Hobbies are for you and your enjoyment with ancillary access to social circles. Sharing an interest with friends, makes the pursuit more rewarding. Having a common interest in something with a woman can increase the connection you feel with each other. I will caution people though, if there is a competitive element to your hobbies, that you separate that from your relationship.

Too often I've seen jealousy and resentment come from prioritizing a hobby over the personal relationship.

My hobby is racing cars and I'm super passionate about it. Women love the excitement, the danger, the drama, the roller coaster of emotions when you win one night and destroy the car the next. They have all said they find my passion for it very hot. They also like being in the limelight as I do it on a semi-professional level. Its a tingle generator in many aspects, and has definitely helped me attract girls.

But it also has negative effects. Its a huge commitment 8 months out of the year. Lots of late nights working on the cars, lots of miles on the road traveling from track to track. Racing at my level takes priority over many things. She has to accept the lifestyle or find someone else.

If you have look and status maybe, but not if you play dubstep, the worst genre in electronic music. I know a guy, super talented producer (house, tech-house, etc.), got signed on several major labels like Defected for example, got his songs played by Top DJs, I think he even made the Beatport top 100 once or twice. He is short and not good looking. He doesn't get laid. I used to know a lot of DJs (I'm a former DJ and producer myself) most of them weren't getting laid.

DJing and producing music has changed, it's not a big deal anymore, anybody can DJ with a laptop Numark controller and a cracked Virtual DJ and FL studio. So yes being a DJ can help, but only if you tall, good looking, etc. A good example would be Apashe: model type male, European (Belgium), speaks French (exotic), super talented, comes from a good family... he probably get girls here and there.

@theEDMgod, the guys used to chase models that live abroad by slipping in their DMs, couldn't get none o course and now he's dating models, singers and actresses because he's a Dubstep DJ... yeah.

Also I’m pretty certain models responding to me on IG has to do with my status as a DJ. I mean come on, they have too many options and guys trying to DM them, why would they consider responding to some random dude? And also not all models I message respond to me on IG, my response rate is usually 2 out of 10 girls I message.

So clearly there has to be some kind of attraction or intrigue. I’m just really curious that’s all.

And to clarify these aren’t just wannabe instathots, they are actual agency models, some of them with well over 10k followers.

Maybe yes, maybe not, I'm sure those girls also reply to random guys (not DJs), because they are validation junkies or/and they have time to waste while they sit on the toilet. Why do girls use Tinder, why do they chat with 489274923 guys and meet none? It's entertaining, they get their validation fix and that's what they need. They are completely addicted.

I don't see why they would reply if it's not for the these 2 reasons. You message girls that live in other cities and countries/continents. Ok you're a DJ, then what? She is going to book a flight and travel to Chicago to go on a date with you because you're a DJ? I don't think so. You're entertaining them, it's fun that's why they reply. And not all girls are into DJs, and the ones that date DJs are the ones who party a lot, club girls, not the best quality in my opinion, but that is another story..

Instathot or signed model, no difference in terms of "seeking validation", being entitled, etc. Same thing. A signed model is just a girl that is signed in a model agency, she doesn't have to show pictures of her a$$ to be a thot, just the fact that she posts pictures of herself all the time and that her only goal in life is to gain more followers prove that she is a thot, thot but subtle thot. The fact that she is signed prevents her to show her a$$ like the instathots because it would play against her (bookings), model agencies have rules for that since the instagram of the girl is shown on her comp card, they represent the agency and the agency wants to preserve a "clean" image.. They're full of sh1t.

You put models on a huge pedestal, not good. I've dated a lot of models as I worked as a fashion photographer and lived in NYC and Moscow. Most of them are super boring, they have nothing interesting except their beauty. They are obsessed with eating salads and chia seeds, buy clothes and try to look cool, they have no personality. A lot of them do cocaine, it helps to stay thin and and give them a temporary purpose in life. Some become high end prostitute/escort. The typical model is full of herself, they are really superficial, they only date super tall guys (I'm lucky 6.2). Dating models is an ego trip, nothing more.

As a DJ you might meet a few but they will probably use you to take pictures in the DJ booth (instagram), get free tickets to cool venues, free drinks, etc, unless you look like Cedric Gervais.. he's always with super babes, I met him once while I was working in a huge club (busboy) and trying to make it as a DJ, I shook his hand after his set and 10 seconds later he was leaving with 2 HB9s, ready to fvck him.. Life is not fair. He looks like a douchebag though.

Don't put them on a pedestal, just saying. Focus on your music, it's time consuming enough, but I think the main focus should be your education and go somewhere in life, I think you're in college? That is good, smart. Don't make the mistakes I made.

Anyway, what you do is not my business, but when I read your posts it reminds me how dumb I was when I was your age, I had a good time but I pay the price now.

Thanks so much for this comment man. You're right. I do put these girls on a massive pedestal. I have little experience and I am just some dude who gets a ton of validation from them replying to me on Instagram. It's really affecting my mental health. I recognize that models are people like us but at the same time it's hard not to put them on a pedestal. It's the biggest ego trip ever for me and I agree it needs to stop. Every time I say "oh I'm not going to focus on models anymore" I end up messaging them again and focusing on them. It's like my ego is trying to fight itself constantly. I want to meet women in person like the old times. I'm going to end this ASAP. It just takes a bit of willpower and discipline, but I know that I'll make it through.

I am in my third year in school currently, studying music. I'm starting to put more of my attention towards music and getting DJ gigs and getting signed to labels. I don't drink alchohol, smoke or do any kind of drugs. I've been looking after myself a lot more lately, paying attention to my health and well being as a person. I've been talking to family and friends more often.
