I was on Youtube and i saw this video of highschool fitness in 1962, this was done everyday. Men need competitive environments somewhere to be aggressive and have healthy competition.

Doubtful 99% of the population can do this nowadays.. Including me, and I'm in pretty decent shape.

Those programs declined because they were preparing boys to go to war. I'm a bit amoral when it comes to this, I understand men will be needed to be ready when called into action, but at the same time I guess it infringes on personal liberty and freedom of choice with the draft. You can't have a country without also be willing to die for it.

Our school had a top of the line, brand new, fitness room with gym equipment, but none of the guys really used it to exercise. Other than myself, I can count maybe 2-3 guys in my class of 300 who took it semi-seriously. Our coaches would have us do maybe 3-4 stretches and some planks and then let us go about our business. More than half the class walked around the gym, and then there were a few dozen people in the center who played maybe badminton or soccer.

There was actually some stigma against working out among the student body. It was weird. When it came to the state exams, the instructors flubbed the numbers, hard. Girls couldn't do a single push up, guys could just get around 15-20 or so. To keep the class from failing they'd write it off. I can sort of sympathize with the instructors since it's hard to have actual discipline with students today, but at the same time I knew some of them were lazy f*cks who were in it for the paycheck.

I had a PE teacher who rolled her chair out into the center of the gym and sat her obese ass in it and told the students what to do. She couldn't do any of the movements herself, so when asked for instruction she'd have one of the students perform the motion.

Public high school btw. Private schools are definitely more invested, but not all.

I think a good indication of masculinity is also the use of corporal punishment; that has been in decline since 1900.

We 100% need that back, Kids these days need real discipline. Now they just let them run wild in the classroom because the teacher can't do anything, it distracts the rest of the class so the quality of the education goes down the drain.

Two factors, lack of passion from the staff as well as the students. With the obesity epidemic straining the healthcare system in the west you would think people would create initiatives for students to be in fitness programs but instead they do the bare minimum. At my school they actually made PE class optional after year 9, most people didn't pick it since you didn't need it for the final exams.

The simple fact that we can no longer do it should be ringing alarm bells.

When I was in the military, it was pretty hard, but most people couldn't do it. At 38, prob. couldn't do it now either without help from the drugs that The Rock, Sly Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Cena and others use to get through the pain. Our bodies weren't made to last indefinitely. We can tone up and exercise, but no to the levels of the athletes mentioned above without chem. help. Machines break down from wear and tear; do does the human body. 15 year ago, sure, now, prob. not. Just being real.

@Zimbabwe That's the thing, we have programs, but the American education system is extremely corrupt. At least our military still has some tight knots to keep things in working order so we don't lose submarines or aircraft, and you actually have to be certified and capable of demonstrating some sense of technical know how.

They are lagging behind in physical standards, but our technological capabilities are the top of the line. Even if our troops are out of shape fat f*cks, warfare is conducted primarily through drone strikes and strategic operations which either have 2 dudes sitting in the Nevada desert launching a missile at a building thousands of miles away, or spec ops commandos kicking doors down with operators who've killed hundreds of people. They aren't sending Sammy the tranny from Iowa to do their work for them.

American public education on the other hand is a total **** show. ESPECIALLY in the inner cities. I knew guys who were in sped along with 90 other students, after falling a bit behind and into the cracks counselors would work with shrinks to hand out disorders like they're candy. Why? Because by classifying them as special education, they won't bring the schools cumulative performance down and the state funding won't dry up. My math teachers were feminists who'd go into tangents about their miserable lives, english was basically woke indoctrination 101 unless you were blessed with a male teacher who wasn't a complete cu*k.

The victim mentality permeates the culture, it's everyone but no ones fault. The main office had almost a dozen secretaries, some of which were hired just to go for paper runs and suck money away from the taxpayer. The school would have repairs ongoing for MONTHS on a "leaky roof" so they could hire their brothers contractor and he'd have a secured income for the next year. One hand rubs the other as they say. I could go on, but nobody gives a $hit, not even the state who should be responsible for cleaning up this mess but won't because the politicians we vote for are the same ones perpetuating it in the first place.

high schools in the UK are ran by females, and ironically are really ruled by the children.

Infact Ive arranged an appointment this week to see my daughters headmistress.

My daughter excels in every area, and yet they have come up with a rule, that as long as the 5 most naughtiest kids turn up at the least. they can wear their nike air force ones, and man bags.

I can feel a Ray Velcoro moment coming on.....

Yeah most men are soft these days, luckily for me I grew up in the inner city or "hood" whatever you wanna call it, sh!t will make a man out of you......

It's all about how you was raised, you grow up soft then you will be soft, you grow up tough then you will be Tough......

And physical fitness has nothing to do with masculinity at all.....

No dude in their right mind is attracted to a female built like Chyna.
I guess that is what guys who went to prison said before they went there. At least it may be worth a test for Sparta 2, Amazones 2.

I've actually been philosophizing on this lately. And just like in Fight Club, I think men would highly benefit from forming groups and tribes like these. Perhaps, not with the approach to get ready for war (although civil war is a probability) but simply to form a group of men that can get back to physical, hard, challenging behaviors and hold each other accountable. This is the entire point of Jack Donovan's in The Way of Men.

Things like strength, courage, honor, etc take a whole new meaning when they live inside a tribe.

I have many visions/goals for this company. And the reason why I've been pondering at this concept lately is that I plan to establish these types of gatherings/clubs/tribes/communities whatever you want to call it all around. Have a structured gathering where we discuss theology, concepts, ideas, but also do physical things like build things, fight (for those that want that outlet), train, lift heavy s**t, create obstacle courses, hunt, endure challenges, etc. Bottom line, I'd like to create tribes of men willing to be challenged.

But anyway, great post. Much needed nowadays.

Never been to prison, never had gay prison fantasies such as you say. You should speak to someone about that.

I went into a Big 5 the other day and the 17 year old boy behind the counter had fake nails and the muscle tone of a wet noodle.

That's ATG and I cannot speak for a dude who's been dead for over 2500 years. As for Nazi Germany, they were brainwashed due to a nutcase and looked for a scapegoat in the Jews, Gypsy's, Catholics, Christians, and anyone else who was not a Protistan, white, blond hair and blue eyed German. Germans are usually smart, but to follow a nutcase who was half Jewish, short, with brown hair and brown eyes, never a German citizen, show's how anyone can be duped into stupid sh!t.

Point being, in laymen's terms, don't follow history, create your own.
