Are NEET men really disconnected from the dating pool? Or do they choose to be NEET because they have already been diconnected by rejection?

BTW: NEET is the acronym for Not in Employment, Education or Training (i.e., a lazy bum, LOL).

"In 2015, 22 percent of lower-skilled men [those without a college degree] aged 21 to 30 had not worked at all during the prior twelve months,” he said.
So, what are are these young, non-working men doing with their time? Three quarters of their additional leisure time is spent with video games ...
... these young men have disconnected from both the labor market and the dating pool. They are on track to grow up without spouses, families, or a work history.
my opinion: I think that men that have been rejected in the dating pool in the pure sense (i.e., no decently attractive woman wants to mate with him for purely genetic reasons) then have to consider trying to BetaBux their way into the poontang, with 3 possible results:

[1] Maximize income so as to BetaBux.

[2] Realize that they won't be able to maximize their income into any level decent enough to be attractive to women looking for a BetaBux, and so they go NEET (or at least work just barely enough to get by).

[3] Even though they could maximize income to BetaBux, they don't think it is worth the effort, and so go MGTOW, going NEET after reaching some modest retirement goal (i.e., reach the point at which they have what they consider FVCK YOU money). They could also decide to continue to earn a good income, with the proceeds going toward EscortMaxxing or LocationMaxxing (with the latter having a strong dose of NEETing so as to have the time to travel).

I highly doubt most NEETS chose that lifestyle, sure they put no real effort in changing their life but most would rather just be normal functioning members of society

Socioeconomic status is often (usually) continuous across multiple generations, hence (some) low income parents work four jobs to send there kids to college and on to a better life, because they know that if they don't, the situation will continue to perpetuate.

This OP is a very long-winded way of saying success begets success, or value begets value. Mental m@sturbation at best.
Of course there will be one exceptional bum who finds some weak woman to manipulate, but those are unusual.

NEET guys should revise their priorities, as such that they are not a burden on others in the first instance. Dating and procreation are really (should be) a luxury, compared to the necessity of self preservation.

Some NEET men get a decent amount of poontang. This is most true if they engage in criminal behavior.

That is a poor characterization of "NEET" to say "lazy bum'. You forgot to mention employment discrimination, racism in the work-place, people who have fallen through the cracks are making great use of their time volunteering (which crosses a huge gamut of activity), having worthwhile hobbies, or are being intellectually exploited while someone else is turning the profit, or may working in a commission related job and have lucked out after a period of time. Someone can be totally productive but either make no money or have their money stolen by a capitalist vulture.

Technically, that's not NEET, since being a criminal is a "career" that requires one to get off his a33 and do something bold.

Sorry for me using the neoliberal paradigm, LOL.

If we exclude criminals from the NEET equation, I imagine a NEET to be an 18-34 year old man who is overweight, has a neckbeard, and lives with one of his parents. He probably overindulges in porn and video games. That guy isn't getting laid.

What happens after 34 years old? Why such age parameters? Why did you not include volunteering, great hobbies, or personal religious activity in the mix?

Too Many Women?

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

How is volunteering, hobbies, or personal religious activity relevant? NEETs are usually bums and aren't volunteering. Younger adults are less likely to participate in religion. Yes, NEETs can be 35+ too and living with their parents or a sibling.

Because you are making up a definition for NEET as we are going along and riddling it with negative stereotypes.

On the base definition: Not in Employment, Training, Education, or Training actually does not cover the activities that I've mentioned. Someone can be volunteering in church and have some disability that prevents them from gaining proper employment and be classified as a NEET because they meet the technical definition. It doesn't mean they don't have worthwhile use of their time.

I have resonated with NEETs because I don't have a proper job (I'm commission income rather than salaried income), but that doesn't mean that I'm not accountable for my time in some way and that I can waste my life away. A proportion of my time is spent in prayer, bible study, or looking at religious programming, taking care of my senior parents and running all sorts of chores around the house because they can't do it like when they were younger, I do not play video games and have not since 1992, and don't actually overindulge in porn because I'm worried that could send me to hell. My hobbies include biking around during the summer and if there are any vices of time then they would have to be select movies and streaming. So, sorry, the "couch potato' thing doesn't fit. This home will fall apart very quickly if I do that because I'm running this place. Despite this, I don't currently meet the technical definition because I'm enrolled in a course and I'm still technically self-employed, but I can't say that I don't resonate with that if business is too slow.

Now, I know you are going to counter my suggestion and say, well I'm the exception to the rule and the vast majority are bums, or I'm not technically a NEET, but if you look at the state of the economy with covid closing everything down, then isn't allot more people unemployed than usual and currently meet the definition of NEET? Or, could this be a discriminatory meaning that goes against poor (or racialized people who are making exceptional contributions but are not getting the credit) because if someone inherited a fortune or won a lottery and went travelling around the world, they would still be NEET and probably won't have problems meeting women or be looked at negatively?

If a guy isn't getting laid, there's a good chance that he's excessively fapping and watching porn. Before I gave up porn and fap years ago, I would watch porn and fap when I wasn't getting laid. Eliminating porn and fap is one of the best things that someone can do for success in picking up women for sex.

There's a single male to single female surplus. Single females have their pick of the litter. Many employed guys struggle to get laid. While it is good that these guys are employed, women don't really give a shiit about your job if you make less than $100,000 minimum. To a woman, there's little difference in a guy making $70,000 a year in some white collar office job and a McDonald's cashier who makes less than $30,000 a year. If the McDonald's guy is a deadbeat, bad boy criminal, he'll probably get more poontang than a boring $70,000/year office drone, who does reasonably well all things considered. If you're going to be white collar, you need to make minimum $100,000, more likely $150,000 ($150,000 in the Northeast/West Coast, more likely $200,000) to get any respect from women for your income.

Being employed doesn't often help a man get laid, but being unemployed will really dry up your options for poontang, especially if you are unemployed and white collar.

Being a student or in some training program might help a guy for getting laid, but it won't do much.

If even employed guys struggle to get laid, the NEETs are stuggling even more.

The first paragraph doesn't fit with the rest of the post so it's a bit incoherent. You bring up personal vice and then go on to say, no it's about how much you make, or if you are an unemployed white collar. Then why bring up the first point in the first place if it's about income or lack of it?

Income and/or net worth helps a guy get poontang. Income and/or net worth can make up for other shortfalls.

What do you mean by neoliberal paradigm?
The neoliberal paradigm is that the unemployed are only so because they are lazy, since the economy "creates" so many great opportunities by giving the wealthy a tax cut, which trickles down to everyone else, etc.

Think Ronald Reagan.
