Apparently it used to be a better deal. Like everything else, it's gone downhill.

I've never tried it. Seeking Arrangement is likely past its prime. It has gone downhill due to the 5 Phase Model of online dating technology.

The 2 Caleb Jones articles from 2013 and 2015 linked in this response have value, though some parts of them are dated. Pay attention to general 5 Phase Model, which still holds up in 2023.

"Here are the five phases any dating technology always goes through:

1. Early adopters
2. Hyper-effectiveness
3. Normal effectiveness
4. Problems
5. Effective only for a small, specific group of people."

Seeking Arrangement is likely either in the latter part of Stage 3 or in Stage 4. That’s still better than the major dating apps.

Tinder is in Stage 5 and has been for a while. Both Hinge and Bumble are at least in Phase 4 and likely in Phase 5. I think there's a stronger argument that Hinge is Phase 5 than Bumble. The last time I was on Hinge, the quality was abysmal. In my major US city, it was all some combination of single moms, overweight women, and overweight African-American women. Bumble has also gone to shiit as well, but I think the women are slightly prettier. Bumble has always had a feminist/careerist/SJW orientation, so that's a good argument for it now being a Phase 5 app.

Everything from this November 2013 article below has only gotten worse since then. Even in the late 2000s/early 2010s, the average woman on dating websites back then was less serious than the single population at large. Now, in 2023, that's gotten even worse with the swipe app era.

Elaborate
I really don’t know much about it. I’ve never used it. Apparently, you wouldn’t need to pay much (or sometimes anything), and the quality was good and flake free. Not so much anymore

Never heard of this one before so Iooked it up. This is what Google tells me;

Seeking operates off a profile-style system where both the successful men and attractive female candidates fill out information about themselves that's shown to the other members of the site. If there's someone you're interested in (from either side), you can send a message to start a conversation.23 nov 2022

funny how a successful man apparently equals a attractive woman. I know, nothing groundbreaking or new but still, funny how its sstll completely acceptable that just being attractive is enough for a woman. The level of attractiveness says absolutely nothing about her "skills" to be a good wife. It didn't say "where successful man AND women can meet up.

Sounds kinda like a meet a millionaire. Com type of thing. I can understand that it lures in certain type of women, as it gives them a change to bypass all the "unsuccessful " men on other apps. Similar to a woman that rather goes to the club where the soccer players hang out than the regular Joe club.

But from a male pov, it just sounds extremly bleuplilled. I can imagine that a man with money but no game tries this because merely being there as a man might give a better succes rate . Also because its more niches what means less users so less competition. Dumb attractive woman meets bluepilled desperate man. Sound like a recepy for trouble..

I agree with you and this makes sense.
But what do you think the audience has gone now?
