several girls have told me I am so direct and straightforward. one once told me "when you came to talk to me you appeared so determined"

I want to give you an example of my interaction today

I said "I am gonna have to ask you to leave the premises"
she said "why?"
I said "because we don't allow cute people here"
I said "I like you natural nose"
she said "Thanks but I am going to change it in september"
I said "no don't change it, I like it natural"
she said "no it's going to change so enjoy it while you can"
I said "are you college educated?"
she said "yes. wow you are so direct"
I said "Ya. what was your major?"
she said "why?"
I said "because I want to make sure we are a good match because I am a math person"
she said "we are a good match but I am married"

I don't understand what direct means. This is the only way I know. How do other guys do it? Can you change my conversation above to something that's not direct?

OP is a great example for guys at this type of game that need to first educate through study (yes reading books) then apply. No matter how bad you are at applying this at the biggining.

someone in real life also told me to read books but I hate books. I like to get my hands dirty instead of reading theory. Yes I know it's less efficient and by reading a book I could save years of trying to figure this thing out. Also I am gathering that you think I would be more successful if I was more vague? Now that I am thinking about it majority of my successful interactions happened when I was being vague, when the girl couldn't tell if I am trying to flirt or not.
But just fyi for me it's about quality. I am not like other guys that only care about quantity. I am really trying to find someone that I respect and appreciate and I hate 95% of the population because they are stupid and piss me off.
