According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average annual salary for a 25-34 year old male in the U.S. is $46,400.

Because of that, I don't see the average American guy as someone who's into style, game, self-development, and enjoying some of the finer things in life.

I view the average American guy as living in a small 1 bedroom apartment, hardly furnished or decorated, eating takeout most nights, playing PlayStation, and going to dive bars with 'the boys' on the weekends.

What are some small changes you think the 'average guy' can make in his lifestyle, given the income constraint, to become more desirable to quality women?

Whose to say those guys aren't getting laid front, left, right and center? Those guys know they don't have the material and financial spoils, so perhaps their game more than makes up for it.

1) get rid of the video gaming.
2) exercise with a group
3) become active in your industry through trade groups and continuing education.
4) Read Books
5) Write. Keep a journal or do creative writing. learn to express yourself eloquently off the cuff.
6) socialize with other men who challenge you to better yourself...Physically, financially, and how you present yourself in public.

First thing I recommend, is to ditch the $35k/year friends that don't show any desire to better themselves.

We become who we spend most of our time with.

Getting laid isn't the primary goal of a man's life. Well, not any guy I have in my circle.

When a guy turns 23 and has a degree, he needs to leave the fratboy lifestyle behind.

Self improvement is a part of this website, but the core reason for it is to be attractive and socially savvy enough to have successful outcomes when it comes to the lady.

Because those threads are framed around discussion, a lot of your threads read like blog posts as opposed to actual questions or topics of discussion.

The average guy is average because he still thinks and acts like a child.

I've always said this, having a d**k and getting laid doesn't automatically make you a man. Being a man is a choice followed by actions.

So as @2Rocky listed, pretty much stop the childish behaviors with the video games and whatnot and start acting like a man that earns the respect of others. Meaning start contributing and being a pillar in society.

when I was 18.. shared a cheap apartment with some guys. I was poor but had the most money in the place. LOTS of women came through. Most of those women never got out of that area at that time, they just lived in that section. some walked, some drove mom's car, some had a kid already, some addicts, some crazy, some older but it was a lot. doesn't fit the self-improvement model at all. only now did I think about that.

Good list. However, you can do anything in moderation. For instance, I play video games before bed here and there -- usually Madden or something, to unwind after a busy day. I certainly don't think that is destructive in any way whatsoever -- quite the opposite actually. Successful people live, eat, and breath their craft, but it is still important to have an outlet for other things.

I would also add eliminating excessive drinking. I think a lot of "average" guys will just go sit at the local watering hole drinking every night. Again, moderation allows you to go out and drink here and there, especially if it is in social settings. But certainly not an every night thing where you become one of the locals who sits by himself and drinks 5-6 beers each night.

Some of this is to be expected. A lot of us, myself included, found this website after a bad experience with women (many times a failed marriage). So some of this negativity is to be expected. The problem occurs when we get longtime posters who just continually breath this negativity into the forum and aren't doing anything to constructively improve the site (or likely themselves).

The most productive time I ever had with women is when I had vurtually nothing, small apartment and a steady income. I was just doing my thing.
Money helps buy you time but it doesnt buy you game.

Really depends on region. in Metro NYC, 46k wouldn't get you much. A one bedroom in the Bronx or even in Bridgeport is between 1500 1800 a month. One could prob. live like a king in the south/mid-west though (why would anyone want too, IDK).

I've always strived to make $$$ and self-supporting since my teens. We were poor and were nearly thrown out of our home more than once due to $$$ issues. Females always came second for me. Eduction and $$$ were and still are my #1 priority. Just remember, money makes more money, females can and do come and go. Every dude's # 1 is to be self-supportive and make money. Everything after that falls in line. Nothing wrong with hanging with other dudes and getting laid. However, if one doesn't plan early for sufficiency in finance, they will regret it later.

If that wage comes along with a 40 hour work week or less, you can do better in terms of numbers than a dude making quadruple that but working 80 hours a week (or even 60). Time is as valuable as money in this game. I would use that time to do lots of social/charitable activities involving women, to read and become a more well rounded and interesting person, playing recreational sports, and of course working out constantly. These are all things I can't do anymore due to work.
Good post. Time IS money at the end of the day. If I work every minute of my life I can have more money than if I don't. But what is the point at that juncture? I would rather work 50 hours a week and make good money than 80 and make elite level money. Life needs to still be enjoyable.

I cant tell you how many times I've been blown out of a set because I was too tired to really ramp up my charisma. An energetic man is an attractive man, not someone on their 6th cup of coffee just to stay awake.
It definitely affects your ability to game women. No doubt about that. Like you said, having a positive energy/vibe gets really difficult if you are heading straight from work at 8:00 p.m. at night and have had to deal with bullsh1t for 80 hours that week. Hell at that point I would probably just rather go home and go to sleep.
