahaha. I felt that. If your statistics and numbers are somewhat true (100+ swipes for 1 match) ,then most men will have a terrible score. I deleted all my OLD for now, as I also felt like it brought nothing of substance.

Perhaps that's what evens things out a little bit, on the other hand it would confirm why and how a small percentage gets most matches. As said before, such a company won't mind when 90% of men need to stay on the app and thus stay costumers...facts like these should be a sign to take such scores and results with a grain of salt.

I wonder if this ELO thing is really true though. Because if it does gives some wiggle room for OLD to become fairer, even by force of law if neccessary . Because it makes a big difference if you are visible to all women vs being visible to only a handful, and to make matters worse; only to women with a similar ELO score (which means by default a SEVERELY lower SMV than you have).

I do wonder if actually paying for a subscription will improve your chances somehow.

It does. Because you can swipe on unlimited people which means better odds. However everyone I see says how with Tinder, Bumble when you're new you get a lot of likes then it seems to just basically stop. I'm thinking this is to sucker you into paying. Tinder and Bumble seems the first few days you get lots of likes. You pay for the premium to see the likes so you don't have to swipe as much, then magically it stops.

With Covid over now they're becoming money hungry.

I read guy spending $200, $300 a month on Boosts, premiums, etc and getting no second dates.

Just think of that extra few hundred you be using it towards productive means like buying stock or putting it into a retirement account.

Thought JP only does cold approaches?
I was thinking about OLD vs cold approach, and there's no better place to talk about this than in a Jesse P . Thread .

Despite all the negativism surrounding OLD, there's one thing I hardly ever read about and that's the fact that ;

When you cold approach its YOU who decided he liked woman x, and went up to talk to her . Unless she gave you clear ioi, it's a complete gamble whether you are her type or not.

Vs OLD. The fact she swiped on you , matched , and talks to you means you are 100%her type. So from that POV OLD actually COULD be a way better way to find a suitable woman.

When you cold approach there are ofcourse more factors which can make you attractive, the most important being how you carry yourself and your mouthpiece.

Unfortunately capitalism and monopolization ruined OLD forever it seems. BUT , as always; it does create opportunities for inventive entrepreneurs...but that's another story.

Yeah "love" is priceless to people...and everyone wants a quick fix.

You guys in the states , or I should say a guy like you've described, should take that Match LLC whatever company to court.

I imagine a perfect world , where that company gets taken to court like Facebook. Forced by law to remove anything that manipulates the algorithm and pay back clients if they were scammed. Or perhaps sue them for cartel practices by buying out competitors.

Imo its unclear if the big change in OLD is really just due hypergamy, or mainly because Match has tons of tricks to keep us paying. We all know how OLD was when it was just released and literally every man could get plenty of matches.

I also think of a scenario where Match is actually innocent , and even without their subscription model everything stays the same (aka modern dating is really fecked and women really only go for 5 % of men).

Never in my 15yrs of hunting girls have I seen OLD so bad. I used to do pretty good on there. In the past 3 weeks or so, I've gotten 3 phone numbers from OLD that went nowhere. Two were HB8's, one was an HB9. Maybe it's because I don't spend money on the apps?

The three numbers I got from real life resulted in sex with a 28yo HB7 on the first date and make out/dancing on the spot with the other 40ish HB8. The other HB8 Asian 30ish ghosted me as I expected. Vibe wasn't there with her.

It's a lot more fun flirting with girls in real life as well as a better return as of lately.

I talked about this in another thread, but on a philosophical level it seems almost no man gets around finding the Don juan within himself, find a pair of cojones and challenge himself in the real world.

A creul twist of faith how OLD became a cashcow for one company rather than a ideal way to match SMV's. If only...And ofcourse, finding women while sitting safe at home in your boxers doing zero real effort.. NOPE men. You still MUST go out and take risk! Or be extremely patient.

Ironically enough a man must reach a certain point where he steps beyond his own fears and goes out to find women . We all know this deep down inside. Once you do manage to "crack this code" within yourself and go without fear, you might even be thankful OLD forced you to practice the skill of real life pick up .

Looks like Match is getting sued yet again.

Class Action Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of Match Group, Inc. (globenewswire.com)

This other suit is really legit. They make it almost impossible to cancel. I once canceled, got a new card and somehow they charged me again. Let's say Match LLC becomes the next AOL, who takes over as the main dating sites if no one buys them up?

FTC Sues Owner of Online Dating Service Match.com for Using Fake Love Interest Ads To Trick Consumers into Paying for a Match.com Subscription | Federal Trade Commission

Due to Match’s allegedly deceptive advertising, billing, and cancellation practices, consumers often disputed charges through their financial institutions. The complaint alleges that Match then banned these users from accessing the services they paid for.

That's true in theory and swipe apps marketing but not in reality. Until face to face meeting happens, it's fantasy and fiction. For example: the photos might be done professionally which means the guy looks quite differently in reality. And he might have a totally different vibe than the one she imagined by looking at the photos.
