Agreed. I have a solid policy: no hired guns. They are literally paid to be nice to customers. Don’t take advantage of it. Their job is hard enough as it is. Plus, if you can only get girls who are paid to be nice to you, you have more work to do.
I thought she might have been into me though, and if you saw her you'd probably understand why I didn't want to risk her being attracted to me and me blowing my chance to be with her.

I just went back and asked for her number. She said: No. I'm in a relationship. I'm happy.

At least I won't regret not asking.
I realise that I am posting a reply to myself, but I was wondering, when women says: I'm in a relationship, or I have a boyfriend, or says she's not single, is there anything I could say in that situation to turn the tables in my favor? I am especially wondering this because I was recently at a bar and asked a woman if she was single and she said: No. I then said: Ok. Then she said: Ok. Was that some sh!t test that I failed; if so, what could I have said to pass it?

Reply - Well, let me know if that changes.
And learn to recognize a stop sign when it’s in your face…

I see. She may very well have been in a relationship. I don't read women very well; so I often just approach them if I find them attractive--lately I've read about sh!t tests from women and this got me wondering if this is one of them--but I could be overthinking things.
I'll try to learn how to read women in the future.

Has a bf definately low interest sign, i remember walking into a pharmacies, one staff lady came to me literally asking me to make friends, she asking for a ride home as it quite lafe to catch a bus, we buck that night.. Girls will create a lot of excuses if shes not into you and will create. More excuses just to ne with you if her interest high.

You are on the right track. You have the balls to go back and ask for numbers, you are reading books and you're on this site. The only way is up!

With cold approaching...after a few...you feel warmed up and confident.
The more you approach, the more confident you will get. You will notice your cold approach improving. You will notice little improvements and will feel less awkward...the more you do it. Like the way you use your body language. The way you speak to her.

The crazy thing is after she rejected me I told her: Ok. Have a good one. And she said: You too babe.
Also, she was younger than me (I would estimate 8 to 10 years younger) so it's not like she said babe because I'm young compared to her.

I honestly hate when women I don’t know or aren’t interested in me throw words around like “babe” and “hun” and crap like that. These same women complain about guys doing the same to them. I hate making small talk with women anyways, especially if she isn’t interested in me or I can see a ring on her finger.

I actually checked for a ring on her finger, and there wasn't one. Also, she seemed giggly when she was talking to me, but all I can think of that now is that it might just be her personality.

It’s not her personality. She’s an attention ***** and a tease. No one flirts without realizing they’re doing it. Or either she’s the most non-self aware person on the face of the earth.

What's the point of being a tease if someone doesn't want sex or whatever from someone else?

Attention is like crack to women. It’s something men can’t understand because we don’t need attention, our egos aren’t as fragile as most women. A non-confident guy is still 100x more confident than the most confident woman. Women can have a boyfriend and if they can have a random guy be interested them (as you were since you asked for her number) it boosts her ego like you wouldn’t believe. Now, the weird thing is these same women will turn cold to you when you ask them out or afterwards because they know they have to turn you down and that means no more free attention from you.

Maybe that explains why this woman who was 9 years younger than me gave me her phone number at a bar recently, and then when I followed up via text to set up a date she said: I have to work then [saturday]. Then I said: when can you meet up? And she said: I'll let you know.
When I didn't get any response after that for a few days I googled: I'll let you know meaning [to see what it means since I knew even then that woman aren't straghtforward]. I found the answer on this forum and have been using it ever since!

I respectfully disagree with this. I see so many guys with these hard and fast rules about the types of girls they REFUSE to date.

1) no service industry girls
2) no girl where you work
3) no girl with a recent ex-boyfriend
4) no girl whose name ends with a vowel
5) no girl who was born on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday

Geez. Stop pre-screening these women to death.

And please, no philosophical rant from anyone about how pre-screening is vitally important, to protect ourselves down the road.
That's not where I'm going here.

Life is meant to be lived. We'll win some. We'll lose some.
Agree to disagree. No hired guns for me. Cheers.

People will have certain words stuck in their vocabulary based on the region they grew up in.
What may seem like flirting to you is just normal conversation for them.

I have been acknowledged me with "hon, hun, honey, sugar, pumpkin, gringo, young man, holmes, partner, chief, boss, buddy, sir, brother, muchacho," when I was younger and also living in different parts of the US.

If a woman likes you she won't tell you about her boyfriend unless you specifically ask. A good reply is "I don't like women with boyfriends" and then walk away.
