Anyone else here find that when you drink alcohol tipsy/drunk you end up overeacting with your emotions?

I seem to get overly angry or emotional when someone annoys me, I find that I'm not in control around females and it's not a good look around chicks.

How did you manage to control this problem? I have decided to reduce the amount of alcohol I drink also avoid drinking around chicks.

This is extremely common. I have an issue with tequila specifically where I become very quick to anger if I am drunk on it. Hence why I generally limit myself because I have had more than one embarrassing moments in the past while drunk on it - with one of them in particular in front of a plate that was downright silly.

Best way to control it is to drink responsibly and not get completely sh1t-faced. You can have a couple to act as a social lubricant, get the good effects while not having to deal with the bad.

Alcohol brings out personal issues that are usually kept below the surface. Horny, anger, and fear become more evident.
You’re right OP, limiting the intake is a good short term fix.

The problem I experience is, for example if someone annoys/upsets me while drinking, I begin drinking even more, and the anger can get to boiling point.

I have decided to really limit drinks, maybe 2-3 drinks and no matter what I don't exceed that limit

This has never happened to me in my 12 years of casual drinking however in the past year it has happened twice....

One time, I was at a bar with my GF. There was a group of 3 guys and 1 girl who kept eyeing my chick. I'm fine with that and I don't care since having an attractive GF will cause this to happen. I'm not a jealous or possessive guy however...

When I went to the bathroom, I saw the chick come over and talking to my GF and she told her that one of the guys wanted to talk to my GF and get her number but she told them that she was with me. Fine, no problem. Carried on with the night.

After some time, the guy and girl sent my GF a note while she clearly has her arms around me. The note said something to the effect of meeting up with her during the week when she was alone.

I felt so disrespected that I took the note and went over to that group. I held the note up and I said "Who the fvck wrote this?" "You see she's with me so if ANY of you have a problem with that, let me the fvck know! and keep your fvcking notes to yourself" I tossed the note across the bar and none of the guys dared look me in the eyes.

That was that and we left.

The second time was similar but I lost my cool when I shouldn't have. The group of girls I was out with calmed me down and that night ended on that note.

Yeh mate I can relate to that. Usually I'm a pretty Stoic person, and I'm very careful about showing any type of jealousy Infront of a chick, however when under the influence of alcohol, all that stoicism ends up going out of the window

I probably would have done the same without Alcohol but under the influence, I was more than ready to throw down with everyone in that group. It probably didn't help that I was on a prohormone and my overall aggression was 10X.

YES! This is why I don't get drunk. I will NEVER have more than a couple of drinks... stay away from the hard stuff, unless it is ONE whiskey... and ONLY the really good stuff.

About a year ago, I went out to a burlesque show that a friend of mine (yoga instructor) was performing in. I drank more than my limit (three whiskeys). I turned into a complete @sshole, I was insulting people and just being a jerk. I was having a bad day, just coming out of the pandemic. I wasn't really drunk but I was rude to her boyfriend, rude to my date, rude to her friends... the next day I was so embarrassed by my behavior I went out of my way to apologize to everyone I spent time with that night.

When you are younger you can get away with drinking more, but trust me when I say when you hit your mid-40s, all alcohol does is make you stupid and sick. When you hit your 50s and you are still drinking like you did in your 30s, you are shortening your life significantly and you quality of life drops like a rock.

Know your limit and have the discipline not to cross that line.

On other news, water is wet.

Stop drinking to excess. Focus on health. You will soon see everything fall into place, your decision making skills will peak.

Coming from an alcoholic.

I tend to mostly drink on my own.. I rarely go to clubs or bars.. On my own I can down 3-4 vodkas and get quite tipsy (not drunk)

However around chicks, I tend to drink even more, and we know alcohol can bring the beta out of us, or jealous angry guy. Honestly man you feel pathetic the following day,.

I have made it a rule, if I am drinking at my house with a chick, I will prepare the drinks, for example separate a certain amount of alcohol... For a weekend I am thinking 3 drinks maximum.. No more than 3 drinks.

Also best to drink from a larger glass/cup, as the drink will require more mixer and will probably last longer, meaning less refills.

serious? I don't, I can't even wonder how, its easier I get sick then lose control, also its not like I drink like hell I almost never drink and in general I can life without, but when I do is more for social gatherings and I tend to just do it without much care, some even said I drink too fast, but since I don't lose control its not like it matters
