Hair transplant remains the best option for those who can afford in terms of biology and money.
Few things scream more of insecurity than a hair transplant...c'mon man. If the guy is 18-20, ok, but a 30+ guy looking into hair implants?

I hate discussing this topic - I'm really self conscious, but these days my confidence is at such a horrible low point that I don't know who to talk to. I have nobody in my life I can discuss this with so I figured I would turn to the one place I felt comfortable spilling my guts out lol.

I'm early 30s - I been rockin a bald look since I was like 27. It weighed a lot on me then, but I worked out, gained some muscle, tinkered with my facial hair all the time, I still had vigor and the feel of youthfulness in me I guess, and even though it subtley bothered me it wouldn't overwhelm me. Now, being in the place I am, and single, and older and dealing with ****ty issues in my life, my bald look has been bothering me like no tomorrow. I hate looking in the mirror. I can't go out and socialize. My confidence is just shot, and I just don't know what to do. I been considering saving up and going for laser hair removal (so I could at least get rid of the damn shadow around the head, which looks terrible just a day later after shaving my head), or goin to the doc and asking for finestaride and minoxidol and just give that a try.
Has anyone else here dealt with this? Or similar situation... or overcame the problem... please let me know something and tell me what you think of the options I laid out. Greatly appreciate it.
So it sounds like the problem you need to work on is not your hair, its where you are at in life? Meaning career? Financially?

When I shaved my head in my early 30's I quickly learned there were 3 groups of women...one group hated bald guys, the second group was indifferent, and the third group loved bald guys. I also learned that a bald guy that shows up on a first date with no hat will be complimented for his confidence in owning his bald head and not hiding something!

Being insecure about your perceived deficiencies doesn't ever help your cause. But being confident about them will help you score in life.

They built themselves very masculine which is sort of my point which I thought could be read under the lines without mentioning it.
The strong masculine energy they are radiating to the world is itself very attractive to females.

Yes, the examples I used are rich now which of course levels their game with girls. But the first part is something average Joe can do too.
How can the average joe build himself a strong jaw, deep eyes and broad shoulders?

Anyway take away the millions and the fame and statham wont probably get matches on tinder nowadays...the rock could because of his height however.

Totally disagree, I dont see how acquiring useful assets can be a sign of insecurity.

So that's the yardstick for how masculine, good looking and successful a guy is? ... getting matches on Tinder?

A bald head signals subconsciously to women masculinity and maturity, the very things they're hardwired to be attracted to. A bad hair implant (look at Rooney whose photo you posted earlier...with all his money and still couldn't get the hairline and density of Ronaldo) signals he's unsure of himself, he's fallen for the BS advertising of hair clinics, that he's looking for approval of that percentage of females who for whatever reason don't like bald guys.
I know a 40yrs old guy who's had hair implant and he's insecure AF, so the above is not just theory.

She meant men she had to interact with in day to day life like at work. Not her bfs. She only dated say 6’2” + full hair guys.*

*She later married a solid Big 3 guy.
Yes, the Big 3 of Height, Hair, and Money.

At 5'10", I've had difficulty attracting women 5'10"+.

If a man wants a 5'10"-5'11" girlfriend, 6'0" is the recommended minimum height.

If a man wants a 6'0"-6'1" girlfriend, 6'2" is the recommended minimum height.

Here was a social experiment with a 6'3" woman in heels arranging dates on Tinder in 2 separate cities (Toronto and Los Angeles). Not sure how this all went down. Maybe it was staged.

At 5’10”, I had trouble with a 5’9” chick. Not enough “height delta” plus the hair issue.

Advice from the old lady:

It’s about owning who you are. My first husband went from having hair to balding while we were married, did not affect my desire for him at all.

Jason Staham is sexy AF. My fiancé knows I think he’s sexy & he teases me about it every time we watch one of his movies. That’s ok. I tease him about Kayla Morton on No Prep Kings, who he has a mad crush on.

Bald is fine if you just go with it. It is the insecurity that is the turn off, not the balding.

No it's for how attractive he is, which is why chads get laid and bottom 80% dont.

It doesnt define you as a man but define how visually attractive you are.

Thank god for prince williams, if he still had such hairline no woman would take him seriously.

I find it very unlikely that any woman regardless the age, would like the masculine/mature version more.

You sure you dont mean "old"?

5'9" is realistic for a 5'10" guy. It will be challenging so I'm not surprised you had problems. With only one inch of height advantage, you'll have to have other things going for you to compensate for a small "height delta".

5'7"-5'8" is more realistic.

5'6" and below is usually good.

I often dated girls as tall as me (as long as I kept walking straight) and consciously I had control all the time but subconsciously I had a voice inside me telling me that something needed attention, kinda like when you overspeed driving.

The William on the left is a boy, only teens and cougars would be attracted to him. The William on the right is a man with a bad haircut, (should just shave it off) Even with a full set of hair, some women will go for Chris Hemsworth, others for Henry Cavill, so you can't win 'em all no matter what you do.

Hair implants reek of approval seeking behavior from females and that is not masculine at all, particularly in a day and age when several macho/best looking guys are bald.

Imagine being male and being insecure about hair. I cant imagine.

I have terrible hair, it used to be curly and I couldnt do anything with it, now it is super balding. On top of that I am 5 8 and quite slim with no money. But I have a good face, proportions and love my perfect (black) beard.

I have a huge bald spot that even the barbers commented. Women really dont seem to care.

You have to understand women dont care about height, money or hair. They will use those things to make you feel insecure as a way to dominate and place themselves above you.

Women only care about masculinity and Game. Even general good looks is less than overall masculine presence and personality.

Balding is a signifier of masculinity. It is like being silverback in gorrilas. It is a signal that is pre-programmed to let women and others know you are a man. It is not an ilness or disease, it is deliberate coded signalling to let people know who you are lols.

If you dont like balding, you dont like being a man, maybe a sex change would be better suited.

It's not seeking approval. I was kinda bald from 20 years old . Now, at 36, i was much used to it. it was part of my nature. everybody knew me like this and it kinda looked decent on me, as you can see in my profile picture. I did a hair implant 3 weeks ago. My reason was this : everyone here says hair makes you look kinda younger. So why the fck not? I had the time, had the money. I will probably have the same short haircut like before. So it's not always about the ladies, approval seeking, alpha male, beta male, all this crap. I am just doing things that are good for me.

Totally disagree. Not everyone has a bad result,iv had a very successful HT. They are indetectable,if done correctly,ie,not at a cheap hair mill. I have a full head of hair and Im told on the regular I look 10 years younger than I am. I did it for myself as I liked having hair to style and grow..or cut short! But so what ? There is nothing wrong with rocking the bald look,it suits some men,not so much others..generally depends on the shape of your head. The SS forum is all about self improvement,a HT is only a small part of that very concept, its not "seeking approval" or whatever, because no one knows iv had one-the mark of a skilled surgeon

As for the OP-no amount of meds will make a difference if he has hardly any hair left,as they are not magic bullets, finisteride will only keep what you have...minoxidil can give you a "dusting" of hair, but again, you need a bit to start with. They are best taken on the first sight of hair loss, after that the only thing that will return your hair is a wig or a HT. BTW,talking from experience.

Side delts hypertrophy has no particular meaning in terms of strenght or balance yet many men chase it (myself included) cause it takes aestethics to a new step, your body appears much better overall.

Do you believe it's a matter of insecurity?

If it worked for you, good, but Rooney didn't go to a cheap hair mill, so the genetics reign supreme.

No, and it's the same with shaving/trimming body hair (which makes sense for hygiene reasons and showcasing your muscles).

Yes, the Big 3 of Height, Hair, and Money.
I would say it’s the Big 2; Height and Hair. The guy would have to be pretty rich for a woman to care about the money more than his height or hair. Woman love things men have that they can’t change when older.

Think I’ve said this before but in the East; hair is of utmost important to a girl. It’s the number 1 thing for a man. In the West, hair is pretty important, but you can get away with but you have to have the height.

School does tell men how to get tall or keep the hair, yet they tell men how to men how get the answer to the math test. Such good life lessons!

-What type did you do( there are two types of transplants)
Did it hurt / negative side effects
-- Where( Turkey, S Korea, Hungary ect)
- are you really satisfied
- do you need medication ,if so, did it effect you erectile function.
- price range( maybe too personal
-do you need to go back or are you done for years
- FUE (follicular unit extraction). Stay away from the strip cut because you won't be able to shave/trim your head without showing a massive scar on the back of your head. That's the advantage of FUE; you can trim your head in case you're not satisfied. If you add a SMP (scalp micro pigmentation), it'll look perfect if you like it very short.
- I did it in Istanbul. Beautiful and safe city.
- I'm satisfied, knowing the limitations. Unless you have a good donor area, you'll never get to good density. If you're not Norwood 5 and still have something, you can do a hair transplant and recover some density. And take finasteride to hold on to what you have.
- All clinics will recommend you to take finasteride. I had side effects (E.D) way before the hair transplant so I stayed away when they told me to take. If you're +35, it's likely that your hair loss stabilized. Maybe my result would be better if I had used finasteride but I'm not taking it.
- €2k for the procedure. Not counting ticket/hotel. Two friends recommended it and they had an impressive result. They had way more hair compared to me to begin with though.
- I did two procedures so my donor area is depleted. The transplanted grafts are supposed to stay forever.
