This has probably been covered at some point but I'm not having much luck with the search feature. Has anyone laid out any kind of guide/toolbox for how to apply DJ methodology to online dating apps? For instance, something like if a girl messages you back, don't message her back right away, wait a certain amount of time, what to and not to say in your profile, pic advice, or any other generalized info to help in this area? I know it's a crapshoot but right now since I'm working 75 hours a week and Sunday night is my only night off it's one of my few options.

I was thinking if there isn't any comprehensive guide or thread on this topic then maybe we could use this thread to share ideas. One thing I remember from another thread is that it's pretty much standard practice to add an inch or two to your height, especially if you're 6'0" or under.

Since no replies yet, I'll start by sharing some of my personal experiences, and hopefully more people can jump in.

If you're not already getting likes just from the simple act of existing (meaning create a profile and doing nothing else), which probably applies to the majority of us I would venture, then you obviously need to put a little effort in, which will involve sending messages. And I think this is where the time investment kicks in, as well. You want a message that is going to stand out from all the hundreds of 'hey's and 'what up, girl's.

The most common advice you find in the mainstream online is to comment on something about her profile besides her looks, because she's already getting plenty of comments in that area. So rather than sending generic greetings I would read their profiles and try to find something to comment on, whether it be a shared interest or maybe asking a question about something she said. The success rate of this method was a lot higher of course, but it was much more time consuming.

Another thing I tried was neg hits, thinking with all the simps on there a strategy like this would stand out more. I'm not ruling this out. I did get one response but it went nowhere, probably due to other factors that I may or may not have had any control over. A girl was saying that she was looking for a nice guy. I simply said 'I call bull**** on the nice guy comment'.

She responded 'Oh yeah? You don't know me, Sir.'

So I responded ' I don't, but I know enough. I've also seen it in practice. We're all told to be 'nice guys', and I was that guy in my past relationships. I put them on a pedestal, was attentive to all their needs and would pretty much do whatever they wanted without ever asking for anything. They got bored, lost respect for me and stopped desiring me like they did. But I learned. I'm not saying a guy should be an *******. Big difference between just being a 'nice guy' and treating someone right. Often times what people think they want and what actually makes them happy are two different things '

She said
'I see what you’re saying and I get it…
In my case, having been through divorce, and a lot of ****, I now know what I want and I know what I don’t want. I’ve grown, I’m a lot older and wiser than when I dated in the past. I made sure to include that I like nice guys because I truly do. I am a nice person myself and I’d like that in someone I’m involved with.'

Then I said
'It's kind of funny to me though because the last woman I dated said almost the exact same thing. But you're right, I don't know you. Maybe you really are a rare woman who knows what she wants ;)
Why do you think your previous relationships failed?'

No response after that. I don't know if her interest level just wasn't high and she was simply defending herself from my perceived attack and then moved on or if I blew it with what I said.

I used to have long hair and I've cut my hair short, partly because it's starting to thin and doesn't look as good anymore. I think it looks better and I've updated my profile pics.

I'm 5'7 1/2" but I had my height listed as 5'8" thinking it not a bad thing to round up. I've since brought it up to 5'9" lol.

I've shortened the description in my profile to leave more to the imagination and try to keep a little mystery to it.

I'm currently a Team Lead but interviewing for computer-aided drafting jobs, so I changed my occupation to 'Engineering' to play it up a little bit.

I can't say that any of these things have made a huge difference yet. I'd like advice on how to create an effective profile and pics, as well as anything anyone might notice about things I've tried that I could improve on.

Okay so I was going through the recommended reading list and did come across this, for anyone who hasn't seen it:

I'd say there was probably some halfway decent advice, though the article is 11 years old so badly needs an update.

I've applied some of this advice as far as my profile description goes. The other thing I've done is tried to follow DJ protocol as far as messaging. I have completely stopped swiping/giving likes. I have simply waited to either receive a like or a message. And amazingly, I seem to actually be getting more bites! Now granted, some could be scammers as usual, but there appear to also be some living, breathing women contacting me. Probably none that I would be all too interested in, but it's an improvement from nothing I guess lol.

The other thing I'm doing is not messaging them right away if they give me a like or message. I'll wait a day. If they happen to respond right after I message them, I might message them back right away.

I could use some tips for closing if anyone has any, as well.

women are ALLOWED to lie and deceive

you doing it will be perceived as weakness.

they can shove cucumbers up there fanny and make their boobs look bigger with angles.

you tell society you have purchased a sex doll, or use enhancers on your penis, you will be disqualified from dating.

I haven't done any of those things lol. Are you referring to adding an inch to my height? General consensus here seems to be that this is common practice for guys under 6'0", and that women even expect it.

The only protocol for OLD is to be original and funny neither of which can really be taught

Its a woman playground, nearly every metric on there favours them massively men are just provided for entertainment

The quality of women on the apps also tends to be low and the longer a woman spends on the apps the faster she will decline

I banged two chicks from OLD in the last 6 months neither of which i would ever want to see again and both were borderline catfishes

Women enjoy short hits of dopamine from guys thirsting over trap pics and begging for sex

Yeah, I totally get that. Like I said my options are limited right now (though soon to change). I figure since I'm doing it, might as well try to make the most of it

women will lose all interest in you if they sniff any deception, they will class it as weakness, there is no such thing as equality, they know innately men are superior and they are weak professional victims.

Wow have they really neutered bumble. Decide to make an account just for bs. They dont give you very many swipes anymore before you gotta sign up for premium. Usually it lasts a full day. Now just a few swipes and it wants you to get premium to keep swiping

There are men who spend 300 a month for gold on apps to get unlimited swipes. Are simps this desperate they will pay 100s?

I’ve found younger women on OLD don’t respond well to teasing.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

Yep. It's done in sports too. NHL 6 foot an under they always add at the min 2 inches. NFL is like this too beefing height and weight up. Same way in Hollywood. Brad Marchand is listed as 5-9 but if you meet him in person he's more like 5-5 or 5-6. Martin St. Louis talked about this too.

Also, it logically follows that because women operate on a fundamentally dishonest, emotional level…when she encounters lying men it’s actually relatable for her. Women are constantly “massaging” reality. And I don’t think they are in complete denial about it. I think women are capable of looking at their own dishonest behaviour, dark mating decisions, and being quite disturbed by it. So when she encounters a man who’s dishonest there’s something there that she recognises.

It’s weird. There’s almost some comfort in it for her - “oh he’s just lying to get in my pants. Tehehe”
Being honest gets you nowhere with women, anyone who says "honesty is the best policy" is full of shvt.

I don't even tell girls from OLD my real name or real job, So many guys tell the girls way too nuch personal info at the start and wonder why they get cancelled.

I also tell them a bunch of fake stories about how "exciting" my life is. If i was honest it would be just playing video games at home which would be a turn off.

Also telling girls you arw dating others is idiotic, only trashy girls would stay.
