Yes, agree with you completely about choice, but I fear if enough people remain unvaccinated, the government may get to the point of putting some real financial or other kind hurt on those people until they comply.
Look at their recent history of shutting down businesses and lockdowns to stop the spread.

While it is understood that viruses mutate, causing variants, French Virologist and Nobel Prize Winner Luc Montagnier contends that “it is the vaccination that is creating the variants.”

The most problematic variant right now is the Delta variant, which originated in India, a country with very low vaccination rates.

What happens is that the virus replicates inside a person millions of times and each time it replicates there's an opportunity for mistakes to be made in the viral replication process, which leads to mutations. Most of these mutations make the virus less effective and so they disappear, but if a mutation makes the virus more effective then this new strain of the virus outcompetes the previous natural strain and becomes dominant.

It's true that vaccination (or more accurately, partial vaccination) could result in new variants becoming more dominant because variants that can evade the vaccines would have an advantage over those that can not. However, once the vaccination rates get high enough there will be less people getting infected, which means there will also be less opportunities for mutations.

In any case, the vaccinations can be tweaked if necessary to account for this and it appears so far that they are effective enough against all of the new variants.

I actually predicted that this was a medical insurance recession/ depression/ crash, however you want to call it. Covid was just a cover up for something crashing on the financial side of healthcare, whether that's government medicaid, insurance money being squeezed, or hospitals losing profts in some way. In 2008, when the stock market collapsed and the economy tanked, it was at least safe to go to a bar without worrying about getting some potentially fatal respiratory disease. The stock market and economy tanked in 2020 for a few months, but the stock market has been on fire since May 2020. Then again, the stock market was strong from bottoming out in mid-March 2009 until reaching the October 2007 highs in March 2013. I was astounded in 2013 when 2007 levels were reaching in only 5.5 years. Stocks didn't reach 1929 levels after that crash until 1954.

I graduated in the 2007-08 school year and it was terrible. In Fall 2007, my interview pipeline dried up. I was getting ghosted by employers before the term ghosting became a thing. Some of my classmates told stories about hiring freezes and similar ghostings to mine. It was quite difficult to recover from that. Graduating into 2008 and taking a layoff at the beginning of COVID in 2020 were brutal for me, but I did get employed after 2008 and then re-employed in 2020. I don't know many people who took the double beating I took with 2008 and 2020. For men, employment status has an impact on dating outcomes for men who project a more middle class and higher type image. I was mostly referring to nurses getting laid off and people not being able to go to the hospital like usual. The hospitals have been intentionally being restrictive, which I suspect has everything to do with insurance and government healthcare.
