Being active, plus lots of vitamins and supplements. Collagen has been great for me, been doing it for a year now, definitely knocked off a few years on how I look.
Also eating clean, whole foods, no sugar helps too.

since I hit late 30s I seem to now only need about 6 hours. I just wake up.
I consider 6 hours sleep a lay in. Usually four to five is all I can manage.

For me it's basically a matter of keeping active, and eating healthy.
I did let myself go , badly, during my 40s when my marriage was dead in the water. Eating badly, lazy, piled on weight, etc....
After divorce at 50, got my act together... Eat healthy now, avoid refined/processed sugars as much as is practical...
The excess weight fell off, got back in to cycling though not as much as when I was younger (I was a competitive cyclist in my 20s) - Sleep much better now also.
Now at 58 I'm as healthy as I was at 30, and been told I look mid-40s
I do take some basic supplements (omega 3, vit D, and a multi-mineral that includes zinc and boron)

Fasting

8-9 hrs of sleep (7 minimum)

Sunscreen/face lotion

Avoid seed/vegetable oils and sugar

Avoid chronic stress

That's about it.

Usual stuff:

Exercise
Eat healthily
Drink water
Sleep
Trimmed haircut and beard (and tame the eyebrows!).
Only worry about the sheet you control.

I used to do a lot of cross-country cycling and play footy (soccer), but nowadays rather preserve my joints and now I just do walking and calisthenics/resistance training with some weights.

Prepare/cook 90% of my food. I am a bit sad though as I'll eat the same meals every day for weeks -- but that does mean I can batch cook and not worry about it, just reheat and done.

Care less will help keep you youthful, and of sound mind - to include: I don't own a TV (not that that is saying much), I don't follow the media, I don't follow social (I do like a bit of youtube, though). Keep things simple.

I know, I know. I sound really fun!
Cycling isn't hard on your joints.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Get your sleep. If you cannot sleep eight hours you may have high cortisol levels.

Keep stress at a minimum. Cortisol ages you faster and lowers your testosterone.

Avoid exercises that raises cortisol to chronic levels, example of which is long distance running. Ever notice long distance runners don't age well.

Fasting helps, especially if you have high blood sugar.

Avoid alcohol, sugar, vegetable and seed oils, excess sun, pornography, and negativity.

Don't be poor. Being poor raises your stress levels and makes aging even less attractive.

Live as much on your terms as possible, make good money, do short intense exercises, fast occasionally, get your hormone levels checked, be positive by having something to look forward to, eat lots of vegetables and fruits with low sugar (blueberries, wild fruits, etc.), and think of yourself as young... not in a delusional way but find the youth within yourself.

Why would you want to avoid sugar?
It's not so much avoiding ALL sugars - It's the refined/processed (pure) sugar that they put in so many foods - especially drinks and sweet 'treat' foods such as cakes, cookies etc...
Sugars that occur naturally in fruit and veg, not being so bad....

I was around 295 lbs as I approached 50yrs - then had a blood-pressure scare (stupidly high numbers)
I had basically been 'comfort' eating through most of my 40s due to my marriage being effectively done.
Doc told me I was a walking time-bomb and could basically have a heart-attack and drop dead at any moment if I continued.
He also told me that losing a significant amount of weight would do me far more good than the B-P pills he was giving me....

My diet was FULL of refined/processed sugars at the time, so I dumped it as completely as was practical - I lost 85 lbs in the first 9 months, and went on to eventually lose a total of 110 lbs after getting back into cycling when I got to around 210 lbs.

I had no idea just how much of a lag effect sugar was having on me until I got rid of the refined stuff from my diet.
When losing weight I was worried that I might start to look gaunt, and might be left with hanging skin - like so many who lose a lot of weight suffer from.... It never happened.... I don't even have stretch marks (A friend of mine who lost 80lbs in a year ended up with terrible stretch marks)
I've gone from looking my age, maybe a little older, when I was 50 - to now where I'm regularly told I look early-mid 40s (12-15 yrs younger than I am)
I'm not just lighter and fitter - I sleep MUCH better.... The guy in my pants now responds just like it did when I was 30.....
(Having the physical response of a 30yr-old, combined with the experience and self-control of a 50-something makes a guy a MUCH better prospect for a woman - LOL)
Oh, and a weird, unexpected one.... My hair colour came back. I'd gone almost completely grey during my 40s, but in the first 6-8 months of going no-sugar, my natural 'mouse-brown' colour gradually returned - Even my doctor was baffled by that one.... but the girl who cuts my hair reckons she's seen it a few times in guys who had drastically improved their diet.
Personally, I think the grey could have been yet another result of the lag-effect from processed sugars....

Processed sugar is basically the food equivalent of Satan IMHO.

Invest in a good moisturizer for your skin. I go out fishing a lot and started to use some fairly priced collagen stuff. It made a lot of difference
here in Florida people, especially women look 10 years older many of them due to sun damage and leather skin. I'm very fair skin and very careful to be out in the sun for a long time.

One thing for skin especially if you're older and getting sun spots and darker freckles is to get IPL photofacial. I had it done a couple times and helped a lot. However you gotta find the right place to go to. Many use a low setting just to get you to go multiple times. Better going to a dermatologist who will hit it harder. I'm 38 and have fair skin. When I shave most people think I'm around 30.

Those creams and crap are a waste of cash. Better spending 400 on IPL

The answer to your original question is to not have kids, which apparently you do. Sleep preserves youth, but children take away sleep.
As you might guess from my posts, I think having offspring is one of the reasons we are living and it is worth every scarify. after subtracting work hours and sleep hours nothing remains more than 4-5 hours per day and usually, the family wants these hours.

We understand your situation, but you could create a workout space in your yard/house and sacrifice the hour as you mentioned…

30min Hiit and 30min shower.

Not saying your not a hard worker are a great family man, but in order to take care of your family, you need to take care of yourself.

know what, make it 15mins Hitt 30mins shower.
Thats 45min for yourself out of the 4-5 hour family time.

Think about it.

Get rid of excess alcohol now and then won't hurt but be very careful with it

My old man stopped drinking at like age 25 now he is 59 and looks in his 40's

Comparatively i have a mate who is 30 and would drink everyday of the week if he could

He looks like he is approaching 40

Sleep and stress are another two massive issues

Modern society is obsessed with "working" these really Benial yet intense and stressful jobs

Does it really matter if that report doesn't get finished by the end of the week !?! nah not really

Yet for some reason people will literally kill themsleves to get it in on time

Pushing oxidative stress levels through the roof in the process

Be careful what you kill yourselves on

Comes down to sleep and diet, gents. Also minimizing stress.

Seems like a no brainer but in my estimation there are probably only a small % of people who are on point when it comes to all 3.

Why the knock on seed oils?

There is zero nutritional benefit to sugar and only harm in consuming it, it's basically a toxin. Small amounts from fruits/honey/dairy are probably okay.
Yes on sugar and refined carbs. However, there is nuance with natural carbohydrates. Carbs are the body’s preferred energy source. Low carb diets are suboptimal for people without cardio metabolic disorders (I.e. diabetes). Carbs are certainly needed and preferred for active people. They should be the largest macro, especially near workouts.

Yeah. A lot of things have omega 6 though. Like chicken. And some seed oils like canola have a decent omega 3/6 ratio
Omega 6 in seed oils are much more concentrated than what is found in chicken, pork, butter, or beef. Your body actually doesn't need very much omega 6, you get plenty of omega 6 from other natural sources.

My man I think having a TV is very useful when you bring a chick over to chill. A nice big flatscreen oled 4k uhd tv with a good sound bar and sub will make a girl feel more comfortable I think

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.
