Today, for the first time, I hooked up with a girl that has (had?) a boyfriend (3 years) at a party where he was as well. Previously when an occupied girl showed interest I'd not continue, but this time I decided how far I could push it to test the theory of hypergamy (yes I know n=1). I started flirting and I was surprised with how good the response was, like seconds after I touched her she would grab my hand. After only an hour we were making out in the bedroom and he caught wind of something happening, tried to open the door even. We pretended nothing happened so things cooled down a bit, but overall still have quite some adrenaline from the whole deal. Interesting experience but probably not worth the trouble, and I guess I showed the guy her hypergamous nature.

Its a double edged sword. On one hand ,from a moral pov you "absolutely shouldn't so this". As described above this post, men will kill for love. On the other hand we ,indeed have this hypergamous dating environment.

The latter seems like a "natural thing". In nature all kinds of animal will murder you if even think about their spouse(s). But then we also could say hypergamy is a "thing of nature " and that monogamy is a hardwired made up fantasy.

Personally this is one of the reasons I hate being on the BF side of the fence. I've been on the non bf (cheating with me) side too often. I've seen women telling gruesome lies to their bf's. Hahaha man give it a rest with the "hypergamous nature" stuff. We guys today read too much on the internet. Some people are simply unfaithful, and at other times people trade one partner for a more attractive one. It's nothing specific to men or women, the most we can say is that (if the statistics can be trusted) women are on average more likely to end a relationship than men are, but that still doesnt tell us everything.
