"Technically" the eye candy, ear candy and image candy of a car can cause the owner of it to recieve some of that type of attention. It just does. It's not a bad tool to have if you can do it without compromising yourself.

I can tell you're a bimmer guy like me. LOL
All my BMW cars had Sport package, lowered, wheels, tinted, M tech, at the minimum. Luv Shadowline and hate Chrome. Personally I think you need the 6 TT to provide the tingles for the girls. LOL
Yes, sound like similar tastes. |Can't stand chrome and would get similar spec too. My mate has a 320 diesel in shadow line and looks mean. Good thing with BMW range is if you debadge them, people wouldn;t be able to tell whether you had 320, 330 etc. Only difference on the 340 is the exhausts on each side... most wouldn;t know that either. Otherwise comes down to the trim you spec - mperformance etc.

Yeah the the 3ltr TT is a great engine. Torque is immense, sounds incredible when you hit around 4k revs in M3 :D

Really need to be aware of where speed cameras are here in UK as so easy to get into license losing territory if not careful...

Yep, certainly wouldn;t do you any harm. My view is, if you're not a car guy and/or earning a regular earning 6 figures its not worth going crazy. You'd end up resenting the running costs, particularly if it meant compromising in other areas of life.

Important to spend relative to your income/assets.

It's not like a nice car will guarantee you get laid ten times more than driving something more run of the mill.

2018 Chevy Volt Hatchback all the chicks like it. Gets 1,000 MPG, is stupid quick, is paid off (thanks government tax breaks) but the girls don’t know it. Chicks are deranged I think it’s better that way anyway if they think you flexing 2BA9D2B9-7E0A-4774-8CB9-215EABB07103.jpeg

They don’t know what it is but it always gets compliments. I thought it would get Prius treatment but chicks aren’t knowledgeable about cars. They just want it to look nice
Exactly. Not sure how popular they are in different areas of US but audi, bmw, merc at the 'aspirational' marques over here in the UK.

Most (girls) don't seem to care about engines, performance etc, particularly as petrol a lot more expensive to buy compared to US But they want the look, 4 audi rings, 'prestige etc, usually white or black.

In fact a lot drive in diesels as tge mpg is better and since government increased tax on buying diesel, road tax on diesel they're cheaper to buy, but sound like ****, but can be specced with sport/performance trims still. Makes me smile to myself when you see a car with fake amg, m badges but when they start it up sounds almost like a tractor.

When conversation comes up with women about cars and I start relaying engine sizes, cylinders... (joking of course) a lot seem to prefer suv's if given the choice. Probably a power thing, like being high up.

Move to electric will suit most, but I'm dreading it. Yes they're quick, cheap to run, but lack soul, feedback, noise... sense of occasion etc that proper performance cars have. Luckily it will be a long, long time before they're phased out/made astronomically expensive to run.

This is an important thread:

Most guys who drive the $100K+ cars, wear $1000 suits, try to impress everyone with their bling, etc., etc., are often living check-to-check. They are often very low self-esteem and think "things" will give them happiness and status. If you meet them, they're often very pompous and what I call "paper lions" - very insecure little man-children on in the inside who put on a huge "act." I'm not friends with any of these d*cks because our values and goals are polar opposite.

Any moron who knows anything about finance and wealth knows the way to wealth is investing regularly, living moderately, and being frugal. F*ck what the gold digging and shallow woman thinks.

If the dumb f*ck driving the Tesla would have invested even a $1000 of his $100K+ car in Tesla stock (as overvalued as it is) just a few years ago, he'd have a hell of a lot more than what the car is worth.

If you want to be wealthy, don't follow morons who "think/try to show" they're successful. Listen to the ones who have actually done it. They all basically say the same thing about wealth building and it's NOT wasting your money on a bunch of material bull s*it.

Read the Millionaire Next Door if you want to make $ and become wealthy.

BTW, I drive a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 140,000 miles on it...and I get laid all the time.

Ciao,

~Dash~

If they read millionaire next door and similar resources they wouldn't invest in individual stocks/shares ;)

Hey, I somewhat resemble that remark. ;) The difference is I'm an owner and investor of Tesla. All my cars except the Tesla is paid for. My house will soon be paid off in 2 years. All my credit cards/student loans have been paid off.

It's nice to splurge here and there but there should be a balance and you should have some sensibility about it.

Nice Jeep BTW...

Yeah I know he says 'most not all but yiu can't judge everyone with a nice car as being frivolous or up to their eye balls in debt or compensating for a small **** or other usual clichés fired out by (sometimes jealous or insecure) people.

I'm also mortgage free, car paid off in cash, max out tax free investments each year etc.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, it should relevant to your financial situation and what gives you pleasure.

Person could be making 500k a year (not most I know) so spending 50-100k on a car isn't too big a deal.

I'm glad you pointed out the fact you are a Tesla shareholder. It was presumptuous of Dash to rant and not consider how someone made their money!

Like you, I have a couple of exotics, but instead of Bimmers and/or motor bikes, I have a passion - which started with a W123 chassis Turbo Diesel (Best car ever made, imho - "Engineered Like No Other") - for classic Mercs.

As far as females are concerned - Yes, they do look and engage, but so do kids, old folks and anyone else with good taste!

I have investment/trading accounts, paid cash for my stable of cars and live mortgage free too....In fact it was an investment 30 years ago that allowed me to buy my first exotic....Cheers!

I aspire to own a 190 Cosworth Evo to keep my e30 M3 some company in the stable some day. LOL
500E(W124) jointly developed with Porsche is another good one too.

Not sure what other books you're referring to but the MND is big on investing in the market, especially your 401K or IRA. This is straight from the Millionaire Next Door Wiki page:

(PAW: Prodigious Accumulators of Wealth -- what you want to be)

PAWs are willing to take financial risk if it is worth the reward
PAWs are not misers who put every penny under their mattress. They invest their money for good returns, and will consider riskier investments if they're worth the reward. Many put money not only in the stock market, but invest in private businesses and venture capital.

I think the main thing is to have something presentable. I paid $3K for my car but I got a deal, I detail it on a regular basis and try to have it washed before first dates. It's never been an issue.

@dash I agree your post, most guys with high-end cars are fronting to some degree, lots of these guys in my neck of the woods. That being said, if you aren't jacked and you're driving a 2000 Jeep, I'd give it the Chris Fix treatment lol.

Well yeah, I agree, there's usually a varyung degree of 'fronting with it. Key thing is not basing everything on trying to impress others.

Same goes for anything we buy/choose to own.

You could argue buying anything more than the cheapest food, clothing, home etc is unnecessary- waste of reosurces/fronting etc.

You could question why someone would choose to own a doberman, rather than a lab. Or any dog for that matter.

This is the main thing with girls. If you're going to do anything for them, just keep your car presentable and clean. I would take any woman that bashes your car or judges it heavily as a requirement to be with you, as a red flag(unless it's a real POS).

Everything else should be done for your happiness.
