People in (much) of the US are very friendly and it’s easy to get in conversations with strangers. So this service probably wouldn’t fly here.

Fricking Washington post has a pay wall on that article so you cannot read it.

But I know that I have read about this before long time ago that this has been in issue for Japanese men for many years now. So it is not a new thing and also the Japanese culture is kind of strange too/very different than the western culture.
