Taxation is a slow, excruciating, death.

And, it never ends.
I had to sell my house because the taxes kept going up so rapidly in my county that it pushed me across the line from comfortably affordable to stretching my financial limits too far.

It's worse if you have a second job as a side gig. It raises your tax bracket, and you have to pay more on the income from your primary job. It makes zero sense.
From the states perspective it makes sense, they want to squeeze everything they can out of you up to the point before you leave lol

Nice return = giving the government an interest free loan.

The goal should be to be as close to 0 on your tax return as possible.

F those parasites. It's legalized mafia. I'm still chain gunning pickup but my biggest focus is exit strategy. High taxes and lock downs.

There's some wealthy and rich men in my network FEARFUL right now with what's going on in the world. Men usually won't talk about it but @darksprezzatura nailed it. Fellas must level up.

I think a lot goes towards politicians paycheques, in Australia they get a $100 thousand annual pension once they "retire". Our politicians also regularly use taxpayer money to fly from sydney to canberra on a private jet.

Our Pime Minister earns more than the American president

I don't think anyone likes the idea of their hard earned money going towards some corrupt politician.
The amount of a Federal budget going to elected official salaries and pensions is not all that large. In America most of our budget goes to the military and social security.

Like it’s fun to bvtch about politicians but they are a very small cost in the overall financial picture.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

A massive amount of money goes to legal and illegal immigrants. Also our very own lazy fraudulent welfare recipients.
Sadly "and I do apologize" my own sister also. And free handicap parking, she claims disability. She never says a word because she knows it pis-ses me off.
In the United States this is just blatantly untrue. It’s actually the reverse. A lot of non-resident immigrants and asylum seekers actually have a social security number and pay federal taxes.

Here in Australia our income tax rate is higher then America, the vast majority of it goes towards welfare (including corporate welfare) and pensions (including government pensions).

The american military budget is insane, you guys spend more than the next ten countries combined.

You have to reach a point financially to hit escape velocity. If you don't you will have to take whatever the state decides to throw at you. Next few years will be crucial and the window is closing

Our Tax money supposedly goes towards health, roads and education but the healthcare system is garbage, roads are barely maintained and education is garbage in public schools.

It makes you wonder, where is the money really going?

Into the bureaucrats pockets

People without kids shouldn't have to pay the portion of taxes that goes towards school systems.
I am sure every person ends up paying taxes for something they "shouldn't have to". No way around it. Nobody is creating some crazy system where status of taxed or not taxed changes every few months. Could you imagine the abuse THAT would be ripe for? Already have enough abuse as it is, that would open a tsunami of abuse opportunities.

Being part of society means you contribute to it.

Nah, I drive everywhere. I shouldn’t have to pay for sidewalks or public transportation. I also don’t commit crime nor have never been victim of crime. Forget the police. I’ve never had a fire. I shouldn’t have to pay for the fire department.

So I just moved up a tax bracket or two. Still not making a lot of money but i used to be borderline poverty. I was used to getting a nice tax return. This year I get barely anything.

My friend told me this is why people don't work too hard because you just get taxed extra aggressively. He makes about 150k and says he only takes home about half of that after taxes. This is highway robbery.

Is this what high income earners have to deal with?!!! It's bullsheeet.
It's to support the less fortunate (who refuse or can't find a job). It's not right, however, there are more have nots than haves. Thus, they elect people who will enact laws that benefit the people who put them there.

And yet it is often said that the rich don't pay their fare share. Amazing.
Rich are paying plenty of taxes. They just use deductions and losses to offset any gains. That's what people seem to not understand. Many states now have min. taxes that all have to pay since many rich people get around paying "their fair share". It's a clusterfvck of unreal proportion. Cut the entitlement programs, taxes would fall.

Just think. A worker pays somewhere between 10% - 37% of their taxes to the Feds. They pay another 15% or so for FICA, then another 4%-8% to the state for taxes on their labor. Let's not forget about an additional 6% of sales tax on nearly everything we buy. At min., people are paying 34% of their wages to the governments. In actuality, we're paying closer to 50% or more in taxes on our wages. I have tenants who pay very little for rent, food, medical, utilities, and such. They are all subsidized by the gov't through taxes. They can work, but they choose not to. It's disgusting. If a person needs help, then fine, but people live off the dole for decades and we all just pay it. There should be means based apportion with the requirement for work. As of now, there isn't.

I wouldn't call what they are doing "living". More like existing. Kinda like ****roaches...they have no ambition to do anything with their life, no plans to succeed, and no future...other than hoping they can stretch their government checks to the next month.

I don’t think our country ready for the fallout caused by cutting all social services. If anything those programs temper homelessness and social unrest from what they truly would be.

As for the rich paying taxes, the income taxes specifically target higher incomes because they pay far less relative to their income in consumption tax and property tax.

I am lowish-upper middle class and I don’t pay much of anything in consumption taxes (unprepared grocery and clothes aren’t taxed where I live and my car is electric).

Any form of redistribution that doesnt consider the output of an individual goes against the very foundation of men thinking which is highly based on merit rather than inclusion as the female mindset.

It makes zero sense in terms of logic even before than effectiveness to make it unconvenient for someone to be more productive.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
