I get lots of love in America (Miami/Orlando/SF/Sacremento and the bummy areas at the foot of the mountains (Oroville, marysville etc) very friendly people. I’m a friendly person, I make friends with people in my hotels, on planes, at bars, girls ask about my accent in Walmart, I get numbers from whoever I ask pretty much.

Chinese people are very friendly and helpful, very respectful. I speak to lots of them because of my business. You wouldn’t believe how many of them want to escape China and work abroad. Bit like the Japanese but more authenticity. The Japanese lack humour and very racist to Koreans, weird bunch. If I believed nuclear weapons exist (I don’t, I’m not an idiot), I’d blame America for nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki for causing the weirdness. However both cities were rebuilt quickly during supposed 1000+ year radioactive half life, the radioactive isotopes would make the area still uninhabitable now, but I distress.

You have to understand, the USA is a young country/nation. Compared to other countries/nations/cultures that have been around for way longer its an infant country with an infant culture, therefore this "new kid on the block" mentality is often perceived as arrogant and over-imposing. The US constitution is one of the oldest governing institutions on earth right now. Otherwise, the concept of the USA is older than Germany, Italy, Belgium, most European countries partitioned from collapsed empires, South American countries, Africa, and etc.

Look, as an American I will give you the key. To talk to American women, first learn how to dress at least fashionable. Come up with a look that is somewhat unique but still trendy. Just for clarification, if somebody comes in with a Turban, Robes, and an awkward beard, they are not going to get very far. Next, learn to have fun with it. Too nice and American women assume you're just out for sex. Too rude and you're just going to be that jerk. If I see a beautiful blonde woman at the store I would say something like "quick question, are you naturally blonde or does it come naturally?" Get it? If you gently tease them and have fun with it and make them laugh then it's going to pay off more than some guy going "hey you're really beautiful".

There are good and bad people everywhere. The thing with Americans is that some of them have a superiority complex or are racist, but most of them are pretty cool. I think people from Paris are more rude on average.

True. The key word here is some. We tend to put a lot of emphasis on the, what I am guessing, is the 10% of Americans that fit the white nationalist/racist category.

I don't want to make this political, but it is a fact that this minority of Americans have ALWAYS been with us. To be fair we have about 10% of Americans that are over the top socialist and make up the Antifa/SJW crowd. Neither of the extremes, added together, make up a majority of Americans. Both extremes are just fvcking ridiculous, but they capture a lot of attention. The reason is that for decades the extremes were kept in a box, but again... I don't want to be political, but after Trump was elected President, these jack@sses crawled out of their boxes and are open about their stupidity.

President Trump made extreme right-wing behavior socially acceptable and this created a backlash of extreme left-wing morons taking the stage.

The sad part is when you get these extreme people, one on one, they are in actuality really decent people. I have friends on both extremes, they really care about the country and want what is best for everyone, but as collective groups they are just horrible.

The Antifa riots and the Jan 6th attack on the Capitol are perfect examples: MOST of the people who showed up for BLM protests were just normal people exercising their right to protest... then group think takes over and... well a riot starts. Same for Jan 6th, I know some people that showed up for the President's rally at the White House, but when they started marching to the Capitol common sense took over and they didn't go, the ones that did... well... when they started seeing gallows being constructed and the building stormed, said "WTF!" and walked away. You can say the same thing abut BLM protests... The momentum of the crowd just takes on a personality of it's own like a group think psychological experiment.

Also, non isolated cultures evolve and adapt as time progresses. British culture today is not the exact same thing as British culture 50 years ago or 100 years ago. There’s always going to be a foundation!

There is truth in this statement.

The 'undecided voter' is a myth. A vast majority of Americans make up their minds early on. I don't need a 3 months to decide which candidate I like the least (so I can vote for the other). I do not recall any time in my voting life where I changed my mind about who I was voting for once the nominations were set. The idea that anyone's opinion is going to change as a result of a debate or the campaign process isn't realistic. I do suspect there are truly undecided voters up to election day, but IMO these people are just idiots.... if you can't make a decision about a candidate within a month of the campaign starting you shouldn't vote. What both parties do is run negative campaigns... they aren't trying to get people to vote for their candidate, they are trying to get people who might support the opponent to just stay home.

I remember CNN a few years ago got a collection of about 20 'undecided' voters in a townhall setting and started asking them questions... D@MN, what a bunch of morons. It was like watching the Jerry Springer show. They were asking questions about what they thought was important and how their perceptions of both Clinton and Trump were being perceived. They were idiots... seriously bloody idiots. I'm pretty sure the 'undecided' just close their eyes and pick someone.. so it just ends up being 50-50, so they don't really impact anything.

Every nationality has its issues, making blanket statements about a specific group of people based on their country of origin is a time honored tradition.

Yes, the US has meddled in international affairs for 100 years easily, but so has every country with any ability to project power. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Not sure anyone complained about Americans on Tuesday, 8 May 1945. Or any of the other countless times American blood was spilled in another countries defense. We are hated until we’re needed to bloody someone else’s nose for you.

The same people that complain the hardest about the US are busily consuming American culture, and heavily engaged in consumerism US style.

the weird thing is people from other countries have this assumption that americans are friendly. I dont know where they get this idea from, but americans suck. so rude.

I know a person's reaction to me should not affect how I feel about myself, but it does.

Americans seem to engage in a lot of small talk, more than other places. When I was there I always found it a bit weird to have strangers asking me how my day was going, etc.

On the other hand, I agree that American girls tend to be unfriendly and rarely worth talking to. If I hear an American accent, I pass.

I think they're used to their own sucker-men that buy them drinks, dinner and so on and they have those kinds of expectations, which is something I'm not willing to do.

When I had to cold call as a stockbroker trainee, I was given a stack of lead cards. I quickly learned the rudest area to call was NYC/NJ area. Second was Chicago and Northern Illinois. I put those leads on the bottom of the stack and picked out the few that were from the deep south. Those people wouldn't scream into the phone at me. They would politely tell me "no" after a nice bit of conversation.

There is a diary of a union civil war officer who was held at the Andersonville pow camp. He said that the "new yawkers" terrorized the camp with their aggressiveness and brashness.
