Not exactly sure what is happening, but Sunday is the new Friday.

I've never seen anything like this before.
Grocery stores & Retail outlets are packed to the gills with young women on Sunday evenings between 4-8pm
This may or may not have something to do with Christmas. Still not sure yet.
So far it's been two weeks in a row I've witnessed this observation on Sundays while going out at the same exact time.

Sunday evenings always used to slow & mellow for grocery shopping. Now it's the complete opposite.

Friday night is for young professionals to get wasted after a long work week, the weekends are better and more chill.

I exclusively approach on weekends

I didn't think that Friday 4-8 PM was a big time for grocery shopping. I could see Sunday 4-8 PM being a big time for grocery shopping.

Over time, I have most commonly done grocery store approaching on weekend and usually before 6 PM on weekends. Mask wearing has made grocery store pickup more challenging.

This is fascinating. Once you complete your research into this phenomenon, be sure and let us know.

You could be right about Christmas Shopping pushing grocery store traffic to Sunday evening. I usually try to avoid shopping on weekends but if you are giving lots of gifts, and you shop in the company of other people as a social event, then that would put you in Downtown accordingly, when everyone can get together.

I've also noticed peeple are hitting the restaurants a lot more this month.
