Curious has anyone ever got those filler injections for around the eyes to diminish dark circles and for a younger look? I've had IPLs done this year and my skin looks pretty clear, the big aging spots and freckles have been reduced and many totally gone, but I'd like to get rid of the dark circles.

The dermatologist I go to does it $850 per eye. It's expensive and they usually only last a couple years before breaking down. Also I've read there is VERY rare instance people go blind if the person doing it accidently injects it into a blood vessel.

The dermatologist also sells a cream for $85 she said to try first.

Don't waste money on eye serum. I tried this with no luck.

Well you got me curious so I looked up some makeup/concealer choices. The problem is the majority of products are for women, if that tells you who actually worries the most about this type of cosmetic problem.
It seems men have a product called War Paint available in 4 Or 5 skin shades, but all these concealers are basically just a pancake makeup like used in stage productions.

When you mean by serum the cream I mentioned or injections?
They are a type of cream, though not thick. Kind of like a less thick moisturizer for the eyes, that supposedly have ingredients in them that help reduce the dark circles.

The one my derma said was more of a treatment and said it's iron deficiency that causes it and thus treats it but I think it's a gimmick $85 for it. The injections seem like a better option but is 1700 worth the cash and they very slight slight risk they cause vision damage?

Also, the covid shot was causing temp swelling of fillers too in the face.

What I figured. The injections work for a few years. However, the last 40 years I've read there have been a few people who have gone blind or had vision damage during the procedure because it got injected into a blood vessel. Very rare, but is it worth the risk?

If your eyes look like a raccon e.g. baggy eyes then plastic surgery is probably the only the way to fix it.

I don't have the baggy eyes. Doctor said it's usually caused by Iron deficiency.

Firstly OP what caused your dark circles? Is it from lack of sleep, vitamin deficiency or allergies?

Once you figure it out, tackle the problem instead of relying on cosmetics or surgery.

Likely a combo of all 3!

I would say mine are at least 90% genetic. My eyes are also deep set, causing shadows to fall on them, making them look even worse.

Also, if you're skinny, low body fat that can also cause it too if you lost a bunch of weight and noticing your eyes are hollow because your face is less puffy because you lost weight.

I'm thinking mine is the blood vessels a big factor, lack of iron.

But is the very low risk of the injections worth it causing eye damage or blindness? Also they only last a few years and about 1700 bucks.

Reading up more, lower Blepharoplasty might be a better option. The results are more permanent and last years and years and seems like a much lower risk too versus the injections which can be $1500 or more bucks a treatment and only last a year and more risks involved. Risk for blindness is rare in injections but doesn't seem worth the risks for such a short term results.

Blepharoplasty seems to run 3 to 6k depending on regions. Next year when my bank account bulks up more I might look into this.

You would be better off spending that money on socializing coaching, or weekends in Tampa.

I saw you bring up Tampa in the past before. Why is that? What's wrong with my region with a median age of 50 to 57 years old, depending on which county? The town in my county which I live in actually has a median age of 66 years old.

A coworker at my part time job has some nice cash saved up and said he's moving away when he gets his degree finished up next year. Like he visited Orlando and Atlanta. He said Orlando was totally opposite of here. Younger, more vibrant and fun and people into fitness and taking care of themselves. He can't understand why I want to live in this area.

Tampa is about 100 miles away. I've had the chance to go on dates from OLD around Tampa but didn't feel like driving nearly 100 miles for a date. I was too tired and didn't want to spend the money on gas.
